I'm in no way saying you will have another, Im just stating the obsevation that the ones I have seen, I have seen more than once from the same instructors. my "observation" could include many many factors, including the fact that the laterals were not tight. I dont know what caused them, I just know that it always seems to happen to the same instructors.
-
let me know how that works out for you. ok, works fine for me.. thanks for asking.. every instructor I have seen in a sidespin, I have seen it happen to them more than once. every tandam instructor I have not seen a sidespin from, well I have not seen it... what exatcly are you asking me? how that works out? it is an observation that Im willing to bet, ALOT of video guys would agree on.
-
sorry, I think it is more like 18" now that I think of it.
-
I will be there, with an entire crew in tow. that is as long as the ones taking care of me when I get there are able to come also.

the only issue I can see here, is this stuff is alrady invented. there is no reason to reinvent the wheel.. now, to answer your question. 12 inches or so on the two attatchment points, and 6-8 feet on the bag attatchment lanyard. don't try to fix something that isn't broke, and be very very careful about trying to reinvent the wheel.

was that a water displacement contest?

yo shorty!!! whats up girll.. you SWOOPIN yet? lol.. hahaha, anyway, if you are balled up, like "cannonball" style, like your jumping into a pool, all the instructor has to do is spread his arms and legs out, and that "between the two of you" creates an "arch". picture it in your head. It is a very safe way to exit, and will cause less instability problems then having a student try to "fly" thair body on exit when they don't know how to. this really only applies if your balled up. if you stick arms or legs out, that can create a propeller, and that could cause stability problems.. but you are less likely to do this if your told to ball up until they tap you. they will only usually tap you "after" the drouge is out. you can't cause much harm then. hope your doing well, keep in touch!

C.J.,, explain please..

if you have ever seen a sidespin, and seen it live, and also been lucky enough to see it happen with more than one instructor, more than once each instructor. you will notice sidespins always seem to happen the same instructors, if it happens to them once, it usually happens to them again. the instructors that have never experienced one, quite likely never will.

When it was experimental, then the manufacturers could require anything they wanted too, and they required a FAA medical. In 2001, the FAR's changed. Once you have been trained and certified by the manufacturer or USPA, there are no FAA currency requirements. My tandem jump earlier this year was 100% legal, even the USPA BOD's came to that conclusion. They also realized that there should be some sort of FAR mandated currency requirements. Derek So, your saying I have NO excuse to not do tandems anymore? I HATE YOU!!!!!
-
is that something that was required back when it was experimental then? or was that just the manufacturer.
-
you mean a class 3 medical? It is a requirement by the FAA to get a class 3 medical when doing tandems, because the instructor is considered the "pilot in charge". so, it is a requirement. if you really mean a class 1, I don't think that is really necessary.
-
you forgot "respect", all that shit goes out the window without it.
-
I'm sure this guy is reading this, he has to be... yo, I want to talk to you. and I want to talk on the phone. Im not with USPA, hell Im not with anyone, I just have a few questions, that are compleatly non judgmental. and everything talked about will be just me and you.. PM me, and I will give you my phone number, so we can chat... they are just questions, no judgment nothing... later..

Didn't we just have a thread about this...oh wait... Over a longer period, with a shallower climb angle perhaps? Or just the perception thing causing different inputs? I'm not really sure why you climb off the water more when going downwind. I think it may be because of too much input because your perception is off and you add too much input too quick, which will cause you to swing underneath and then it climbs. I still think it is because of the pilot and not the canopy.

hopefully sooner rather than later.
-
because, once you see it fly, or fly one. it is obvious that it is a higher performance wing. and please understand that I truly do feel that way, it is the highest performing canopy on the market, I have jumped all the crossbraced canopies, and the JVX is the best thing available now. that may change soon, Im hoping it does, evolution is what im seeking!

marks replied to agent_lead's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
yes,.. hopefully, we will see it soon. but it takes work, and it IS being worked on. -
