What are the odds of seeing something come to the market that would allow for dual control of the Sony series camera that allow for frame syncing? I know of the issues like parallax and other issues needed to be corrected to get better 3D that can only be overcame by having the cameras moved further apart and toed in for certain distances but up to this point I have not seen a controller that would allow for control of Sony devices in this manor. The Volt averages at around 35-38 mpg running on its gas engine just as a generator on long road trips in mountain mode where is generates more power than the electrics need and actually recharges some of the battery. When you figure in the first 100 miles were at 0 gas cost that can really screw with your mileage computations. If you drive 150 miles you only used 2 gallons so you averaged 75 mpg at 80 mph... Look at the daily driving habits of people and if their average is less than 100 miles they can go with minimal gas usage. With Electric costing around $.068 per KwH here it and the batteries only hold 16KwH of power I would be looking at $1.08 in charging cost per day of full recharge. Of course most days would be less than that. So for around $35 a month I could travel 3000 miles. I'd love to see your 1.8T get that range on $35 worth of fuel Performance is not going to set any track times but this car is more targeted at people in the suburbs looking to reduce their gas bills when they only make short drives. Dave, try to do a flare with your eyes closed at altitude sometime. This is a normal activity that is taught in the majority of the canopy courses I have seen over the last 5-7 years. The point of the activity is to get you to fee the swing of your body under and then in front of the canopy for proper flare timing. Removing the vision makes you focus on the sensation you are feeling and not what you are/are not seeing. If you are flaring too fast you only feel yourself in front, if you are flaring too slow you don't really feel any movement but a properly timed flare lets you feel all the motion. I've done this as part of the 3 canopy courses I have taken including 2 from Scott Miller and I've seen it used in lots of others. You should not have balance issues just by closing your eyes and if you do then you might have a medical condition that needs to be looked at since you should be able to maintain balance without sight (Otherwise I am not sure how blind people could walk) Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Which fuel are you saying is sustainable? That will frame the entire conversation. The Volt has an Electric motor that does the majority of the propulsion of the car. Only when the batteries have ran down to low power does the gas engine start up and it runs only to generate power to recharge the batteries. This is essentually a range boosting ability. The batteries are limited to about 100 miles of driving before they need recharged (4-5 hours on 110v or 2-3 on 220v) which happens to be more than the average commute from home to work and back. This lets you charge up at night so you might never need to touch the gas motor. But if you end up taking some detours on the way home and now your battery is about dead the gas motor can fire up and start charging the battery, this will give you more than the 100 mile range until you can charge up again. Nissan has the Leaf as an all electric car also. It has the same plug in system as the Volt and uses similar charges on the car to top it off. The Volt has an gas motor to run a generator as an option also if needed but for most city drives the option is never needed and only on really long drives do most drivers see this kicking in. I love the logic of even though the car has passed every safety test thrown at it some day somewhere someone might be injured so therefor the entire concept is flawed and people refuse to ride in them. Overall the technology is not that far off from a Prius and we don't seem them exploding left and right and the have been out for 10 years.... Not a single person was injured by a Volt, instead they had one that caught on fire weeks after a crash test in the test course. Where did you get that people were getting injured by their cars? Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

GM has offered to buy them back but less than 25 people have actually talked to GM about the details about returning them. Out of 6700 cars less than .003% of owners are interested in returning them over battery fears, that is a pretty good track record. http://money.cnn.com/2011/12/06/autos/chevy_volt_buyback/index.htm Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

The SR-22 has a nifty little handle the pilot can pull at any time when they are in trouble and they get a parachute. Its "saved" pilots that should have been dead due to their own issues multiple times including running out of gas and flying into conditions that they should not have ever attempted. Basically its being seen as a security blanket that pilots now feel that if everything goes wrong it does not matter since by pulling a handle they can walk away from about anything. Are you 5'2" and 205 or 6'5" and 205? Depending on your exact size will depend on what is the right amount of drag on a suit. A quick thing to do is grab tunnel time and work on fall rate, no matter what you might need to learn to fall slower and tunnel time is a fast way to learn that. They might recommend a baggier suit after some time if your body shape needs it. You just have not provided enough information yet to point you to anything other than tunnel time for assistance. GoPro Hero Outdoor vs Motorsports vs Surf
PhreeZone replied to Scubadivemaster's topic in Photography and Video
They used the standard stick tape on the normal mounts on the Z1. I was amazed that the plastic mount was untouched despite being under enough stress that it twisted the Z1 right off the jumpers head with the chin strap still buckled. GoPro Hero Outdoor vs Motorsports vs Surf
PhreeZone replied to Scubadivemaster's topic in Photography and Video
I highly recommend NOT installing it on a Z1. In the case of a snag or riser slap the only option is to pull the helmet clean off her head. I know one jumper that had that issue occur and it just about broke their neck and nose due to the helmet having no other option except spinning 90 degrees on their head and lucky popping off. Not to mention once you install it on a Z1 you basically remove the ability to open the lens so if it fogs you have no options to help clear it. Idea's for packing hangar floor..carpet...or?
PhreeZone replied to Skydive2's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I agree on the foam floor. You can get the pieces at most Home Improvement stores. They are sometimes sold as "Home gym flooring". I have seen them in both Grey and rainbow colors. If you are planing on parking the airplane on them every night just leave the tire spaces empty or else the plane will crush the foam after any time left on it. Reasonable cost expected for 1 hr coached in tunnel
PhreeZone replied to jtfreefly's topic in Wind Tunnels
I've had estimates from $150-350 per hour for the coaching fees and then the tunnel time on top of that depending on what I was looking to get coaching on. Are you looking for 1 on 1 coaching, team coaching, RW/Freefly or what are your goals? All of this comes into play in determining the coach you will want and their cost. I love my Firefly gear but overall most the jumpsuit manufacturers are horrible in their customer service. I ordered a new suit from one maker this year in May and got it in my hands at the start of October just in time to finish the season out 2 weeks later. My Firefly suit took 8 weeks the last time I placed an order and when I was looking at a new suit this time around I was quoted 13-15 weeks from one maker. Over all none of the makers are that great at delivery times or communicating to their customers in my experiences. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Does anyone have any favorite resources that they would recommend in performing a background/credit check on someone else? Wall Street protesters to occupy foreclosed homes
PhreeZone replied to dreamdancer's topic in Speakers Corner
Actually Andy he is right. BOA and other banks are giving homes away for free in certain areas of the city. Basically they are donating the homes into land banks like http://www.cuyahogalandbank.org/aboutUs.php and to people that are willing to take otherwise condemned structures to take the asset off the books since the banks know they will never be able to sell them. I know of a few projects where the city has been given multiple homes in an area that they have torn down and are now using as urban green space. For the bank these are truly toxic assets in that owning a home that is condemned in a bad neighborhood will sit on their books forever while they continue to pay taxes and any fines for lack of care to the property. They can either slowly bleed on these for years to come or they can take a one time hit and just eliminate the property from their books. For the land banks they are able to take the properties and use grants and other programs to clear the land or repair the homes to make them part of the community again or at least able to be rebuilt in the future. You are looking for a military surplus canopy. Not something that is used in sport jumping since we use square parachutes that are no larger than 10 feet*30 feet in size. Large round cargo canopies come up to 30 to 150 feet in diameter so you need to know just how large of one you need before getting something way too small or too large. For a 60 foot you are probably looking at $150 or more with all its lines cut off. Larger ones are only more expensive. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
