  1. I used to PM myself but I would always forget to post telling me to check my PM's so I never got them. I finally figured out a solution. PM me and I'll tell you what it is.
  2. BadDog

    I'm done.

BTW, if you really want to get away with this, you have to log off and not log back on.......... Just checkin' out Who's Online...........
  3. How do you set it up as a service under 9x? I use FireDaemon to set it up under XP/2k but that won't run on a 9x machine as far as I know.
  4. I assume that running the console as a service on an XP or 2K machine is preferable to running the graphical. Right? (I want all of your secrets.)
  5. Question: Would it be more productive to run FAH console on a Linux partition or FAH Graphical (minimized) on a ME partition? Anybody know? Any opinions?
  6. If you exit at 750, how long would it take to get to 78 mph, and how much altitude would you have left at that point?
  7. Spark, Wouldn't you have to jump out at 750 to test the Cypres under similar conditions? In other words, jumping out at 1,000 with an Astra and jumping out at 750 with a Cypres would be putting each to the same test (jumping out at their preset firing altitude). As for actually doing it, I'll leave that to you (or the base jumpers). I like at least 2,500.
  8. Sparky, Did you test the Cypres too? Also, why is it bad that the Astra fired when exiting at 1,000 feet AGL or less? Isn't that what it should do? Wouldn't that be similar to chopping the main at 1,000 feet and not pulling the reserve handle? I'm just trying to understand the test and why having the Astra fire is bad under those conditions. If you exit the plane at 1,000 feet, should it wait to see if you open something, or just fire and get one over your head? Remember, if you're going to go out at 1,000 feet AGL on purpose, you'd probably turn the Astra off anyway (and that's easier to do than turning off a Cypres).
  9. and mud and grass and blood and..............
  10. Do a Google search for something like "Astra Skydiving" or whatever.............
  11. You need some little slider bumpers for your fingers. That or start packing with the slider down.
  12. Here comes AndyMan! with a vengeance....
  13. Dreaming in color, living in black and white.......
  14. Bart, but in a good way..............
  15. I use Super Bandz and I like them. No problems in hundreds of jumps. I guess nobody has ever had a bag lock using regular rubber bands, otherwise nobody would use those either, right? p.s. I've had Super Bandz break..........
  16. Check out www.ipowerweb.com
  17. Well, the Exit link worked okay...................
  18. We should all just temporarily change our user names to sangiro and get it over with...........
  19. I use Slinks on my Diablo. I have them on my reserve too. As stated, you only need to worry about "approval" in the case of a reserve (note: I'm only talking about what applies in the U.S.).
  20. AndyMan, or should I say AndyMan!? What's with the split personality?
  21. Use what you have to make a down payment on them all and finance the rest. You only live once.
  22. Is this like a birthright? They get a share simply because they are there regardless of their contribution to society? I have an idea, I'll quit work today and you send me half your paycheck! I'll stay at the dz and jump with your money. Sound good? Let me know and I will send you my mailing address. "...to each according to their need...." I need it worse than you, so start licking the stamps. ...sounds like the unemplyment insurance system in canada... Sounds like alimony to me..............
  23. I've held one in my hands and I think they are very well made. They are of Z-1 quality. I can send you a picture if you still need to see one (shoot me an email).
  24. I prefer the Digitude to the Altimaster III (those are the only two I'd consider). The Digitude has a built in light for night jumps, a low battery warning (carry a spare), is lighter than an Altimaster, sits right where I want it on my hand (the Altimaster tends to require more wrist rotation to read), and can be turned on at any time (most people are in the habit of zeroing when they get on the plane, so it shouldn't really be an issue). And last but not least, my mind can register the numbers on the Digitude a split second faster than it can figure out the altitude using a dial.
