  1. It sounds like a crossfire 1. Some VX's have the same problem.
  2. I like to put a lot of power behind my turns. I really don't know exactly how I do it, but I come out with some good power. Sometimes I can get a grip of power, other times I just get lazy. My goal this year is 500' distance without weights on my 103. I went 407 in the comp, but I didn't use the pop up technique that a lot of you guys were doing. I should be getting my canopy back from Mel next week with the technora line set. I'm really looking forward to trying it out. I remember that speed run when I went flying past you, and we were really far out of the course. I just remember thinking the straw that they put out for people to land on was worthless as it was about 150-200 feet behind us. My ass was sore ass hell that evening from the fast conditions that day. It was fun though, but I sure was ready for a cold beer by the time it was over.
  3. When it came to the cpc championship Mark Shimell and I had the fastest two speeds for the course in round 2. If we would not have busted the first round I think we would have been contenders. Mark Shimell JVX whatever Rnd 1 10.00 Rnd 2 2.33 Grant Adams Velo 103 RND 1 10.00 Rnd 2 2.50 This info can be found here: http://www.canopypiloting.com/cpcstandardscores.htm True luigi had a really fast swoop when I saw him land the 39, but it wasn't really far. It shut down at a rather hi airspeed forcing him to slide in on his feet. It was impressive.
  4. Refer to my post earlier in the thread: "Fuckin potheads"
  5. That was the baddest superman over solid uneven ground that has ever been accomplished. You saw how far I was laid out didn't you? I was beginning to worry that my nipples would be raw, but my scrotum took most of the brunt of the ground before they got rubbed. I'm going to go and buy a cup this weekend.
  6. Psycho pack is more of a bagging technique, than a packing method. If it was the cats meow, then everyone would be doing it. In time your packing technique will adjust to your equipment, and you will be able to trim the bulk down. A neater pack job will probably have a little less bulk. The biggest advice I can give you is to go out and jump. The more you jump the more you have to pack the bettter you get at it. Jump jump jump, just be carefull, and get canopy coaching from a qualified person. Take the advice you get off the internet, and from 100 jump wonders at the DZ with a grain of salt. There is more bad and dangerous advice floating around out there than good advice. If you have questions ask your AFF instructors. That is all.
  7. Is this damn thing open to the public yet?
  8. Grant Adams holds the record for the sexiest man to ever swoop.
  9. I feel that it is safer to go full elliptical with a lighter wing loading to start to learn the flight charicteristics instead of learning a semi and than learning a full. While we are all entitled to our own opinions, I feel that this is not the safest mode of learning. Ellipticallity should have no bearing on how a canopy "swoops". A swoop is a byproduct of speed carried over from approach to plane out. Any canopy will swoop given enough speed. You don't need a crossfire or katana to swoop. A sabre will do it just fine. As far as a progression goes, everyone is going to tell you something different, and people with low experience wanting to go fast are going to look around until they find some one who will tell them it's OK to do so. Oh well, but that's the way it goes. I would not put people who are relatively in-experienced on elliptical canopies, as they have a few draw backs that are not condusive to learning.
  10. Yo, check it: I think Ian hinted on something about coming back down to sea level. I have been jumping up here for over 5 years now, and when ever I go back to sea level, I have a hard time adjusting, to how low I have todo my turn, and how slow everything is. Conversely, I feel that when I do jump at sea level, I can get away with some really shit technique that would otherwise hurt you at altitude. In my experience canopies shut down much easier at sea level, but it is a little harder to bring the amount of power out of a turn into a swoop than I can bring up here. I enjoy jumping up here to tell you the truth, but I guess it's because I'm used to it. I just don't care for the onset of hypoxia from time to time on jump run as we are at 17500 msl. That is all. Grant PS How are you doing Chris? I havn't seen you for awhile. PM me. Late!
  11. Look. Any canopy can put you into the dirt at a high rate of speed. A sabre 2 will break you just as fast as a Crossfire 2 will. The best thing to do is to not fuck up when flying canopies.
  12. I'm so sexy they call me the "Onion" Women look at my ass and its so beautiful it makes them cry. hahahaaa I'm glad JP is secure enough in his masculinity to be able to make coments like this. What are you hiding from us Ian that is causing you to be insecure? Are you "hiding something in the closet" per se?
  13. Don't you have some tunnel work to be doing? Did to.
  14. Let's reflect on the great fag events of the 80's 90's and early 2000's and even the future: 80's: Richard Simmons, Elton John, Boy George, ect ect ect 90's: Ricky Martin 2000's:Queer Eye for the Straight guy, Metrosexual, and now Broke back mountain. Future: Ian Drennan Now Ian you are caught up with your gayness through the ages.
  15. Oh come on now... If we all jumped on every fag craze that gripped the nation we would all be homosexual, and there would no no reason to keep women around. By the way Did Not.
  16. One of you should dress up like an Indian, and the cowboy needs to have a really thick mustache, and wear assless chaps.
  17. Thanks... I didn't even notice that. I would like to thank all the little people I humiliated on DZ.com top get to this point. hahaha So have you two kissed and made up yet?
  18. Yeah wtf over? This is an A-B posting so C your way out of it! By the way DID NOT!
