I did a quick search for this but didn't really come up with anything, sorry if it is a duplicate. I am trying to learn headdown, it seems that I am having the typical newbie problems, lazy legs and back sliding, haven't really found my 'head' yet. My FF suit has little drag on it due to the fact that I am pretty light. When I started belly flying and sitflying I had a problem with my fallrate, but once I overcame that, I have found I have a great amount of range, it's just a little bit frustrating when you are trying to learn something new. My question is: when people are starting to learn sitflying people say to start learning in shorts and a baggy long sleeve t-shirt since having drag on top helps. Correct me if I am wrong, but I would think that having a lot of drag at the bottom of my FF suit would help me find the HD position I am looking for. I'm getting a little bit frustrated because I am not progressing as fast as I would like, I definately need to spend more time concenrating only on HD, which I haven't done yet, but I would like to approach it as efficient as possible. Soooo for those experts out there and people who have faced the same hurdles, do you think I should switch to my baggy FF pants (I already have a pair so it wouldn't be a big deal) and learn with some training wheels? I am totally a believer in flying your body and not your suit, but I would like to make some progress the quickest way possible. Or would it make things harder when I switch back to my regular FF suit? thanks!! Chrissy ~La La Gang Member #2~

I have had both a one piece and a two piece. I really like my 2 piece. I haven't found it to fly different than a one piece. It looks like a one piece once you have it on and I have not had a problem with the top riding up or coming untucked. I also like it because I hate packing in a jumpsuit so I can just take off the top and pack. And as someone else mentioned, you can just jump the pants when it gets warm and throw on a t-shirt. My suit was made by FireFly, and I am totally happy with it ~La La Gang Member #2~

Legally, if your company employes more than 20 people they are required to offer you COBRA no matter how you leave your job. It is usually very expensive, depending on how good your insurance is...$300-$500 a month. COBRA lasts 18 months. The pre-existing condition clause is waived (under HIPAA) as long as you have 18 months of continuous coverage with a break of no more than 63 days. They should provide you with a HIPAA certificate to prove your coverage dates. Individual policies are usually more strict, many health insurances do not cover hazardous activities. So if you have more than 18 months of continuous coverage they won't be able to deny you for a pre-existing, but they could deny you because skydiving is not covered under their policy. You can request their Summary Plan Description which spells out EXACTLY what is and is not covered. I use to administer health insurance, so let me know if you have anymore questions The one thing about COBRA though is companies do not want people on it. Adminstratively it is a pain in the a**. So if you do elect it, they will not send you bills or payment reminders, and once you don't pay your monthly premium, you are terminated and will not be able to get back on it. edited to add: my disclaimer: it has been a few years since I have worked in the health care industry, but I doubt anything has changed that much. ~La La Gang Member #2~

AntiPinkChrissy replied to alanab's topic in Freeflying
here is a link to the goggles http://www.paragear.com/frame.asp?main=search.asp by the way, it sounds like wrongway gave some great information about suits. but for me personally, whenever i buy a new suit or canopy, i like to talk to woman who have experience with the product to see what they think and what works best for them as well. sorry wrongway! i reread my post and i didn't want it to sound like mens advice wasn't important as well!! all information is valuable! ~La La Gang Member #2~ -
ordering my first freefly suit.... need help please!
AntiPinkChrissy replied to alanab's topic in Freeflying
hey alana, bummer i didn't get to meet you this weekend. Saw the video that my boyfriend Sporto shot and you looked great. anyway, i don't have enough freefly experience to recommend how to order your suit. I would recommend finding a very experienced freefly chic and seeing what she says, hopefully one will pipe in on this thread. In my experience so far, men don't understand that we have different challenges in skydiving than they do, including suits and canopy choices. I ordered my suit from Firefly and told her I needed a fast suit with little extra on it, and it came out awesome. As for the goggles, I use blaze, they are still a bit big on my face, but I think they are the smaller of most goggles. I have yet to find a pair of sunglasses to fit my freakish face! ~La La Gang Member #2~ -

DZ near Ann Arbor, Michigan?
AntiPinkChrissy replied to mt_skydiver's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Hello! Welcome to Michigan if you end up moving here. The closest dropzone is Skydive Tecumseh, phone is 517.423.7720, located in Tecumseh, MI, it is about 35 minutes from Ann Arbor, depending on where you are coming from. Our season officially started April 1!! Whhoohooo!! We have a Super Otter for the ride to altitude and a large landing area. There is camping and showers available on sight. It is my home DZ so I think it is great , but really, there are a lot of friendly people there and plenty of skilled belly flyers and freeflyers. We have some cool boogies planned for this summer, so stop by and check us out. cya Chrissy ~La La Gang Member #2~ -

:1:1 We had funky winds on Saturday so I only made one jump and Sunday was cold and very windy. BUT, the one jump I made on Saturday was my first camera jump! BEER! I even hit record and had the other jumper centered the whole time...although I could have been closer. ~La La Gang Member #2~
