It seems that you and the professor lost sight of the context of what this thread is about, a deranged woman in a illegal possesion of a firearm. In most US states, a backgroung investigation when purchasing a firearm will bring up any issues you may have had with police, courts and mental health facilites. IE: lets say you have a firearm, and a clean record etc, but you were a postal worker, as this woman was that went berzerk and removed by force, and fired from your work. (two things happened, this woman was evaluated as a mental ill person, and had her rendevouz with the PD. If you did own or have a Concealed weapon permit/firearm you will be required to surrender all of your permits, firearms and ammo, as it will be treated as a federal felony the possession of any , ammo and firearms. But then again, you never miss the opportunity of bashing the US, as usual. Hence I'm not surprised.
