  2. Its gotta smell better than a bunch of Monterey skydivers who had El Rancho burritos for lunch, I have literally almost barfed from the smell of that ... I'll take JetA fuel anyday. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  3. Thanks for the post. I have had a similar situation with brakes getting stuck, etc. I have found my favorite place for my toggles at all times is to be in my hot little hands. I don't think I would want to accept all of the what ifs by riding in until 800 feet to do a controllability check, Yikes! But good job with the recovery of the canopy. I can recall at least two jumps where I was sweating a little and thought WHEW! Glad I made it through that one ... Glad you got down okay and landed safely Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  4. Hey I sort of sit on the fence there as far as somewhat democratic, somewhat liberal ... So I half resemble that remark. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  5. I can relate to your story since I too was in a volatile nightmare of a relationship and my friends and family would get frustrated with me constantly for going back to it. All I can say is if this guy is in jail, he obviously made some bad choices and has some issues. The bottom line from my experience is when you are "in" the situation it is sometimes hard to see outside of it. Sometimes the misery of the truth is more comfortable than doing anything about it. Yes, I think someone mentioned the word co-dependent. Try to be there for your friend to listen the next time she has problems with this guy and it sounds like she will. Remind her of the past. Part of being a good friend is just being there no matter what. Eventually she will find out for herself although it may take some time. Coming from a place of empathy to my closest friends and family for their frustrations with me with my last nightmare relationship, I send you VIBES and strength so take a stand for what you believe is right for your friend. She will make her own decisions no matter what advice you give her and even though it may seem that she does not listen to it, you never know the seeds you may be planting for her that one day she may need to rely on for support. It will always help her to know when things get bad that you are there for her as a friend no matter what. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  6. Now what was that about morphine??? Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  7. You poor thing, you've had quite a day. Hey, if I was there, I'd buy you a drink ... Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  8. She is pretty cute huh??? Not that I go for women or anything but from her Avatarr, I was like Go Roy!!! Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  9. yep, that would be our very own Chop Chop. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  10. EDITED to add: geometry is taught really poorly these days, in the rush to get students on to calculus. The things that can be done with geometry alone are quite remarkable, but almost no-one gets to know that any more. I agree with the Professor. I thought Geometry kicked ass and with Geometry and just a little bit of Trig, damn the things you can do ... Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  11. For some reason when I see this thread I just keep thinking about RoysPlayThing Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  12. Not drinking, could use a few. Anyone wanna come pick me up and take me out for a drink??? Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  13. Yes, I believe STRESS can make one physically sick and have other physical reactions. These last few weeks of mine have been the most stress I have faced ever. My body broke out in a rash, my palms will sweat, I start to sweat, then get chills and sometimes my hands would shake. I think stress is probably the only reason I have been sick right after a traumatic event that happened over 2 weeks ago. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  14. Also, if you've ever driven in BC, Mexico, it is way trippy. At night on the freeways which are already pretty dark, the Mexicans there don't turn on their headlights when they drive. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  15. Wooohooo, finally a Texas vote! I have driven in many parts of the country and I would have to say the Texas drivers are way too aggressive. Driving through Dallas, if they crawled any farther up my ass I could taste them. California drivers are the worst I think though. Lets see, in Southern California its all about "what" kind of car you drive. I went to a private school growing up there and all the kids drove Porsche 911s and if they totalled it the first week they got it, mommy and daddy bought them a new one. Meanwhile, their mom's who have never even touched mud in probably the last 30 years all owned Hummers and LandRovers with all the foglights, etc. You'd think they all went on zoological expeditions daily just to drive through Encino. CA drivers are pretty obnoxious and I agree about grandparents. My grandma is the worst driver, I refuse to get in a car with her unless I am driving. She will do the same thing switching lanes but she may not even look over her shoulder first Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  16. Michele, I have read many of your posts to my family especially my Mom and I agree with her responses to your posts 100% and just want to share what she has said: "I think she is one of the wisest, most compassionate and wonderful human beings who bless the Earth and I thank her from the bottom of my heart for her words to you and that I'll always be grateful to her." "Unfortunately for the world, they all don't know her or about her because her words are so beneficial to humanity. She could help billions." After reading yours and VanillaSkyGirls posts I deleted all of mine. I do not need the whole world to read my pain. Reading what I have from you two ladies has been all the support I really needed to hear and you have filled me up with love. Thank you both so much and I hope we get the chance to meet sometime. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  17. VanillaSKyGirl, I read some of your posts and threads to my mom and Michele's too and you both have had me in tears. I told her I hope I have the opportunity to meet you both and skydive with you one day because I cannot wait to run up and give you both the biggest hugs. Thank you both so much for your support and strength and wisdom and know that it has touched me deeply. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  18. Michele. Thank you so much for your PMs and all of your understanding. You are so right about everything. Reading your post made me cry and see it from Randy's point of view. I have been hurting so much for me and Dakota and so worried about everything and so angry I have never looked at it from that point of view. There was so much going on all the time and now I feel so overwhelmed, sick and extremely freaked out. Horrified is probably a better word although I have to say that it has been 8 days and I think I am doing better than day 3. I've been blamed for this by his family and that has been another painful thorn in my side. I was told I was the cause that led him to this. This coming from members of the family who I loved and have been close to. One of my favorites won't speak to me and I care about her very much. I was the only one who really understood the situation and it was very complex. And the hardest thing for me is that I loved this man and tried to help him as best I could until he ran away from me too. I wanted our family to be what I thought it wa capable of being and I failed to be able to fix the problems. I think about what he did, I think about it every day and night. Part of me is haunted by the vision of it, the act of it, what was going through his mind, what wasn't, part of me is sad, part of me is numb, part of me feels void. But I thank you Michelle again for your kind, compassionate sords of wisdom. I guess I have been going through the only process I know how and seems to go back and forth, grief, anger, grief, anger, grief anger. I don't mean to attack anyone on these threads, I am just very sensitive to these issues. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  19. Excuse me but I have read the suicide note along with the Criminal Indictment against him in which he was facing up to 120 years in prison. So I think that qualifies me to know what was going through his head. And besides just prior to this, I lived with him every day for three years and knew the truth about what was going on in his life when no one else did. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  20. In a philosophical sense I understand your reasoning. However, it is my belief that when you have a child who is three years old and vowed yourself to your wife forever, your right to make selfish decisions changes. If you create a bed for you, your wife and your baby to lay in, it is selfish and cowardly to run away from it just because you can. What about taking a stand for your child and family and just facing the bed you made??? How about a little bit of accountability and humility by admitting you made a mistake? This suicide was not because of a "depressed" person. This suicide was because of a fear of facing the music that he created. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  21. And if you want to know the reason why he did it I would be happy to tell you since so many people who claim to have known him so well and what a "wonderful" father and person he was ... It really angers me when people think they know everything and they really don't know shit. No offense to you I am sure you are a very caring person and my deepest sympathies to you. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  22. Ashley, That friend of yours was the father of my child and ex. And BTW if you want to get the facts straight, he hung himself in his friend's barn not his house and it happened Nov. 6th Thursday not Wed. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  23. 1) The Flying Elvi 2) Rob Harris 3) Sammy Thistle 4) Beth Matsui 5) Nanette at SDC 6) Glenn Bangs Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  24. I didn't know you were a Scorp too, when's your BDay Mr. Freeze??? Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  25. Yeah and we Scorpios, We RULE!!! Yeah that's right, we do!!! Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
