Thank God for Atheists!

Hundreds of years of seriously bad karma coming back at us. We're fucked.

While I fully understand that Donald Trump cannot control who might endorse him, the proper thing to do would be to disavow this organization. Any bets on what he will do? Jerry Baumchen My money's on Trump disavowing his 'supporters' TWICE as fast as Obama disavowed the racist organizations that supported him.

I was at the birthday party of my niece and nephew on Saturday, which always brings me back to the trip to the hospital to say goodbye to Paul on the day they were born. It was always a joy to run into Paul (and his fellow Knights) at dropzones throughout the circuit, over the years. He was a class act, and he is sorely missed. BSBD, Winsor

North Carolina Anti-anti-discrimination law

In addition, excretion probably one of the least erotic activities in which someone might engage with their clothes off. -
"Conservative libertarians" is an oxymoron. What would that even mean? They want to conserve establishment policies, but without government intervention? How would that even work? Not hardly. Libertarians, conservative in the application of Government is the idea. Socialist utopias make being born in the Army look like unimaginable freedom.

As cassus belli, WMDs are a non-starter. The US of A has more WMDs than anyone ever, and we're the only ones who have had the bad manners to use all of them, in anger, repeatedly. If we are so strung out about, say, nukes, why don't we attack Pakistan? India? Russia? China? etc., etc. Though there was no thought of an end game, the attack on Afghanistan was more or less justified. So would have been attacks on Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. The way things worked out was predictable as hell. It would have been more to our benefit to donate all of our stockpiles of chemical weapons from Rocky Flats and Pine Bluff if they did not have them than to attack if they did. WMDs were a poor excuse for a red herring. BSBD, Winsor

Well at least the sentiment of Mark 15:29-31 is still alive and well! Mark 15:29-31 Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads and saying, “So! You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, come down from the cross and save yourself!” In the same way the chief priests and the teachers of the law mocked him among themselves. “He saved others,” they said, “but he can’t save himself! Thank you for so concisely emphasizing one of the fundamental contradictions MYSTERIES of Christianity. The parts of the Holy Scriptures that APPEAR to contradict themselves coming and going are really just a test, you see. These are the Lord's typos, put there to discern which fools rely on such heresy as logic to forge their path. To unbelievers, these things seem to be complete nonsense. True believers, however recognize this apparent drivel for its true nature, which is an assortment subtle and poignant truths. God makes the rules, and they are beyond the ability of mere mortals to criticize. Thus, I assure you, the Good Lord in his benevolence and mercy will send you to Hell for eternity. It serves you right - who gave YOU permission to think, anyway? You had better believe that I will firmly embrace any nonsense I come across in order to avoid THAT fate! BSBD, Winsor

Compared to Americans? I know you've traveled your country. I'm not sure how you can say that with a straight face! (But then again, I can't see your face.) According to P.J. O'Rourke, the funny noises foreigners make actually mean something. For example, to say 'hello:' In German one says 'Guten Tag!' In Russian one says 'Dobrie Dyen!' In Spanish one says "Tu Madre esta una Puta!' See? I'm more sophisticated than you think.

It did for me. so you admit it helps the rich I wouldn't say that. It didn't help me at all, and I am rich. Yeah, but you're an Australian so it doesn't count. Austrian.... Aah, Austrian, Australian, Swiss, Swedish - you foreigners are all the same. Y'all talk funny.

How would god choose to stop bad humans? Strike them down with lightning? Make them vanish? Who is to say how god would respond. I wouldn't guess how you would respond much less god. The Bible is full of stories about how god deals with bad humans, and not once did he use gunmen as surrogates. If ye shall smite the wicked in the name of the Lord, a .338 Lapua works better than a sickle sword. Just sayin'.

Due to a general lack of imagination of the human race we had to invent gods who are like us, only bigger. They are no more omniscient than we are. Hey, MY invisible friend is greatly superior to YOUR invisible friend! You're just jealous because the voices don't talk to you.

One observation made in days when psychedelics were all the rage is that LSD did not bring out much that was not already there. More or less well adjusted people who did a hit of acid did not tend to have out-of-control reactions. People that weren't too tightly wrapped to begin with were the ones who became completely unglued. Kind of like the 'in vino veritas' thing on steroids. Oddly enough, the most effective treatment for a bad trip was reportedly Wild Turkey. Way over 99% of people who took acid did nothing more antisocial than listen to too much Grateful Dead music. Someone whose response was to butcher people is beyond redemption. BSBD, Winsor

Given the unequivocal nature of her guilt and the ghastly crime involved, Leslie van Houton should have been put to sleep long ago. Some things you can't undo. Karla Faye Tucker found God, and a personal interview was arranged. Seems fitting.

"Pray against a court decision legalizing same-sex marriage. (Apr 2015) Liberals obsessed with mandatory gay marriage in 50 states. (Apr 2015) Zealotry on same-sex marriage leaves out religious liberty. (Apr 2015) Most states can ignore Supreme Court legalizing gay marriage. (Mar 2015) Overturn Supreme Court with anti-gay marriage Amendment. (Oct 2014) Opposes gay pride parades and opposes gay marriage. (Feb 2012) One-man-one-woman marriage is building block of society." he really is butthurt about gay marriage I find it a little suspicious when someone is all too concerned about gay marriage (not so much if they are out of the closet, of course,). Legislating morality has a terrible track record, at least in this country. If Ted Cruz wants a conservative, religious government, I think he picked the wrong venue. A wonderful place like Iran might be more to his taste. BSBD, Winsor

It's like putting the chamber pot at the altar to keep the flies off the bride. This election cycle is so far beyond the pale that it beggars the imagination. The only basis for selection is which candidate is slightly less despicable than the rest of the field. That we have Trump and Clinton is bad enough, but how is it that we have all these other cretins and second-raters going for the brass ring? Again, I submit that it is the presidential version of a pig party, where even a real bowser can look around and feel pretty. There is NOBODY running that could take the oath of office and give me a sense of relief (I don't count Kasich). The extent to which they all suck is mind-blowing. What a train wreck. Our karma must be the absolute pits to deserve this.

I have to admit, they don't have the problems with obesity that we face.

Meh, communism and capitalism are no different. They are both effective ways to ensure power and wealth is contained within a small group. Go to North and South Korea and get back to me.

This is so easy, that it is embarrassing. I'd challenge anyone to attempt to endure some of Obama's father's preaching or Obama's preacher's preaching and believe Obama to be sane. Yes, it's embarrassing how badly you botched that. Obama wasn't raised by his father, therefore the sanity or otherwise of his teachings (which are insane how, by the way? I really don't know what they are.) are irrelevant to how Obama turned out. Except for his communist mother and mentor, Frank Davis. I equate communist leanings with romantic attraction to barnyard animals. If you have the demonstrated capacity for either, it is immaterial whether or not you claim to have gotten over it.

My heart goes out to the poor lass. At 3 AM, on the day that I took the Professional Engineer exam, I was awakened by the death throes of a ferret that had been with me for years. He had well over 1,000 flying hours, and had been a very nice little companion (come to think of it, you met him at Quincy). I didn't get much sleep thereafter, but I aced the exam. I probably should have taken a make-up.
