    I would guess the non reflected wavelengths absorb as heat energy and reemit in the infrared spectrum, invisible to us but visible with IR scopes.

    One of my coworkers used to drop his young daughter off at the DZ to work as a packer. When he saw how cute some of the women jumpers were he started finding excuses to hang around the DZ a lot.

    Some of the best skydivers I know are exactly that. The pathway to learning is thru the doorway marked "humility."

    Several points made and I like them all. Since a good exit is all about timing and presentation to the relative wind . . . -I like a 3 part count, so you can pick up the rhythm. -I like the motion, so everyone can join in and leave smoothly. -I like the motion big, so rear-rear-rear float sees the count. -I like the person doing the count to be chill, to not "head fake" or be ambiguous on the count. I can understand competitive 4 way using a different method to gain an edge. If I jump with some of those guys, I'll have to adapt. The last time I jumped with a 4 way team person, though, they tripped off a bunch of letters for the dive. "Okay, P, then F, transition to B, then D, back to the top." Me . . "Huh?"

    Sometimes holding your chin up higher helps. The wind isn't as directly in your face and you'll arch better too. You'll probably get used to it soon. Don't worry.
