  1. I expect that if the polls show public opinion is in favor of a pull out that both candidates will support a pull out. Bush has nothing to loose, you kind have to respect the guy for sticking to his guns despite all the pressure.
  2. Why is it a Christmas Tree? Pagans brought trees indoors for decoration at Winter Solstice in pre-Christian times. Christians just borrowed the concept. If you want to call it a Holiday Tree, why shouldn't you? Agreed, in fact if the state paid for it or it is on public land that is maintained by the state then it should not be focused on christianity, holiday tree is much better. If the christians want a christmas tree they can erect their own outside their church.
  3. For fucks sake start thinking about issues without thinking how you can bash the left. Oh, I am. I'm thinking "why can't the Kennedys help out the people of Massachusetts. The same people who have elected him and his agenda for so many years?" You think thats an unreasonable thing to think? You compare Chavez with the resources of one of the largest oil producing nations in the world who provide 15% of US oil with a private family and you think it is reasonable, do you really expect anyone to believe that you were not just having a bash at the lefties, give me a fucking break.

  5. Great news. Some of the GOP are thinking independently rather than towing the party line. I wonder if this will catch on with the diehard GOP SC folks. Associated press... Twenty-five Republicans, led by Rep. Charles Bass of New Hampshire, signed a letter asking GOP leaders to strike the Alaskan drilling provision from the broader $54 billion budget cut bill. "Rather then reversing decades of protection for this publicly held land, focusing greater attention on renewable energy sources, alternate fuels, and more efficient systems and appliances would yield more net energy savings than could come from ANWR and would have a higher benefit on the nation's long-term economic leadership and security," they said.
  6. I have to agree with you on this issue, it is just an expensive jesture that will achieve nothing, aside from being illegal it would likely make no difference to gun crime even if it was. It is an example of a left wing foolishness that unfortunately passed at the ballot box. The only good thing in CA yesterday was that the equally absurd right wing propositions from the governator were squashed when people realised that he was trying to set himself up to be king.
  7. Already answered. But since you can't seem to recall the answer, I'll spell it out for you again. Invoking the 5th amendment is a right all Americans have. Libby, as an American, has this right. Because he was trying to be cooperative with the investigation, he did not invoke his 5th Amendment right as he could have and had he, wouldn't have been charged with perjury. Hillary Clinton, in an attempt to be uncooperative in numerous investigations including the Rose Law Firms rip off of clients invoked her 5th amendment right and therefore wasn't charged with anything. Was she indicted, no, was she convicted, no, where is your evidence that she ripped off clients, or is this just your opinion? How do you know she was uncooperative, she would have been charged with obstruction of justice if she was, Star or whoever was the investigator would have indicted her if he had a shred of evidence. Basically you have taken a bunch of unsubstantiated opinions (probably from some talk radio show host funded by the GOP), presented them as facts and then used this to make libby sound somehow "honest" for not being uncooperative and this is OK because a "lefty" did something worse before and apparently got away with it. You should apply for a job on his defense team.
  8. A quick check of your posting history makes me laugh so hard and so loud at this statement I almost peed my pants. Long's or most other drug stores will sell you adult diapers to help you with your incontinence, they are next to the regular baby diapers I buy for my 1 year old, he also does what he is told by his parents, but by the time he is grown up he will think for himself. Good thing you are a lefty. Many of us on the right would at least get a warning for such a stupid and weak attempt at an insult. I won't stoop to your level though. Heck, Ron got banned for less than what you said. Ok enough, will you now answer my origianl question about why you introduced hilary clinton's whitewater testimony into your discussion of libby's indictment? I don't expect you will, your track record shows that you either ignore difficult questions or change the topic as you have in this thread.

  10. Nope. I believe perjury is perjury. Clinton was guilty of it. It's yet to be seen if Libby is. Yes I do think there would be an investigation You said hilary clinton not bill, unless I missed out real bad on the facts she wasn't found guilty of any crime or even indicted. What classified information have they made public? Duh, the fact that she was covert, just because it was leaked does not mean it is not still classified Actually, it's an attempt to present the other side of an issue. You do believe in learning other points of view, don't you? If not, you can just hang out at Moveon.org and let them pollute your mind. So in summary, you think it's all over, Libby is guilty because they wouldn't be spending all this money unless he was guilty, right? I don't read moveon.org, and I don't know if he is guilty but I am just amazed at the lengths you go to make excuses for a bush official getting indicted even though he has not been found guilty of anything yet, I think that you are so indoctrinated that you would argue the sky was green if bush/republicania said it was so. All I tried to do was object to you bringing up clinton in this discussion and you let rip with this. I am also amazed at your inability to think outside of the party line, it demonstrates an lack of independent thought. All you do is churn out the same partisan drivel, post after post, thread after thread, it is quite sad.
  11. My issue with you is that you had to drag clinton into this thread, why did you do that, it is not relevent to this and was just one of your attempt to cloud the issue. Is there was no crime committed why is there an investigation, do you really think that all this time and money would be wasted? Do you really think the investigation team have not established whether she was covert or not, and why would they make this information, which is still classified, available to the general public. It is just another attempt to divert attention. Several folks are using it, you have to wonder if you are all reading the same web site or listening to the same talk radio.
  12. So are you trying to say that lying is somehow better, he could have taken the 5th. You can't compare some dodgy land deal or a blow job with espionage. They are orders of magnitude apart. He wasn't indicted for espionage. He was indicted because in the many interviews he was subjected to over a 2 year period of time, some of his answers were inconsistent. Don't make this out to be more than it is. I didn't say he way, he was indicted for lying under oath in an espionage investigation. I was pointing out that your comparison of espionage to a dodgy land deal or a blow job if absurd, you are trying to excuse Libby's behavior by saying the other side did it first, typical partisan BS.

  14. So park in the street, or exercise your right to work in a company that does allow gun in the parking lot.
  15. Can't resist this one because I (and many others) pay a shitload of taxes to the federal government, way more than I do to the state and I expect that money to be used for our good, which includes helping out for internal emergencies (FEMA) as well as funding the armed forces. The government is there to serve us, not the other way round, we pay for them I expct value for that money, I don't think we got it in the case of Katrina because they couldn't get their act together, partly because the head of FEMA was not up to the job and most of the other execs knew jack shit about disaster management, if they worked for a commercial organisation they would have had their asses fired by now. BTW, did that belly rub a byron have a happy ending
  16. Well it is not actually law, just a proposed law that will probably not make it onto the books, to quote your source, so it is really a bunch of right wing religious zealots, kind of like that american religious nut robertson that said we should assassinate Chavez. "But PAS has little chance of imposing the proposed law as the federal government controlled by Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad's coalition has vowed to block it. The state government in Kelantan, the other Malaysian state controlled by PAS, passed similar laws in 1993 but they have never been enforced because of federal government opposition. "
  17. You mean someone else apart from thinks that GWB & FEMA bears no responsibility!!! Most folks I speak to think that the entire system failed from top to bottom from the commie left to the extreme right, from president right down to the mayor. In this instance you have to look beyond your support for the republicans and see what is really happening. Even GWB (to his credit) did this. I think the govenor and the mayor should loose their jobs. If they were my major or govenor they would not get my vote ever again. I think Brown was correct to resign GWB did good accepting some responsibility in a non-partisan fashion, why can't you accept that? I expect you will accuse me of being a loony lefty or a bush basher or attach some other label to me rather than address the issue, but then again maybe you will not.
  18. Yeah, right, so why did the President say that the response was not good enough and take some responsibility for it. I guess GWB does not read the post gazette.

    2-1 Barbecue That !

Way to go England. been 18 years waiting for this. An awsome series, maybe there is a reason to go back to blighty after all, there is nothing like cricket. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/england/4237610.stm
  20. Ah, the "I'm an American and we can do no wrong gambit so you must be a left wing commie for disagreeing with me and voicing an independent thought". You should read 1984 (george orwell)
  21. Yawn, you sound just like the broken Bush record. This president screwed up and has not the balls to admit it. He (and his oil cronies) miscalculated and created a terrorist haven called Iraq. It does not take a college degree to see that, all you need to do is stop taking what Bush says as the gospel truth. I mean he used WMD and UN resolutions to justify invasion and now he is using 9/11, don't you see this u-turn? How does a degree help with understanding this??
  22. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,167675,00.html and http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/08/30/bush.ap/index.html What a pile of BS, does he think we are all stupid or what. I wonder what the excuse for the Iraq invasion will be next week? to quote... CORONADO, California (AP) -- Facing a public increasingly wary of his war policies, President Bush declared Tuesday that America cannot rest until its freedom is secure and likened his spreading-democracy vision to Franklin D. Roosevelt's. Commemorating the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II, the president drew comparisons between that 20th-century conflict and current wars on terror and in Iraq. "As we mark this anniversary, we are again a nation at war. Once again war came to our shores with a surprise attack that killed thousands in cold blood," he said at a naval base here, referring to September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. He said that as in the time of World War II, the United States now faces "a ruthless enemy" and "once again we will not rest until victory is America's and our freedom is secure."
  23. We use a firewire hub for dubbing at the end of the day, we have had up to 6 camera's, one playing and the rest recording at the same time. All the cameras were sony, although I'm not sure if that matters. On occasions the hub gets confused and has to be power cycled and the cameras turned off. It helps if the playback camera is the first to be turned on and starts to play (pause is OK) before the rest connect
  24. What about the iraqi civilian deaths, they all died in iraq. I guess they don't mean anything to you, 10000s of them have died, do an online search for more details, so many that no-one has accurate data. Your analysis is BS. I guess they were really happy to be liberted of their lives. How many soldiers died in New York and Chicago in 2004, that would be a more meaningful comparisson than what you posted.
  25. If you get the model number try amazon.com, I bought a manfrottofrom there, it was cheap too.
