  1. Okay - I know (and nobody needs to remind me!) that this doesn't pertain to actually doing drugs while you're jumping...although - I won't deny that it doesn't happen in some locations.... But... In general what is overall attitude towards "talking" about drugs while you're at the dz?? Perhaps it is just me, but I am of the opinion of, "hey, they're out there - people do them - we all know someone who does them...so who cares and what does it matter!" A situation happened recently where the topic came up in the plane (full of only fun jumpers) and it got quickly "shhhhhhh"ed. We're not talking about standing around the packing mats and discussing purchasing and using...but how openly do you discuss "recreational substances" at your dz?? What insights do you have to offer....?? Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  2. Lisa girl, I know how upset you were when she first went in the hospital and I'm so sorry for your loss. You have my condolences, support, and my shoulders whenever you need them. I'm thinking of you in these sad times. Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  3. Noice!! I'm bringing my tent - jic - but its either in the "hilton" or in the monkey-bago! Just got to get up there early enough!! Man - I'm SO jonesin' for this trip! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

    lowest pulled

Freefall - passing through 2k....think I was open by about 1,200....maybe 1,300. H&P - 2 of them...one was a 2k H&P....didn't check when I was open, but hands were already on handles...JIC, another one was at 3k with a delay and the boys on the ground said they could see the logo on my shoes when I....umm....PULLED!. So I guess that was low! I agree with the above statement...."don't get attached to ground rush"...the first time you do - you'll probably hit the ground and get rushed to the hospital!!! 5. I want in!! Can't wait - and it looks like we're all gonna be in for some treats!! (I heard a vicious rumour that there $14 jumps all weekend (or perhaps just on the 4th only) at Skydive Atlanta (the good one!...but I've already made my plans. Damn you Raeford-types....too much fun to miss out on!) Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

  7. Ohh....It's been brung!! And Sunny - I GUARANTEE you'll have a good time....but don't think it will compare to TX....They are not sucking in Raeford - in LOTS of different ways than anyone else!! P.S. earlier post was meant to read "won't have my NEW rig" Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic

    Weekend Numbers

0:2:0 Did 2 jumps on Sunday marking my first F*^)in' day off in 3 weeks, but it was a great day and I had lots of fun! Spent an hour looking for a chopped main with no success and got a tick! Won my first tennis match of the season - so all was well with the world by shut-eye time. Can't wait for Raeford....2 weeks baby!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  10. OMG....HE'S ALIVE.....ALIVE!! Hey dude....what's up? Long time now hear from! Anyway - just thought I would catch up....PM me or email me if you've got the time. Hope to catch up with you soon!! Cheers, Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  11. Anyone else feel like they're in H.S.?? [sixteen year old voice]"who's cuter...Football players, basketball players, track runners, wrestlers, or lacrosse players? hee hee... I like football players the most!!"[/sixteen year old voice] Honestly, I thought the whole point of skydiving was that we were all a community...and if you were in the community - you left your biases behind. (I could be wrong) Anyway, the hottest skydivers, IMHO, are the ones that I'm attracted to the most....and they don't need to even be more than a tandem student. Ask around your own DZ to find out how many JM's fall for their students (shags don't count). Anyway - a friday rant for you all - it's late and I want to leave work!!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  12. Yeah....really!! Viking - you're a worry dude. I couldn't even tell you what they looked like, but I know what color their aeriolas are!!! (I'm such a pig!) Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  13. I believe I was at Sebazz's REM concert in 1989...I loved that show! One of the first times I saw them. But, actually, my first concert was an amazing triple bill thanks to havin' a very sister, who liked very music! Gene Loves Jezebel New Order Echo & The Bunnymen @ San Diego Sports Arena You want to talk about an 80's music alternative icon concert.....this show ROCKED!! Night was made even better when my sister (college hottie at the time) was hit on by Ian McCullough. Totally amazing experience!!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  14. [reply 28. Pyke with New Rig....BEER!! 28. Pyke without New Rig....BEER!! 'Cause I'm like that!!! "First rule of visiting another DZ where you have friends.....bring BEER! Second rule of visiting another DZ where you have friends....bring BEER!" Any questions??
  15. i have several, but some of the ones not included so far here are.... Pacifier by (Kiwi band formerly called Shihad) Pacifier Rengades of Funk by Rage Against the Machine Jane Says by Jane's Addiction I must admit the best skydiving CD EVER was the one that our very own Freaksister burned for me 2 years ago....Thanks Sis!! You rock! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  16. Could someone please put a number by my name.... Time off request in on time...and hopefully I'll have my new rig that weekend!! If so, then it's really on!! Later... Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  17. Well, I can say that (even though almost all of them are taken) some fine examples of hotties are members of the "not yet official" Body Glove Bikini Packers of Skydive Atlanta in Thomaston. Outside of that - there are some damn fine looking jumpers around GA as well!!! Hey, just 'cause you look at the latest model - doesn't mean you need to test drive it!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  18. Okay - I sincerely doubt that what I just watched was a editing masterpiece.... THAT WAS SOME OF THE SICKEST VIDEO I'VE EVER SEEN!!!!!!! I have had many discussions about skydiving with folks I work with...and I showed them all this to a collective response of, "DDDAAAAAAAMMMMMNNNN!!!!!" I'm telling you.....take the declination angle, factor in a flare potential to slow your speed enough, work out a 'ski-jump' type landing strip - have either rollerblades or "ski-feet" (of any variety) - and put a pool at the bottom for the landing....and VOILA! Flying will be revolutionized!! That shite was BADASS!!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  19. on days that involve skydiving....who ever's in the sky with me at the time, or on the ground chillin' out!!! {edited] sorry - had a moment there.....I think it's passed.....moving right along now...
  20. I learned my lesson the hardway - it ISN'T Budweiser Guess I should have asked before I showed up!! Oh well - I know for next time!! (going to remember to ask for this weekend off - this weekend - so let's hope it all comes together...and then you can put a number beside my name!!
