I was hooked for a couple of years. i finally managed to quit and then Dark ages of camelot came out. Needless to say it took another year to quit that as well. Edited to remove repitition of things Bill posted. What I would be more worried about is the change in global weather patterns based on a few degrees of temperature change. (Not to say that it's not a natural occurance but we are changing the rate that this occurs. ) ie. The typical weather pattern for your area moving north or south especially around the 30 and 60 degree latitudes. Which in those areas can make the seasonal variations milder or more extreme. (Depending on alot of factors in your area) El nino and La nina events becoming more extreme. Try this one: Raspberry Chocolate Cake. (Not sure about the amounts) 1/3 Raspberry Vodka 1/6Creme de caoca 1/2 Franjelico Lemon wedge dipped in sugar. I'm not saying that I climb 12's, (at least not anymore, I'm out of shape) but I really like working very hard problems. The process of learning to climb something like that is the fun part. For example I once spent a month working white lighning in Yosemite. I was barely leading 5.10 at the time. Nothing like finishing something that took that much effort. I dissagree. It does take a little training (which works into a belay class well) but first timers can safely do it with a single rope. I usually make sure they have some gloves and do a military belay at the bottom side. Sounds like there might be some good routes at the magma gardens area. As your getting beta do you think you could find out if there are any good V4- V6 problems near where we may be doing TR? I have 3 extra harnesses I can bring as well as some mens size 9 shoes I could lend out. I a VERY interested in this. I'm 100% down if you change the dates. I'm out to sea the 4th and 5th. All of November looks good as well as the second week in Dec. There are alot of variables in choosing a first kite. Average wind speed in your area, your weight, 2 line vs. 4 line, as well as the board you use. What i would suggest is go to the local wind surfing/ kite surfing beach and talk someone into letting you fly one of their kites (while standing on the beach) Being able to drag yourself around on the beach is the first step, followed by dragging yourself in the water without a board. They can give you a sence of what type and size of kite might be appropriate for you. It really helps to have someone show you the basics, from there it is fairly easy to learn on your own. I would also caution you against getting a 2 line kite. While they ARE simpler you will find the lack of brake lines limiting to your learning progression as well as the range of wind speeds you can fly in. Eventually you will likely have several kites for different conditions.
