As far as professional skydiving videos go, there are no cheap ones. The limited market keeps the price up. I am a sucker for skydiving videos and have bought almost all of them new. You might save $5.00 or $10.00 if you shop around but the prices are usually about the same. Para-gear has the largest selection. Some others are Pier Ltd, Square 1, Sunshine Factory, SkyKat Gear Shop and Skydiving Magazine. Of course you can copy many of them illegally but I don't support that...I want these guys to continue making videos. BTW, the three best skydiving videos (IMHO of course) are GOOD STUFF, CROSSWIND AND CHRONICLES 3. __________________________________________

Serious question. Is doing it at repack time not enough? And why? That's all I've done so far, but I want to be reasonably safe. __________________________________________

***Well, yes I let the brake lines out and yes I am educated on canopies. I am not sure why "out diving" the Sabre2 is a plus or why colored packing tabs are better, (unless you are using it as a training tool, and of course it packs smaller- it has about half the stitching! --------------------------- Looks like you are the one throwing jabs. I have been pleased with my Hornet. A more experienced jumper let my brake lines out about 2 inches and the buffeting problem was gone. I learned to pull the slider back toward the nose before wrapping the tail and now my openings are fine. I will withhold judgement on 'surf-ability' until I jump a Sabre, not that I can swoop anyway! The packing tabs...hell yes, they are great for us "newbies". The canopy packs easy...I don't know about the 'stitching' issue, perhaps you could enlighten me why this is a concern. __________________________________________

Hope it's ok to ask this here. I'm looking for Michael Mcgowans Greatest Hits video. The man himself couldn't even find a copy laying around and the gear stores no longer have it in stock. PM me...I'll pay for your dusty old copy! __________________________________________

Kinesthesia (Norman Kent) Basic Body Flight Body Pilot in Command Free...no! Kind of expensive. I lend out my copies all the time. Ask around your DZ. Maybe someone can lend you a copy. __________________________________________

------------------ Can you get video of a couple openings? Might help...can't hurt. __________________________________________

----------------------------------------------- I'm still working on this. All the advice is great, but you have to be super aggressive. Pissed off aggressive! I WILL...GO...URRRGH...BACK UP. Whew. __________________________________________

---------------------------------------------- My suggestion. Do the rehab your doctors tell you to. In my experience so few do . They are good for a while then the knee gets better, they get lazy, do something stupid, the knee never gets back to 100%. It can be as strong as before but only with patience. If you are young, fit, dedicated and genetically lucky it might be a shorter rehab than what the doctors say. I wouldn't count on it though. By the way, I'm sitting here with a broken ankle, and I'm not sure I can even follow my own advice. I have to get back in the air!!! __________________________________________

------------------ I am very sad to here this as well. I did get my video two weeks ago and an apology from Will. Ironically, he said the videos had been sitting on the back burner because he was 'training in a new plane'. __________________________________________

The quick answer to all your questions is 'yes'. Color negative processing is generally standardized. The one problem I see with your plan to pick out 'the shot you really like' is that, printed poorly, you may not like it and may throw it out as being a crappy shot. There is a lot of manipulation that can be done to a color negative, but only if you are aware of it. Find someone at a professional lab that will answer questions for you if you think the shot merits attention. __________________________________________

A quick question. How to make things clicky if you want to refer someone to a web page or topic? And thanks in advance to those of you willing to coach us computer illiterates. __________________________________________

Check out www.sportrx.com for prescription goggles. __________________________________________

I don't know about downloading, but if you ask around your DZ to see if anyone has Norman Kents 'Kinesthesia' or Basic Body Flight w/Jack Jeffries that they could loan you. I paid about $50.00 each for them. Ouch! __________________________________________

Two questions to anyone that's got time to answer. 1. How do I select part of a message to respond to? I assume you hit the quote or reply prompt next to the persons message that you want to respond to? But how to select just part of it? 2. What the heck is "LOL"? I am embarrassed just to ask. Reminds me of the time I was playing Trivial Pursuit and I was the only one who didn't know who Tutenkamen(sp?) was! __________________________________________

I love this statement! (may have to borrow it) __________________________________________

My wife flipped through her risers twice on the 3 second delay. It really got to her. She was unable to jump for a while. Eventually she did another tandem just to get out of the plane, then she went somewhere else and did AFF until Level 5, then came back and finished her student progression. If you love this sport ( and I bet you do), you'll find your own way through this. __________________________________________

I wear mine a little tighter than I probably should while belly flying. It just feels more secure. As a student my instructors would loosen it , when they looked away I would tighten it. When 'trying' to freefly I tighten things down even more. __________________________________________

Not the most optimistic take on a great accomplishment. Congratulations! My wife and I both went through a great deal of anxiety at your stage. Some people appear not to. I don't necessarily envy them. I got the most amazing high going through the fear/anxiety...and I think that's the key. Going through those feelings, not around them. In other words do what you have to do to get yourself out of the plane. The jump numbers will help get the anxiety down. DOOR! I used to dread that word, now I salivate. __________________________________________

That's all I needed to hear. Thanks! __________________________________________

QuoteI vote tandem. Jumping out of an airplane is never a waste of money. Then do AFF. And S/L too, if you can! There is nothing more scary and fun than hanging off the 182 strut on your first solo. Waste of money!? I don't think so. Get used to spending it on skydiving, you're going to be with us for a long, long time! __________________________________________

I have been going through lots of rubberbands (and extra time packing) to get really tight line stows. After hearing of your experiment and listening to what 'rigging65' said in the 'Hard Opening' thread, I am going to ease off on the hard stows, but still enough to keep the lines orderly. Maybe I'll sweat less this summer! I work way too hard packing. __________________________________________

Does anyone know Will Forshay, the person who made this video? It has been two months since I ordered and paid for it. No response from him via e-mail. I thought perhaps he got hurt or something!? Anyone know??? __________________________________________

Say you turn on your Cypress Saturday, come back Sunday and board the plane 13 hours and 55 minutes later. Will your Cypress shut down on the ride to altitude? __________________________________________

I have a Hornet 150 that was giving me very fast openings. I had heard about Hornets doing this so I was rolling the nose a lot. As soon as I quit rolling the nose and pulled the quarter of slider facing me out to catch more air I began having normal openings. Also tight stows. Way too many people have loose band stows. __________________________________________
