  1. ok, last time im telling you this. i can get you thursday night on my way to thomaston!!! and if i cant, i will have somone there for you.!
  2. true, but you have to learn how to get performance before you try to get more of it.
  3. Please elaborate - i am interested to hear your opinion on that. alot of people, mostly younger jumpers that are now getting into swooping dont even know how to fly the canopy. they got an idea and get lucky with a killer swoop ever now and then and think that adding weights will make that lucky swoop better. well it will, but getting lucky "consistantly" takes skill and practice and hard work and focus, if you only get lucky every now and then, that would mean you still need to learn more about the parachute. granted, getting lucky and finding that spot is how one learns. you take what you did and try to re create it. this is also why you should only change one thing at a time. so you can see what works and what doesnt. coaches can help also, by trying to explain where it is better to be, or what you should change next. adding weights comes when you get to a top notch pilot. then add weights to gain more performance. and adding weights wont gain you performance if you cant "consistantly" be in that spot.
  4. ya it is a catch, poor brittney needs a vx 60 to load it at 2.0, and well that is a tough size canopy to be cometitive with. especially in distance.
  5. yup, i think this is the way it should be. Don't you wear weights, Mark? I don't agree with this at all. One of my favorite things about the CPC Championships was having to deal with changing upwind/crosswind/downwind conditions. I also don't understand why you would advocate eliminating crosswind or downwind landings in zone accuracy but not for speed or distance. there was some peeps that scared me, and the judges, during the downwind zone acc. yes i do wear weights. only because i have to. because my competition is, and i know my competition, so i have to wear weights also to be competitive. this year was the first year i wore weights. and like i said. it was because i had to. and weights dont hurt me, they help. alot of peeps are hurting there swoops because of weights. but im no longer going to be in the cpc. i would be sandbagging the comp. if i was, so i was told. the downwind zone acc. was fun and challenging. but you have to admit, it wasnt for all the pilots there. it was a little scary.
  6. soon, probably january when your needing to stay current and it is cold.
  7. yup, i think this is the way it should be. also zone accuract for cpc pilots needs to be into the wind, or within 45 deg of the wind.
  8. Don't be surprised if this isn't the only camp. I've heard rumors of other camps next summer (specifically at a place you and Brits jumped at not long ago where the air is very thin and the canopies fly very fast and very far). But I am not the one organizing this, so I better keep my mouth shut so that I don't say the wrong things. ya, but there is somthing in the water in the southeast!
  9. tell ya what. you guys come out for the camp that we havent announced yet. soon, very soon. and i will come out there for a weekend. i can pick you two up at the airport and i have two extra bedrooms in my house, so no problem with a place to crash. so even trade?
  10. wow. so did you get wet? rears are fun, and arent as scary as you think. just find your stall point with them up high, and dont go past that point. once you learn to fly with rears, you will be flying a compleatly different canopy.
  11. sure, send one over. i will fly it for a bit.
  12. i will, but choose me last, im a little rusty. maybe shoot video? but no drag dammit. got to go fast. i cant stand all these tunnell rats i got to jump with!
  13. pfft...hater my CD book is so thick i use it as a weight in my trunk during winter when it snows, metal to classical, 90's 80's 50's 60's....etc.... with trance its less talkin more beats got to love the haters. anyway, matt will be playing a set live at the skydive atlanta halloween freefly festival if you wanna stop by. i thjink we got 4-5 dj's now. www.skydiveatlanta.com
  14. what is irrisponsible, is somone lisening to advice over the net when they have access to coaches. somone with 100 jumps isnt going to be able to pull the damn risers down much anyways. s turns on final no matter how you do it is dangerous to others in the pattern. and there is notheng wrong with useing rears, fronts, or toggles as controll inputs.
  15. need a ride? lol... get in touch, we might be able to work somthin out!
