A BRISBANE skydiving instructor has died after landing heavily during a jump. The man, 33, died in the Esk Base Hospital just after 2pm yesterday after the midday jump at Ramblers Drop Zone at Toogoolawah, 130km west of Brisbane. Senior Constable Peter Redman, of Esk police, today said the routine jump was going as planned until the instructor was close to the landing site, when a problem occurred causing him to land very heavily. "We're looking at whether he's had some sort of equipment failure not far from the ground," Snr Const Redman said. The man was taken by ambulance to the Esk Base Hospital and preparations were under way to airlift him to Brisbane when he died from his injuries. A post mortem examination is expected to be conducted on Monday. A report on the skydiving death is also being prepared for the coroner. At my DZ there is a few Voodoos about and I have had a chance to have a good look at it. My main reason is that of location. I have jumped a sabre 190 for about a year now and had one spanker. I talked to a few riggers about this and I found if I rolled my slider into the tail it slowed the openings up which will reduce spankings on the sabre! Freemind, freesky, freebeer, freefly, freesex
