helpand answers needed immediately, with 'almost new' gear...
Kuper replied to Kuper's topic in Gear and Rigging
hey! i want to buy an 'almost new' gear from someone and i have 3 questions (i have a lot more but these are very important right now): 1. what is the difference between Cypres 1 and 2? i remember that some people complain that the battery life is shorter or something like that, and that they hda problems with it - because they bought Cypres2.... or something like that. so what's the story of that Cypres2? is it bad? good? live longer? shorter? please explain to me... 2. let's say the guy had just 25 jumps on that rig and main, no reserve rides, and let's say he owns it from last March. let's say he didn't jump on it for the last 2-2.5 months (but the reserve was packed and checked 2 month ago +/-). and let's say i want to jump with it. DO I NEED TO BE AFRAID TO TAKE IT because of the fact that nobody jumped on it for the last 2 month and that it was closed in a bag or closet? if the rigger knows the rig (and he knows it the best) and he is the one who packed it's reserve - DO I NEED TO BRING IT TO HIM TO OPEN/ check etc.???? i really don't know! 3.i always jumped on the rigs of the DZ. the smaller i used there (the smaller they got for rent) is (wings i suppose) 230. no matter what - if that new rig sits good on me - i'll probably enjoy it very much, becase i don't know anyting else... now i'm getting to the point: maybe the weather will be bad till the guy live abroad and i won't have the chance to jump with it. IS IT REALLY SO IMPORTANT TO ME TO TRY IT IN THE AIR, after the riger gave me the 'ok' when he saw it on me? i mean - i know nobody else than me can feel it, but with my newbie (47jumps) situation i can't feel that it's not good... thanx! i'll appreciate every piece of answer from your points of view... hi everybody! i want to buy a rig from someone (includes vectorIII, Silhouette 190, PD Reserve 176, Cypres. 20 jumps!) but i'm trying to compare the price to a 'whole new one' first... i found some prices on the net (for the container, main and reserve) i hope they are the real prices, but i haven't found the price for Cypres yet. according to what you know - what is the price for a new Cypres? and generaly - what tips you have for me when buying an 'almost new' gear like that ? (let's say my JM and rigger already agreed that it's good for me) what can be the price for a rig like that? i'll appreciate any answer :) thanx, Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com

i've already discussed it with some people in the dz, and beacuse of that i even try to do 'all' (we can still count them on one hand but who gives a !@#) my maneuvers with my face to the Carmel mountain. it's more easy to me to find a heading point on it than in the sea. although on sunsets u can't help staring to that opposit side of the jumping course. but thanx anyway falxori! i always happy to hear more and learn more from good people who can teach me things... falxory - i think i'm gonna be tomorrow (Friday) in the dz. will you be there ? http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
-
i guess...

guys, i'm happy for you - that you have all those DZs and all those good people. maybe it's the situation at my DZ too, but i just didn't try to find it till now... i hope that next time i'll jump it would be with other people around in the sky
-
that's ok. it's not the pressure, it's the opportunity...
-
no... and i won't be able to take the one this week - because of the army... but i do counting on jumping with people in my level. although i know you'r up high above my level -you didn't answer to my quastion: would you/ you + your friend - jump RW with me? it can be more fun to chase even another man in the sky...

to ask people for an advice is one thing (i do), and to ask to jump with them (i don't do, yet) - is another. till now the only person i approach in order to jump with was Itzik Gershon - because i knew he was in my level. we talked about jumping together someday, and even ask permission from Mordi - because we both need to practice with other people and want to stop jump alone everytime. i'm asking people many times to advice me, or to teach me things I want to do, but still need their/ someone's explanation before... falxori - you wrote here about approach veterans. today i can approach people, but as you know - most of the skydivers in our DZ do not do belly jumps (anymore), and when they r - they have their own closed team. i don't say it can't be found at all - see my case with the Atkin's (KINGS) which was great. but it's hard to find... for me it's still fun everytime though i jump belly - but for them (or you - the veterans) i'm afraid it's an unwanted thing anymore and maybe you don't enjoy it as i do. am i right? maybe the reason i didn't try to find other ppl till now - was that i hadn't the license nor the permission to jump with everyone i want. i hope now it'll be easier - this 'approaching' thing. and if we r talking about approaching: Falxori - will YOU want to belly jump with me? (CrazyIvan - i'll tell you when i'll get your DZ

i know that the best way for a newbie to learn (and be safe!) is with an experienced one, but most of the time - there are no any experienced people who'll want to spend a jump on a newbie. they have their own groups, and many times they not do (anymore) belly jumps - just vertical jumps. that's why i want to jump with other people in my level - and of course with the permission and instructions from our JM.... http://www.orikuper.printroom.com

hey everybody! i wasn't in the site for few months, sorry... so these are the thing that happend since the last time i wrote in here: i got my A lisence last week - but i did it just on my 30 jump (i have just one DZ in here and o'm not going to go abroad now - so i really didn't need it nor need it now yet). at my 26-27 jumps i was with a group of 3 of a 4 RW team - they just asked who want to jump with them and learn about the base and skills of RW. ofcourse i came (and i was the only one! so they jumped with me twice! :)! and it was free too (they r not instructors - just good people) so it was like a jump with instructor - but not! ha ha ha! all the newbies like me - you can't imagine what things you can learn just from flying with other people around you - although it's 'just' belly dive! and from their video too! it was really cool. now i'm tring to find someone in my level (30jumps) to start jump and work with ... attached - 5 pictures captured from the video of those 2 RW jumps... and thanx to Adi Atkin and his guys of the RW team!!! have fun and blue skies to you all! Hey! Well Done! i read the whole thing... i did level 4 for 4 (?!) times beacuse of those mad spins. i wans't stable till the time a jumped all alone (i even took the solo dive for trying level 7 again but it didn't work). i was stable and heading just on that time i leaved the plane all alone (i think it was my 12th jump). as u wrote here - now u have other thing to learn, and me too. i got my A lisence last week - but i did it just on my 30 jump (i have just one DZ in here and o'm not going to go abroad now - so i really didn't need it nor need it now yet). at my 26-27 jumps i was with a group of 3 of a 4 RW team - they just asked who want to jump with them and learn about the base and skills of RW. ofcourse i came (and i was the only one! so they jumped with me twice! :)! and it was free too (they r not instructors - just good people) so it was like a jump with instructor - but not! ha ha ha! you can't imagine what things you can learn just from flying with other people around you - although it's 'just' belly dive! and from their video too! it was really cool. now i'm tring to find someone in my level (30jumps) to start jump and work with him.... on that lisence jump last week i saw myself in the video 'moving aside' in front of the JM before i was stable in front of him. but i think it's just a minor thing which we can easily get rid of - if we need at all... good luck to you - try to find someone who can jump with you - and you'll learn a lot... blue skies, Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com

thanx! i'll use that... http://www.orikuper.printroom.com

hey! i havn't a helmet and goggles of my own yet, and i want to buy some goggles like Peerser or Blaze models. i still jump with those simple helmets of the club (which looks like skates helmet), and i want to know if the Peerser can be adjusted to those helmets... as you know - if it is: i need to wear it ON the helmet (i'm afraid it'll fall off) or BENEATH it? thanx Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com

what do you mean? probably i don't know the right phrase for this - but what people wrote here sounds like the thing that man does - it looks like a long and fast spiral downface. if it's not - what can it be and how he do that? http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
-
ok. thank u nightjumps! it does help, because i wanted to be sure of this thing and those body positions while still not on the plain or at the dz - for imagine it (it sometimes helps...) for the case of finding a coach or someone else jump with me - i hope it'll be ok, and that someday - i will jump with others - it looks like a REAL fun! tomorrow (hmmm it's today yet 01:03 here) they gonna have the Israeli skydiving championship in the dz but they do not want people with dz's rigs to jump on that day! maybe i'll go there just to have a look and to feel the spirit (blah blah blah). it can be nice (though i planned to jump!) thanx again and have a blue sky, Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com

thanx guys! your answers helps a lot i'll ask the one who do that things anyway, but do you think there is any problem that i'll do that - still on a student gear? p.s. they DO teach us that during the AFF lessons in here in Israel - about the rear risers as an option when we have broken lines etc. OR when we want to move from a crash with another parachute in front of us during opening... but they didn't tell us how to do those great spirals... it looks very fun though... http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
-
'superman' style you mean hands straight ahead? and 'delta' like in the regular body position? http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
-
i havn't my A license yet but i was wondering... which one of the risers do what? according to what i know (which is not enough yet) the rear risers should be an optional way to steer the canopy. but if the toggles are OK - why would i want to use the rear risers? is it's influence more fast and massive? i see guys do great hoops - not only near the ground - i'm talking about fast and hard continually circles with face to ground - still in a high alti. are they use the risers? which one? if so - what the other risers do? is it safe to use them in student (club) rigs?
-
well done! congratulations! i have a question: what is 'hop n pop'? have fun! (i'm now on my way to an A too..isn't it great?) blue sky, Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com

i had 19 jumps till now, but i screwd up in the levels of flying forward and backward during my AFF lessons (i had a lot of uncontrolled turns, so i didn't have even the chance to try flying forward or backword with my instructor). now i controll my turns and that's good, but for flying forward and backward - is there any way to work on it when you still jump ALONE? i thought to find a mark on the groung or something, but it still seems not the best way to do that.... thanx, and have a blue sky!
