    I was down 25 total by the time the holidays rolled around. Then all that time and all that food... So, it's time to watch what I eat again and maybe, just maybe, start exercising. Time to spend some more time on the (South) beach.     Has anyone seen this helmet cam in use?     I used to jump one of those. Decent enough canopy, although prone to end cell closures. That made for soft sniveling openings. Once you got used to it, it became routine to pump the rear risers to inflate the end cells. All was good. Mine had a bounce and blend earth tones color scheme. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again."     Turned out the light at 9:30 and had 5 all night. Slowest it's ever been, and the weather isn't half bad. Glad I didn't bother to decorate much. One jack o'lantern is all I mustered up.     Today was the last day of our official season. It took just about everyone on the dz yesterday and today to make all of 8 loads out of the Caravan. Next week, the plane goes to NV for the winter, so any more jumps between now and after Easter will be from the 182. There's always CA and FL, and dz.com. My sanity just may be tested this winter.     I think Jason's feat was even more impressive considering he had to get 12 jumps in on Saturday to get there. I wonder what he offered Jordan to take his slot on that 182 load?     Doc Ed, Jim , Noe and I were going to do a demo this evening into the homecoming game at the high school where I work. Last year I got to bring in the game ball to start the game. This year we were going to bring in the tiara for the queeen at half time. But the clouds are at 1800 and it's still raining. Crappy weather. The drinking will begin earlier than planned.     I work with high school students who have immigrated to the US. It's interesting that besides English, one of the things I have to teach is racial tolerance. Some of the attitudes the students bring with them are acceptable in their country maybe, but not here. I end up extending the same acceptance to them that I do to any students, while gently nudging them to the acceptance level we expect in 21st century America. I also go to bat for them when they are the brunt of uncacceptable behavior on the part of the kids born here who think because my students don't speak English they are stupid and inferior. Overall, it's like being a traffic cop sometimes. I am so glad I get the chance to open up everyone's eyes when I need to . I'm glad I live and work in a country that gives me that chance.
