    Am I crazy? It's not unreasonable for someone with less than 100 jumps to want to break at 4500 is it? I've had people roll their eyes or act quite shocked that I would want to break that high.*** Next time this happens and they are not willing to work with you then kindly decline jumping with them.     The individual does not post much and just started skydiving but is undergoing a minor surgery today and wanted to post so everyone could send well wishes.     Sure let me have her for a few weeks. Although I am sure your Dad could give her the same training I would. Some of that good ole military style. Teach her that anytime she acts up she will go back to military style. I am sure she will be good to you then. Then again your Dad is emotionally attached so he might not be as harsh.

    I thought we died every time we left the plane and had to do something to bring ourselves back? That is the philosophy I have always followed. I mean if you do nothing then you are dead! Right!     Yes Ortho's are very pre-cautious not too mention when it comes to a sport like skydiving they are even moreso. My first jump back into the sport was at 2YRS. It was a 24PT 4-WAY. Then I waited another 6-MOnths to come back on a regular basis. Of course my injury was pretty severe and I had multiple surgeries. I wanted to make sure I was as flexible and strong as I could be. It was hard but I think the waiting helped my body. I have seen way too many people come back too soon. Some are out of the sport because of that decision. Others are in severe pain because things did not heal properly. Personally I would say to wait at least a full year. I am not a Dr. by any stretch of the means. You also know your body. If it does not feel right then you should definitely wait. The sport is not going to stop existing. Give your body time to come back. Do your exercises. Stretch. Your buds should be behind you. You can always go and have a beer at the end of the day or something.

    You obvously have never been through a trial here in the U.S. The truth rarely comes out. At least in the things I have been involved in. It all comes down to who has the money.     depends upon if they forget to send it to you or not. I am a lifetime member and for some reason I have to check in every so often to let them know I am still alive or they stop sending it all together. Ahh the U.S.P.A. what can you do.     I have been talking to this Wonderful Woman for a few weeks and cannot believe she is not attached. We are on the phone for hours and hours talking about many different topics. It seems as though we have known each other forever. She keeps on talking of this move to California and I ask why there. She says she would like to try it out for a couple of years. Obviously she does not pick up on the hint that I want her to be closer to me. So I stay up extra late one night mapping the best route to California for her. I just had to remind her that she was making her journey on a holiday weekend. She scolds me for bringing that up.

    I am not just talking about the student/instructor thread. This thread deals with all questions asked by the young skydiver. "Should I jump a canopy I am wingloading at 2.1 with only 20 jumps?" As an extreme example. There are so many different situations that they cannot all be listed. Ya'll know what I am talking about. As far as advice. I personally listen to very experienced people in the industry. Of course I have that luxury b/c of my location and I am in the military. I get to travel and see more things and meet more people in the sport. Even being in the sport over 10yrs, an instructor, I still ask questions and seek to get more informed any chance I get.     Aren't they just great? They ask questions but when it is not the answer they want it offneds them. I mean you just gotta love it. Just like raising a child. If they don't get thier answer then keep searching until someone agrees with them to get what they want.

    Actually it would be better if I were your instructor b/c I would be concerned about teaching you instead of laying. I would also be more objective and make sure your mistakes were noted so that you could learn from them. Obviously you are in hiding.
