  1. According to their website, the AAC tunnel is still down awaiting installation of their new fan. AAC tunnel is about 5 hours from Columbus, GA. The Flyaway Pigeon Forge tunnel is about 5:45 from Columbus. Arrive Safely John

  8. When the Factory Diver first came out the instructions said to use water only. I still clean mine that way. I fill the sink with warm water, pull the face shield off the helmet and put it in the warm water for about 15 min to soak. Then I clean it with my fingers while holding it under the water. I pull it out, shake off the excess, then let it air dry on its side. I always have a spare ready to go in case mine becomes too nasty to see out of or gets cracked (I learned that habit from experience). Arrive Safely John
  9. My normal tandem deployment altitude (drogue released) is 5000 feet. If the spot is a bit long I will pull high so my camera flyer can make it back . . . rarely is the spot so long that a 5000 foot deployment will fail to bring me home. Arrive Safely John
  10. Just like shermanator I get phantom vibrations on my leg under the pocket where I keep my phone, which is always on vibrate when I carry it. Arrive Safely John
  11. I agree with Scott - easiest and fastest is to return it to the gear store you bought it from for an exchange. Since that sounds problematic, there is one intermediate step you may be able to take advantage of. HERE are the four Alti-2 Field Service Reps I know of in Australia. If you can contact one of them they might have a loaner you can use while yours goes back to Alti-2. Your unit definitely needs to go back to Alti-2. Arrive Safely John
  12. Yep. Look on the Alti-2 website and locate the Field Service Rep in your area and et him to update your firmware first. You can do it yourself if you're computer savvy. Once the firmware is updated the manual on the website will tell you exactly how to return the Neptune to default settings and/or reset the logbook. http://forum.altimaster.com/forumdisplay.php?s=0a643f05319a19718ff1dfb345982f5c&f=23 http://www.alti-2.com/neptune%20owners/Neptune_Docs/D-90086,%20User%20Manual,%20Neptune%202.pdf Arrive Safely John
  13. Ian Anderson and Martin Barre (the only two original members left) are both 61. "This Was" - their first album - came out in 1968. Arrive Safely John
  14. From the list you provided I choose Kraftwerk. From that era my own personal choice is Depeche Mode. "Policy of Truth" is one of my fave new wave tunes of all time. Arrive Safely John
  15. FYI, every Army risk assessment I ever saw for MFF operations was "Moderate Risk" at worst. Arrive Safely John
  16. Pro-Track uses a CR 2330 according to the manual: Search "Battery Replacement" - it's page 37 of the PDF: http://www.l-and-b.dk/pdf/english_protrack.pdf CR2330 can be had at Radio Shack or Batteries Plus Arrive Safely John
  17. Phreezone manages the classifieds but not the scams. Only Sangiro deals with the classified scams. Arrive Safely John

  19. I have attached a picture of what I consider the best safety device. Here are two links for you to do a little homework on the AAD and RSL: http://www.uspa.org/SIM/Read/Section5/tabid/168/Default.aspx#53g http://www.uspa.org/SIM/Read/Section5/tabid/168/Default.aspx#53f Arrive Safely John
  20. Although I tend to have a little trouble with those rolling dropdown menus, this site not only looks better than the last one, but it is much more functional. It's MUCH easier to locate things. Hats off to USPA for this improvement . . . the last one didn't do much. Arrive Safely John
  21. I got a nice loan from a friend and I am actually watching disc 8 of 10 right now. They are very strange indeed, but get much better as the episodes progress. Arrive Safely John
  22. That's a G-13. It's a cargo parachute - they were made in different colors so the type of supplies that were dropped could be color-coded, e.g. red for medical supplies, etc. I had to test on them in Rigger school and I had to pack them once for contingency stock cycles. I couldn't begin to remember how to pack one . . . it's been about 23 years since I've even seen one (they are no longer in service). Arrive Safely John
  23. I just watched a bit on the History Channel about beer and breweries. Apparently Samuel Adams is brewing the strongest beer in the world. "Utopias" is 27% alcohol (54 proof), is distilled (not fermented), and upon pouring has no head. Unusual to say the least. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utopias_%28beer%29#Utopias http://www.boston.com/lifestyle/food/articles/2008/01/23/this_extreme_beer_takes_it_to_the_limit_one_more_time/ Arrive Safely John
  24. I have had the same experience as TheCaptain: I have had two female students that were 4 FT 8.5 IN and the harness was not at its minimum limit. I would suggest finding out what type of tandem system the DZ they would jump at uses and calling the manufacturer of that system and discussing size issues with them. Then you have it from the horse's mouth. Arrive Safely John
