  1. I have a question. I'm not going to any boogies in Florida this year that I know of so the Pink Mafia boogie is probably out this year but I am feeling REALLY PMSy right now and I will be at the Moss Point Boogie. I'm looking forward to meeting some of those PMS girls and am hoping DaizeyShadow is going to be there, (does anyone out there know Leann and if so is she going to the Boogie???) ... How does one become a PMS and will there be anyone who can officially PMS me at the Mardi Gras Boogie??? Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  2. OMG that was so funny! Great article! As Raff would say, "The two most important words in a marriage/relationship for a guy to learn are {in the passive Raff voice} "Yes Dear" ... and his definition of marriage ... Find someone who hates you and buy them a house. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  3. Quote Chocolate Bock doesn't use chocolate as ingredient, said Boston Beer spokeswoman Michelle Sullivan. The barley malt used to make the beer is infused with chocolate flavor from cocoa nibs supplied by a California chocolate company. Quote Wow, at first I was thinking here is a good beer to try, I've tried other chocolate varieties before and they were pretty decent. (Keep in mind I am not a huge beer drinker/connoisseure or anything) Chocolate is Good
  4. Hey! I resemble that picture (I mean I am in it) but that other tumblefuck going out the door ... that looked kind of like a sattelite to me. Do I win, do I win??? Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  5. Danish T??? Just a total guess! Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  6. I have a three year old daughter and have thought long and hard about this one. I have relatives who think I should stop skydiving and that I am irresponsible and I am also her last living parent. I have friends with kids who tell me to continue to skydive if it is what I enjoy doing. Skydiving is a part of my life (at least for now). I have invested a lot to get my ratings, gear, etc. I have slowed down a lot but children want us to be who we are and do what makes us happy. I think it depends on how important skydiving is to YOU. My boyfriend put it very bluntly ... Are you going to stop driving your car because you have kids? How many people die in car accidents each year? Yes, skydiving can be dangerous. I think the key is to take care of yourself first. Shit can happen anywhere, anytime, anyplace, period. Whether you drive, surf, skydive, golf, ride motorcycles, bowl, whatever ... Be cautious and take care of yourself first. If you take good care of yourself, you will be able to take good care of others like your children. Before I get on an airplane I am thorough with my gear checks and if something doesn't feel right, I have no ego over asking someone to check it out for verification. I try not to go outside of my level of comfort or take on things I think are over my abilities. When I am on the airplane I hope to myself that everyone on my load is doing the same. If we all take care of ourselves first, then if some shit does happen, we are in a position to potentially help others. Understand where your wife is coming from. She is afraid of losing you. I have lost friends in this sport who have had young children and it is a very sad thing. However, when I look at some choices they made which led them to their fate, I don't think I would have made those same choices. Don't ever become complacent and always know your limits. 7. My personal opinion is that the Sabre sucks. I can count the number of times I've been whacked under canopy on one hand and I think 4 out of the 5 whackers were under a Sabre. I've heard people say roll the nose, don't roll the nose, split the nose and roll it, whatever ... I would never buy one for myself although I do know people who own them and love them and never have had many problems with them. Some people hate Stilettos and I love mine. Canopies are all a matter of personal preference. Some people hate snivelling canopies. My Spectre snivelled like a mo fo but I never complained because I loved the soft openings. I think the Sabre 2 is an excellent all around canopy. I've only had the opportunity to fly it a few times but it was very fun to fly and I didn't get whacked
  8. "I don't believe in -isms, I just believe in me." I believe in universal balance and that the key lies in Energy and the Laws of Energy Conservation. Whatever level a person takes that to with the Scientific Law that Energy is neither created nor destroyed, only transformed and the Expanding Universe Theory says that we are just continuing to expand ... so is energy just drifting in time as the universe expands infinitely or will the universe contract making it a finite system which will bring all of the energy back closer together? Or does the energy of the universe just recycle itself fully and in it's most efficient state? Dang who the hell knows ... As Bill from Bill and Ted once said, "All we are is dust in the wind, dude." My choice wasn't listed in the poll. I am open-minded about an afterlife/spirit/ghosts/whatever energy ... is there such a thing? That lady Sylvia Brown sure seems to think so. Granted there are a lot of quacks out there but have you ever seen Silvia Brown in action??? She has even allegedly solved many murder crimes based on her psychic abilities. She allegedly talks to people and can see and communicate with them on "the other side". Psychics sometimes talk about crossing over and how some people don't/haven't. I wonder if that is true, how do those souls manage to not cross over and where/when are they? I happen to be a little more cynical and scientific though. I can't recall ever seeing or experiencing a whole lot of supernatural stuff. The only super weird stuff I can remember happening to me in my life is a couple of wierd feelings of out of body experiences which I think was caused from being in a super relaxed state because I did some research on that and I am pretty sure I saw a UFO once in Ottawa, Illinois. And no I was not drunk or on any drugs. I saw some very vivid lights in the sky coming from behind some clouds and I can't imagine what else it could have been ... it was just like out of a movie because of course I was totally alone, driving toward the Skydive Chicago DZ at night and I saw the very bright lights coming from behind the clouds. I was trying to figure out what the heck it was thinking it had to have been lightning, (what else could it have been?) but I know it wasn't. The really freaky thing about it was the next day I happened to overhear the news on TV. There were some very huge "Signs" in the corn fields located adjacent to the lights and they were HUGE patterns that no one could have created without a lot of manpower, time and effort. The news station reported it like it was nothing out of the ordinary ... just a couple of many acred crop designs that appeared overnight ... People were out touring them with their families the next day. So yes, I have experienced a couple of weird things in my lifetime but they may have been few and far between although I have known people to share their supernatural stories which are quite convincing and been to some places on this planet which are considered highly "spiritual". They still tell ghost stories about spirits in many places from sightings where many lives have been lost like Gettysburg. So whether my experiences and/or other's are real or coincidence, who knows? I do believe that there is a lot we still don't know or understand about Energy or it's wide range of characteristics. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." 9. Ok Y'All are cracking me up. First off Kawi, I think you should go with the flow brother. Do whatever feels right. If you feel like waiting for Valentine's Day, then you should, if you feel like you shouldn't for whatever reason, then you shouldn't. Alrighty then, Gork, I loved reading your response, totally sounded like something you would do. BTW what is a "bim"??? Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  10. Wow John!!! I never knew YOU had such studly sons ... As Darth Vader would say, "Impressive, most impressive." Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  11. Nope, just "Reviewing the situation." ... edited to add: I have a feeling you would appreciate the above line since I'm sure you know who Fagin is. Don't know if I spelled his name correctly though ... Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."

    Taxes

It seems like most of you lucky bastards (term of endearment) are getting money back. I don't have any idea yet ... I have a feeling my taxes are going to be a little on the complicated side this year. Going to require the help of a serious professional but we'll see ... It's nice to see some people are cashing in on the dough ... Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  13. Yay! You got it Rainbo!!! Cute kids too! Your son looks a lot like you! Say Howdy to WendyBird for me! Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."

    Taxes

I posted a thread on this topic but does anyone know the current rules pertaining to capital gains taxes? I have a unique situation and need some answers. Spank you. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  15. Hmmmm, it's been a while since I've uploaded stuff. I know you have to make sure it isn't too big a file ... but that sounds right Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  16. I guess that might be interesting . I'm always up for a new adventure ... but I doubt anything will ever add up to living in Hawaii and having the abundant coral reefs of the Pacific Ocean to frolic in what was practically my backyard (sigh) ... Has anyone done any diving in Missouri or anywhere else in the Midwest? I've seen signs for SCUBA diving around here but I thought SCUBA diving and the Midwest were antonyms Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  17. Hey Rainbo where's the pic??? Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  18. I'm a Tapatio girl AssKickin Hot sauce isn't bad either ... Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  19. I feel your pain. I just moved to Missouri and we are expecting the same crap late tonight. Coming from California and the Hawaiian islands before that, this is definitely "different". The first day of school I spent 45 minutes scraping ice off my car . I did catch on after the first day though ... Let the car run and heat up and defrost it all during breakfast. At least here in MO I don't have to worry about someone stealing my car while it is warming up in my driveway Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  20. Are there any tax accountants or anyone else out there who are knowledgeable about the current capital gains tax laws? I plan on seeing an accountant regardless but I have a unique situation and it would be cool if someone knew the answers to a few of my questions. If you post here I can shoot you off a PM. Thanks in advance and Blue Skies! Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  21. YEAH!!!! What HE said Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  22. 2000 was a bang of a year for me. Much happened but probably the best thing was the birth of my peanut Dakota September 20th. I was 26 when I had her, almost 27. I thought it was a pretty decent age to have a child. Everyone is different. Much depends on where you are in life. I am still figuring it out at 30 and although it is probably a little bit easier to have everything all lined up for the future before you have one (like I thought I did), I am glad I had one. I don't want anymore though and I think anywhere from 25 to 33 is a good age to have kids. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  23. I'm already on the other roll call list but I'll sign up for this one too! I'll be there the 19th through the 22nd!!! See you all there Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  24. Certified to SCUBA at 17 years old, certified to skydive at 22. Born to do both and love em both. Now I live in Missouri so I'm not sure how much SCUBA I'll be doing unless of course I plan some trips down south to Florida and the Carribean ... Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
  25. I was all about the chocolate chip cookie dough when it first came out ... Now I think Makin Whoopie would get my vote. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
