    I knew a guy that bounced because he chopped a biplane at about 100 feet. The main risers and lines promptly tangled with the reserve and he spun in right in front of everyone. Don't do it. I know one of the Golden Knights who did the 2 out test jumps. They all refused to do the "biplane-chop main" jump. They did try it with a kited test dummy setup. Every time was a gnarly entanglement. Whoever is teaching to chop a main during a biplane is teaching people a new way to commit suicide. I'm serious.

    Funny you got yelled at. We train our FJC students to pump twice for low speed mals before chopping.

    I started doing tandems 22 years ago wearing a frap hat. Started using a pimp daddy hard shell open face a few years later. Still using an open face but thinking of getting a G3 for all the reasons stated above by others.

    I'm sure he's killed so many, mostly by starvation, that it's starting to get boring. Poor little boy leader needs some variety to spice up his political purges. I'd personally pull the trigger on that sick kid and do humanity a favor.

    I'm 175 and 56 yo. I don't think I'll ever jump a sub-100 canopy.

    I think the shorter trips Amazon described make more sense than around the world with little kids. But then, our sport doesn't make much sense to a lot of people out there. There should always be room for adventure. I don't know enough about blue water sailing to know if a 36 ft boat is a reasonable choice.

    I have trouble with those super pro 4 way jumpers that don't say the names of the formations anymore, just say "D-J-H-G". Gimme a hint. Do I grab an arm or a leg??

    I've been preaching "feet-on-the-butt-ARCH" while cutting away for years. All these noobs disconnecting their RSL's because they "need time to get stable" before pulling their reserves probably just need some more training on how to do a proper cutaway. We sure have had a lot of people who bounced trying to get stable.

    Thanks for emphasizing the point, Chuck. We need to watch our words carefully. Like saying "This handle release your main and then this handle releases your reserve." Well Hell, if I've released my main canopy, I need a handle to deploy my reserve, not release it.

    Go to 23and Me and order one of their DNA tests... its AMAZING how many folks from the south that appear to be snow white... managed to get a bit of native American or sub-Saharan and got a "little color" in their family trees back in the 1700's Been there, done that, 2.5%

    I'm glad none of my kids did that one on me. . . Although we'd love grandkids. And I got no problem with a little color in the family tree.
