Okay, I've got to ask............ What is a NingaBiscuit??? James 4:8

Rob, Would that have to come from the manufacturer of the rig? A SR to a MR help me out here. J.E. James 4:8

Come on Mark. The point, equals pull, equals #1 priority works. Linking these together is a great Idea and does not create two separate commands into one signal. How can legs out equal pull at the proper altitude unless you teach it? The basic AFF hand signals work if you teach them. If there is a better idea, I'll repeat myself, send it into Safety & Training, let them evaluate it and if it's better we all be using it. Blues, J.E. James 4:8

Tom, You gave it away! Rember the old teacher saying, "If I give it to you it's forgotten, if you have to go get it, it's yours forever." Blues, J.E. James 4:8

Do they put bellybands on G3's? I think he means belly flying? J.E. James 4:8

Instructors only Please. This poll spawns from another poll asking do you cut away first or go for the silver. I'm looking for responses from Instructors to see how the majority are teaching this. Non-Instructors please comment but try to keep the poll representing current teaching methods by not voting on the poll. Thank You! J.E. James 4:8

Bill, Have you ever seen a PC in the burgle with bridle stretch? Help me with this one. We teach "check" which should clear a PC in the burble. If I'm looking and it's sitting there with a stretched bridle I'm pretty sure it's "in tow". Clear this up for me. Blues, J.E. James 4:8

Chris, I'd never question your intentions, content yes, intent no!?!?!? Just kidding brother. I'll say it again. Why? First it's not legal, second it can get me killed, third it can get you killed, fourth if you want to kill yourself sit in the smoking section of the cafe. Blues, J.E. James 4:8 -

RiggerRob, Bingo on the Javelin, But! As I'm probably it is with the Talon, the problem with Javelins soft housings was not the rig but the rigger/skydiver who mis-routed the cables. It was easy to do. I made a tool out of a hanger to use as a "snake" to feed through and make sure of the routing. I've since put several hard housings on and use them on my rigs. Blues, J.E. Bill, No kidding. Seems to me back when RWS did the same with a Vector. The rig was so small it had to have a ROL because you could not reach a BOC. Go figure. These days I recommend an AAD simply due to the lack of experience/time even with some "high" jump numbers. I can show you at our DZ a guy with several "hundred" that should never jump without one. Insurance, simply Insurance. Blues, J.E. James 4:8

Bill, You make my point.f Insurance, only Insurance. You can quote stats all day long, 90% or 10% what is your exposure. You don't buy flood insurance if you live on top of the Rocky Mountains. Shawn appears to have around 50 jumps. Good insurance or not? Depends upon your exposure, not stats. I'm not a crew dog but if I were, I probably would be jumping a round reserve. As far as (I assume you meant tertiary) "tersh" is concerned, I don't know anyone using a third canopy except for planned cut aways or test jumps, but that could be another subject line. I agree Bill, "I don't buy the old argument" either. Insurance, only insurance. Blues, J.E. James 4:8

That is why you should have some experience before you start jumping camers. Also why my Flat Top Pro is going back for the cut away retrofit. Blues, J.E. James 4:8 -
Would you jump with someone you suspected of being high?
sducoach replied to Katzeye's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Beer is legal, drugs are not. OTC drugs are legal, but have you ever read the doctors instructions or the manufacturers instructions? Let us start with that. Do you, (I should say they, not directed at you) allow students or up jumpers to skydive intoxicated on beer or any other product such as OTC if you know it? If so, how about telling your DZO and see what he/she believes their liability to be. The big question is why? If a fatality occurs and an autopsy is done, a toxicology is performed. If you caused the fatality of another and are fount UTI, see ya in court. If you are the fatality and UTI, again I ask why? Get high, AGL, in an airplane. Blues, J.E. James 4:8 -

Better safe than sorry. Any IUT cannot be accepted. I don't want someone killing me or others because skydiving was not enough. Rumor mill aside simply confront them if you are concerned. I would like to know what California DZ you were at that allows it. I'm sorry to see any experienced skydiver condone this by ignoring or accepting it on any skydive. James 4:8
