  2. Hey I just wanted to give a big thanks to Greg Gasson and Brent Finley for the seminars in eloy. Check out their sites, these two have a ton of experience and talent! Also thanks to Brent for the replacement part donation ! and thank you greg for the jump and video, i really appreciated it. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  3. Shawn, this much i do know very well. My point was just to Phreezone that it's innapropriate for him to make blanket statements about every camera flyer. I knew personally one of those fatalities you are refering to. And i know too well that shit can happen... peace lew http://www.exitshot.com

  6. It's not that simple, of course. Per your analogy, the gas is not the same. If it was, then no parent would pay thousands each year to send their kids to private school. Yet at my school and many in California, there are waiting lists to get into a private school. Parents pay for more individualized attention, tougher curriculum, higher expectations and more opportunities. How many people pay and extra 20 cents per gallon for Premium gas? If public schools didn't exist like you want, I'd fear the quantity of children who wouldn't receive any education at all. Unfortunately not all parents care enough to pay money for basic necessities. Peace http://www.exitshot.com
  7. Nightingale is right. I teach in a private school and started with significantly less than a first year teacher in the local public school. Private schools also loose teachers to public because they need the extra money. And while i have invested several hundred dollars each year in supplies for my kids, I usually can get what I ask for for my classes. The teaching environment is definately worth the difference in pay for me at least. I teach 5 classes ranging in size from 10 to 18 kids (compared to public typical class sizes upwards of 30), and the parents are usually very involved. It makes a difference. Kids rise to expectations, and the expectations to further education into college is standard for every student I teach. A good point was made about extra curricular stuff, I mean, everyone knows we spend hours every night grading and planning, but most of us also spend personal time regularly to go to games and plays and art shows and you name it, to show support for our kids. Like parents, but we have 80 kids to support. This year already I've been to a horse show, soccer game, volleyball games, football games, basketball games, a musical and a band concert. Oh yeah, and a Bat Mitzvah. I also often help my kids with homework over IM in the evenings. but like someone said, we do it becuase we LOVE the kids. Kallen are you talking about secondary education teachers or college prof salaries? ok, back to grading semester finals... peace lew http://www.exitshot.com

  9. i didn't find beef with it. Don't get so defensive man. No one here has criticized you or your wife's choice. I am a bit confused though. I thought you said your wife was a stay at home mom (which is cool), but you're saying she's a "TEACHER" now. I know, granted, that all moms are in a sense teachers and role-models and nurses etc., but there is a difference between teaching your own children and teaching 80 children in a classroom setting. So, does your wife teach in a school or did you mean she is a teacher because she is a mom? what school? what grade? when did anyone say that besides you? Are you insecure about it? It's obvious you love your wife very much and appreciate her. And you have your ideal living arrangement, so that's awesome. There's nothing wrong with that. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com

  13. I'm curious, what's the price and where was it advertised? Make sure it is advertised from a local retail store's online site as they will not match it if it just from a internet business without a physical store like they say in their policy. As for your Elph, if it's a digital Elph, you might want to read this. I think there are a few people who've tried to modify it for a bite switch, but i have not heard of any successful results yet in the sky. There was this guy http://skyelph.homestead.com/ who modified Elph's film cameras, i'm not sure if he's doing it anymore, but you can contact him and ask. good luck, peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  14. So you're teaching your kids that material things are more important than having a "noble" career, or a career that you enjoy? What about the mother (or father for that matter) that does all of that.... and has a full-time career? And Pammi, thank you. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  15. and wish him happy holidays... I left him to visit my family for a week, so he's by himself right now... 555-555-5555 Don't tell him i posted this though :) thanks! peace lew http://www.exitshot.com

  17. tuna and chris, i agree with both of you. I think pilots definitely put their time in to earn the big bucks later in their careers, and teachers deserve more off the bat if only for the reason that it would be a more appealing profession and draw more qualified applicants... I do think pilots have lives in their hands like chris said, and that has merit... But then again, so do TandemMasters :) who are putting themselves at more risk... but that's a whole other thread... if only a few CEO's would give better xmas presents to their kids' math teacher i have to go wrap presents now and think about how i'm going to pay off my credit card... no xmas bonus from a school... peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  18. Yeah Yeah Yeah!!!! teachers deserve more pay!!! Thank you for saying so, as I feel appreciated sometimes by kids and parents, but not by the rest of the world. I'd love it if others could experience my 7th graders for a week. For me the brainwork isn't an issue, it's just soooo draining and soooo time consuming (except for summer ) Although i don't think pilots deserve teachers pay, shit, i can't think of any profession who deserves teacher's pay. i also got a put a vote in here for Architects being underpaid, my brother is an architect and he makes less than I do! Is there a list anywhere of the 10 most underpaid professions/jobs? peace lew http://www.exitshot.com

    13 inches

Cool!!! Thanks everyone. Chopping it off wasn't as hard as i thought it would be, i like it. And I'm excited to send it to Locks Of Love... I also want to encourage anyone with long hair to let it grow a little longer than normal and cut it shorter than normal to make a donation. they need at least 10". I could have cut way more if i could stand being bald but I look bad with real short hair, so i gave what works for me. There's another skydiver from Richmond, IN, who had hair to his waist and he shaved it and donated almost 2 ft!!!! So guys, if you have long hair, it's easier for you to make a dramatic change, send it to http://www.locksoflove.org/... thanks guys! Happy holidays and all that, see you in eloy soon! peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
