Experience level for heli jumps
JohnMitchell replied to rss_v's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Pretty sure that's the one. -
Ahhh, the natural beauty of hardwood floors.

Yep, mighty nice, and a mom to boot. It's not the age, it's the woman. And she's definitely the woman.
-
I'm into watersports, though... Does that count? Go look up "watersports" on the urban dictionary and come back here to report what you find... Damn. Well, whatever winds your watch stem.

Perfect. Or maybe it's like coffee to them.

Shortest time between reserve repack and cutaway?
JohnMitchell replied to beth0b's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You must know Jack Wallace. A friend of mine years ago, a rigger, had a very problematic main canopy with a 50% malfunction rate. I'm sure he had quite a few short lived reserve repacks. -

Those MI-8's are the best! They carry as many or more than a twin otter, have a nice tailgate and, well, they're helos. Vskydiver and I jumped those down in Acapulco years ago. I'm jealous of anyone who jumps them all the time. Most helo specialty jumps are out of smaller helos. Cramped seating, new sets of snag hazards, and that tricky, slicky skid to climb out onto. I've even seen video of a woman jumper getting her chest strap caught on the skid. Such a jump calls for a little more ability and awareness than just flopping out of a Caravan door. -

Sounds like a great day, Nataly. I hope he picked you up at the end of the day, all scrubbed and rubbed and feeling . . . . relaxed.
-
As a picky eater, I'd be happy to prove to you that you're wrong Best pick up line of the week, sir.

Certainly a cultural thing, and one that's changed dramatically in the past 40 years in our country (although I hear there's still room for improvement). I work for the government. My facility chief, 500+ employees, is a woman. Her asst. chief is a man. No one thinks twice about it. I've had both male and female supervisors. I have no gender preference, just that they be competent (not always the case.). In the U.S., gender discrimination is illegal, although proving a subtle case of it may be difficult. Are there similar laws in France?

All right, which one of you fuckers was in on this?

Ahhh, N@, the puritan streak runs deeply thru our country, I'm afraid, and forms a big puddle in the South. Puritanism - The fear that someone, somewhere, is having a good time. -
I suppose it is too late to get sponsorship from Jim Jones' People's Temple. No, but it's not to soon to be laughing at that joke.
-
Beer would be better. And more likely to get a sponsor.
-
Well, they're going for an endurance record. I'd say beer.

I'm glad to see the sheriff has a sense of humor. -
Wow, with lines like that I can't see why you're sleeping alone. . .

We have a winner! See you at LP? Just might. You gonna wear that shirt?
-
Shah, your freudian slip is showing.

Maybe a line up at the front porch. . .

That should have been "irked". Come on guys. Let's edit a little better. Seriously. this sport, this planet, has always had rip-off artists and unscrupulous people passing thru. Getting the word out to everyone is the best thing to do.
