I could have sworn I responded to this thread. Not sure what happened. But, thanks again! Anyway, out of curiosity, was this pilot chute packing method tested with an intentional HS? If so, at anytime, did it clear itself with enough drag?

The Cane Corso is a fine breed. A friend of mine breeds them. Nero is a beauty! I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback.

In January 2007, we were given the opportunity to talk to the FAA. The issue of "What happens if someone pencil packs w/ your name and seal" was discussed. The FAA said if it is not in the Riggers log, it didn't happen. That they side with the FAA certified rigger, not the skydiver. I no longer find it a big deal.

Glad you talked to your rigger about it and it worked out for you. Also, be sure to tell him you are more concerned with looking like a damn Cockatoo and those wrinkles better come out! When I got my ticket, I was warned on how most skydivers just give a shit about cosmetics. You think that looks bad, you should see some of the military rigs.

My thoughts exactly. I've had my Sabre 120 for 10 years now, haven't bothered changing the slider. Mine even has the velcro on it. I don't get slammers- then again I pack it a certain way. It's also what I'm used to, and I find it to be a 'predictable' canopy. And, the openings aren't as positive as my Lightning. Also, any canopy, at any time, can 'slam' you.

I never experienced any animosity between skydivers and BASE jumpers (except online). If you want to BASE jump- BASE jump (Find a Mentor) If you want to skydive- skydive (Find an Instructor) If you want to get some skydives in before BASE- do that. What ever journey you choose to arrive at your destination- enjoy the ride.
