thanx verybody here, i put my PC101E with X0.45 last week on my BoneHead Pimp Daddy helmet. I did some tandem shooting with it, and i think i'll move the camera in it's box a bit, or even buy another lens (X0.43). it's great though! here are some pics of the setup. tell me what you think. next week i'll get my Rebel XT. i'll wait a bit before mounting it too, but i'll let you know thanx again! i don't know what's it's name abroad (what is it?), but our old good master rigger calls it 'the Silence Cone' - and refer to the 2 imaginary cones above and under the tandem pair. we sometimes make a laugh about that phrase, but he's very right though. and you skysurfcam right about it too. i think that the risk beeing there for filming a customer's opening - just not worth it. it makes change just for us the jumpers, and we always have to remember that no matter how filming a tandem can be boreing, it have to be good and safe for our customer, and we shouldn't make our work jumps into fun jumps... man - you'r really close there... aren't you? i'm an editor at my dz and working now on my own tandem shooting skills, and i've never seen anyone goes THAT close while opening... it looks very scary. i watched it twice and still in a little shock how far are you from them (on the 1st and 2nd openings)? and with what lens? oh - and for the 3rd open - what a pitty... i'm a chief editor, and we're using an 'old' TRV 3CCD for editing (old but still the best pic). the photographers just bring their tapes, each is labled with a number, and we write it down in a list with tan. inst. and photographers names etc. we have 2 editing stations in the editing room, and on the other station i'm working with PC8 - again, that the dz bought for all those 'just in case' cases. that way i can work on 2 movies parallel . good luck with your new editing station! if you need any suggestion just ask

hi all, after dreaming about 20D for few month, i think i'll go for the REBEL XT (350D), and that's just because i heard Canon put some good improvments in it. the problem is, that the old Drebel seems to do problems in the air (error 99 for example) and because of that - to miss the jump. last weekend we missed a pic of a new record because of that error... 1. and good/ bad thoughts of you guys about those 2 cameras? 2. does someone know what makes these errors like the 99 on the Rebel? how can we prevent them? i heard it something with the lense, but i'm not sure, and also the lens in weekend was Canon's too... thanks and blues! well, my profile is up to date, and i do want to get into it smart and safe (maybe i'm lucky that money is still a barrier). i just sometimes find the stills photos of skydiving much more impressive then the videos. that's why i'm rushing to jump both - a video and a stills camera, though i want to do it the best and safe way i can... i take into my considerations the things you write here... http://www.orikuper.printroom.com

i have a bonehead pimp daddy 04 and i want to put a stills camera on it's top one day. i read the discussion in which you all posted your camera setups - guys it's a great one well, i'll try to separate my tripod mount questions here: there are tripod mounts that aren't in the camera center, or under the lens center. even if i buy some good camera (D20 for example) it's mount is under the lens center, but that place isn't the camera exact center - so it can pull all that structure (and my head!) to the side, be more dangerous with the canopy lines, etc. etc. 1. does the tripod mount place on the base of the camra has to be a parameter when i search what to buy? 2. let's say i won't have a too wide angel lens for my beginning (probably just the 18mm of the kit). i guess that if the lens center line won't be in the center of my helmet top - it'll affect my pics. will it? 3. seem to me that anyway the top center is the best place for the tripod mount. will i need or want to mount it aside because one of the reasons above??? 4. do u suggest build a wide base all over the helmet's width and put a tripod mount 'somewhere' on it, or a centered mount on the top is enough? (!@#$! there are so many options for those things!!!!!!) i'd like to hear any thoughts and suggestions in that issue. thanx and blue sky everyone! Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com

attached is the list of our 'GOLD' album (for now anyway) for the tandem movies. you probably already have most of them, but who knows... if it helps you i can put here the 2 versions we had before i uniteed them into that ('make me wanna shoot myself' music) Gold Album... there are few more we crowned as best, but most of them are here. some of them were edited by me (cut silence in the begining for a synced jump out, better and shorter mixes, etc). if you need anything - let me know. good luck!
