Anyone know if Cruise has actually made a BASE jump? And how many skydives does he have? Coco
-
I agree. Case in point...Me! I've got A.S and an O but not B or E. Gonna get the E this summer but not sure when I will go for my B. Only because if I get busted, I will get kicked out of the Fire Academy. Once off probation It won't matter from what I have been told. Before I got in...I was jumping 2-3 times a week. Now I'm luck if I get 1 every 2-3 weeks. Coco

What would you say makes someone a BASE jumper Tom? Coco
-
same her but Etnies! Coco

Oh Yea thats a good idea. I'm am hoping to go but I won't know if my schedule will allow it until May 19th. Lol. Plan ticket will be expensive if I can go. Coco

How do you properly size yourself for boots? Like if I were to get a pair of Hanwags. The sizes say "American" but I have shoes from 4 different companies for different use (running, Etnies, dress and casual) and they range from 9-10 in size. I don't wanna spend 300 bucks to find out they don't fit right. Any advice? Anyone know exchange policies for companies that make the Crispi and Hanwags or similar boots. Coco

Well there ya go. That answers that questions! Coco

My skydive bd is April 6th. And my Birthday is April 2nd. My first 3 skydives were my 18th B-day Present from my rents! Coco

Bridge Day and FJC course – Great! Twin Falls and FJC (with Tom A. or Apex) – Greater! You can rent gear from Apex for Bridge Day or for a FJC with Apex in TF. www.apexbase.com Also get a few more skydives. 120 in 2 years is a little low and possibly a little uncurrent unless you started slow and it picked up. Good luck and stay safe! Coco Edit: Spelling

Awesome!! Like I said in my other Track suit post, I'd make one for myself if I actually had the ability to do so! I've got no skill in that area. Hey! Maybe you should start a company!! COco

Now that is just way too adorable!! Now ya just need a canopy! Fox 25? Coco

Well in is most basic thought. If there were nothing too complicated on a jump. Great LZ right near the base, perfect winds. I should have known it would get a lot more techincal than I made it. COco

Damn! C- I'll have to work on that. Yea I don't have a huge range of different types of jumps so I guess that didn't cross my mind. But We'll go ahead and say that you can "count" with a planed delay so you are deploying at 300. I made the broad topics and you broke it down! If anyone has any other additons, please post a message! I can't change the poll but I'd love to see what you have to say! Coco

Jeez! So negative. Just thought it would be interesting to see what people say. Well….When I do like 6-10 skydives a weekend I get into a grove where without looking at my wrist alt. I can pretty much within a 2-4 seconds be like "dyter is about to go off." You (I) get accustomed to how long the jump lasts when you jump with the same person over and over and you don’t have drastic speed changes. Also in the BASE environment, a buddy told me about how he jumped with Dave Barlia out is Swiss valley. He said on a few jumps he would go first and would be on the ground watching the rest of the guys jump. He said Dave would jump…. and he was so dialed into his delay that he knew exactly where he was and when to pull. He said Dave was so low he could see the huge smile on his face as he was deploying. But the guy has so many jumps that he knew he was exactly where he was when he deployed. Coco

Just curious as to what most people do. Coco P.S the "I just know", Like....do you just have so many jumps that you know exactly how long you have delayed. Like in freeflying I pretty much know when its time to track...I get that feeling.

Awesome!!! I'm gonna jump the white house and land on a "Bush"! Coco
-
Is there anyone jumping out in Mid or Western Va? Like Lynchburg, Richmond, Roanoke? Coco
-
I know for real!! You must be in suspense to see what I might say next! Well, just in case I got blasted or something people wouldn’t think I was backing down but just busy. Coco

Well since I remembered I do it like in the packing video I mentioned it and now I won't post. yea I guess I have been post-whoring ey? Sorry...I guess since I can't jump right now I gotta do something BASE related so I talk about it instead. I'll tone it down. Yea I am but when I take a 5 mintue break here and there i use the time to look at the board. And I can make quick posts jsut not the long ones. Coco

Hey! That’s not cool! You don't really know my background...I could be a master rigger taught by the best and have examined all different types of BASE packing! Yea I haven’t and I'm not.... Well if you have a copy of the Vertigo Packing video, I pack exactly like jimmy and I lay my canopy down just like he does. I just look at how john pretty much threw down his pack job in the video and wonder how everything you just flaked out doesn’t go to crap. That’s all I'm saying. To each his own.... I’m just a very meticulous packer and I would never just drop my pack job like he did. "shrug" And I was only gonna show how I lay it down not teaching how to pack a BASE rig. Coco

Great posts everyone. I'm freaking busy as hell with EMT class so I don't have time to reply to anything till Firday night or Saturday. HUGE ACLS test friday I'm making sure I pass. Till then! Coco
-
I'll video one of my pack jobs when i have the time to show you what I do. The nicer you make it when you have it on your shoulder and laying it down softer the less you have to do when you redress it. Faster pack job.... But thats just me... Coco
-
Well I do a pro pack also and then lay it on the ground and redress it, but I don't chuck that shit on the ground like he did. I'm a little more meticulous I guess.... (I pack like Jimmy P on the old vertigo packing video) Coco

I’m fine with hearing people’s opinions. I’ve got thick skin. Opinions and constructive criticism are welcome. Over 200 people have viewed this post since I posted so someone has gotta have an opinion. I highly doubt that it’s going to change my feelings but I am genuinely interested. Coco
