  1. The USD spends well in many parts of the globe. That means you're part of Canada!
  2. They are a bit on the spendy side. I have an economical gas grill and a propane smoker, so for
  3. Did he talk you into joining? He said I'm more suited to be a Navy Seal. 4 star? That is pretty cool.
  4. I know what you mean. I've never made more than 300 jumps a year, and had job circumstances bring that down to 40 a year many years ago. But I would have estimated much higher. My numbers feel like a pittance in these days of professional, 6-days-a-week jumpers.
  5. I've seen that company's portables before. I thought it was pretty funny too.
  6. ......................................................................................... If 200 jumps is enough to start jumping a wing-suit or start jump off bridges, the incentive to log more jumps disappears. There is that D license and tandem rating out there that require 500 jumps. I still log mine. I don't write much about them, might put 9-10 jumps on one line, but I still log 'em.
  7. Every day's a holiday, right? I think I'll go make a few more skydives, then over to our daughter's house for Easter dinner.
  8. Friday night was a Passover dinner with friends. Today, mow the lawn and then go jump if it clears up. Tonight, friend's birthday party and will probably spend the night there. Sunday? Well, the kids are all grown and moved out, so no Easter shenanigans for us. Might take a friend on a tandem, depending on the weather. Last weekend was snorkeling and kayaking and jumping in Hawaii. This week is adjusting back to reality.
  9. It's gone!! Man, I hear about everything late on the West Coast.
  10. Sweet! I thought I'd have to go full frontal to get in that thread. . .
  11. No I'm not That's what I thought when I read the title.
  12. Not sure how many jumps he had previously but I think your selection is pretty good. He's in for a real treat jumping the new canopies.
  13. "All the way" Faye. Mae That was a great show. We got it on DVD somewhere. FIFY! Ahh, tank you very much.

  15. False. Some causes can be ruled out without knowing the actual cause. Basic set theory. Thanks for the breath of logic, Doc. The lack of scattered debris field rules out bombs and inflight breakups. Suicide is a selfish, narcissistic act, IMO. So sad that he didn't consider the other 149 people who wanted to live. I've got no sorrow for him.
  16. Still sounds like a great time. Happiness is getting blue skies while living within your means.
  17. They do work to keep the FAA off our backs as much as possible. They've gotten repack dates extended from 60 days to 180. They have an instructor certification process, the quality of which is debated. But I do get frustrated, too, with decisions they make that seem to be more about what the manufacturers want, not what the jumpers want.
  18. Beats sniffing all that glue making the models.
  19. And they never look at how much money you have invested in IRAs, 401Ks, etc. I've carried debts I could pay off anytime I wished, but had them play havoc with my credit rating.
