  1. I'm torn between the "Loud Sigh" and "Whatever"!
  2. Whatever!!! I can't get enough of these. They're hysterical!
  3. Dude, that's an awesome picture!!! It has to be the funniest picture I have ever seen in skydiving! Especially titled AFF L1. I would put the pic of you in the deployment sequence closest to the ground! You're going to love that picture later in your skydiving career!!! When you were editing out your instructors, were they giving you the pull signal? I don't mean to be rude but- Isn't that like when your child comes home with their first drawing, and you are forced to hang it on the fridge? I think it's cute.
  4. It's already been said; everyone deals with it differently. When my boyfriend frapped in (not a fatality), I was maifested for the next load. Somebody asked me if I still wanted on it. I said no because I was going to the hospital. Had it been a fatality, I'm not sure what I would have chosen. Regardless, I would expect a friend to drag me to the plane, if necessary.
  5. Unfortunantly, PIA's website is temporarily down. PIA.com I think it's close to what you're looking for.
  6. I noticed a few posts in another thread regarding ticket prices and jump planes. At The Ranch in Gardiner, NY (starting 08April), tickets to altitude are $22 USD. Here is The Fleet
  7. He purchased a new Gateway Desktop. The cards he purchased ( I think he tried 2) said Vista compatible(software). The damage to the computer occurred when he tried to install one of the cards into the PCI slot with the power on.- so I'm told. The manufaturer had the computer for a month and he received it today- with no wireless card and /or software installed. I'll ask him what they said. He's now plotting ways to drill holes in the brand new house!
  8. My roommate got a new desktop computer with Vista. He has tried multiple wireless cards with no success. In fact, he "fried" the computer at one point and had to send it back under warranty. I told him to put XP on it....but that's a no go. Anyway, does anybody know of a wireless card that is compatible with Vista? Any help is appreciated!
  9. Yes. IIRC, Dr. Kubler-Ross explains DABDA as the 5 stages of dying based on the psychological reaction. HS? - I didn't read it until college (PSY Death and Dying)
  10. Parkerizing is a better finish but then again it depends on its use. It you want to hang it on the wall and shoot it once a year, bluing is fine. As long as the steel is not from China, it should be alright.
  11. Milled are definitely better than stamped. May be a little pricey for just the receiver, but not too much. As far as the finish, it depends on what type of use the gun will see. Parkerized or blue are both good. "From my cold dead hands"
  12. Umm, but you wrote earlier... Make up your mind! Are you mentally challenged or just ignorant? I can pick one, or I can pick ten on that link alone. I don't feel the need to spoon feed you your opinion. Or do you need me to spell it out in one syllable words? I KAN DU DAT 2. O-K? I believe my point/view has been crystal clear throughout this entire thread. Perhaps you should read the entire thread and if that fails, work on reading comprehension. However, if you would like to discuss the UN's corrupt oil for food program, we can do that too.
  13. Ahhh. Any and all atrocities and human rights abuses are ok, as long as no-one finds out. Got it. Bad dental plans and milky white skin may be your idea of utopia. However, it's not necessarily everybodys opinion. When the United State's unemployment rate tops the UKs, then you can malign us. Until such time, continue to take your snaggle toothed unemployed bum to the welfare office this Monday morning. I hear you get the best food stamps from the Dole, early in the month. Chop, chop! How 'bout some tea n crumpits?
  14. My post was in reply to Kallend, not jakee. I would not ask a person that has to go to their local police station to sign out their hunting rifle and return it when they're finished. However, in debates, it's easy to pick and choose material to support your point of view. Take your pick Also, show where I've changed my views in this discussion. Well, you've just narrowed down about 90% of this site! It's times like these that really bring out the Hillary in Libs. "Give me liberty or give me death"
  15. As a professor, you certainly know how to cross reference. However, we both know you're just being impertinently bold. How about we go straight to the UN website, since you don't find the NRA site objective.
  16. Whomever leaked the information about any form of interrogation, should be tried for treason. Unfortunately, they will probably go work for CNN.
  17. The barbarians who perpetrated that atrocity are a small, if not minute cross section of our military. Contrary to the beliefs of a miss-guided minority in our country. The animals that strap explosives to mentally handicapped civilians are a majority of the people that we are fighting. Differences? Hell yeah.
  18. That's not how it works. Make a statement and back it up. If you don't do that I'm forced to assume that you're talking complete shit. Didn't realize you made the rules. Apparently, it's too difficult for you to type "UN" in the search field. Out of pitty, I did it for you. Here Oh yeah...don't forget to scroll and click. Oh! And don't forget to read!
  19. There is nothing inherent about US goodness. Right now the US administration has not renounced torture. The US recently has invaded a sovereign nation under false pretenses, wiretaps its citizens without a warrant, has only recently renounced executing minors, suspends habeas corpus at the whim of the President, within my memory treated a large fraction of its citizens as second third class based on their skin color. The US is only as good as it chooses to be, and for the past 7 years it has chosen a leadership that cannot be described as "good". The letter you quoted in the OP was a perfect example - ignorant and bigoted. Once again, in academia, while sipping a mocha latte and listening to Jerry Garcia, your opinions may seem viable. But if you scratch the surface there is little basis for your supporting facts. Point 1- Water boarding: It's a non-lethal effective interrogation method that has provided untold amounts of vital information helping the war on terror. Point 2- Sovereign Nation under false pretenses: Iraq was not an innocent victim. If you remember, the unconditional surrender of Gulf War I. Iraq repeatedly violated the terms of the treaty. Iraq was/is hosting terrorist training camps and were before the beginning the global war on terror. Ask any veteran that has been to Iraq. Point 3- Wiretaps its citizens w/o a warrant: Perhaps you are familiar with project echelon. A project enacted by the NSA (via orders of the President at that time) in the late 50s that scans all forms of electronic/voice communications in the US. Although, this has been going on for decades, nobody seemed to care until recently. As for the rest of the points, we as a nation are not perfect. Innocent people have/do get executed. Re: Habeas corpus, do you mean non-US citizens, outside the United States? In Guantanamo? If so, they should be thankful that they are not treated as POW of years past. As far as treating people of color a second third class citizens: In case you haven't heard, we have an American of mixed descent (African/Arab) and a Female running for President of our great country. Refresh me if I'm wrong, but don't African Americans' make up approx. 13% of our population? Pretty good. Could we do better? Yes. You seriously consider this inherently evil? Perhaps a trip to Falluja would be appropriate to discuss inherent evil? Ask anyone who has been there.
  20. Here. Feel free to browse your gateway. An actual citation of the claim you made please. Do your own homework. As someone up thread wrote... "Read and learn"
