  1. I'll be watching this threat, Bill, and wishing you the very best of luck. Hope you have your own computer or something, I remember last winter how hard it was to get onto those dinosaurs in the internet cafe. But DZ.com actually is pretty easy to use with any browser. I got onto www.300-way.com and read avidly all about the details after reading your post. With such a wonderful lineup, I suspect that the record will be gotten by midweek! Blue skies and fast tracks! I looked at your position close to the base, it looks like a good one. *** DJan
  2. The reason a lot of names are not on the official ballot is the work required as a Regional Director to get your name on the ballot -- I had to get 120 names of jumpers from my region in order to get it on there, and the Mountain Region is one of the smaller ones. I notice that Scott Smith had to get more than 400, but he did it. Jan Meyer has on her Parachute History page a list of people who are running organized write-in campaigns. You can go to it at http://www.parachutehistory.com/skydive/uspa/elections/ if you are interested in who else is running and why their names didn't appear on the ballot. l *** DJan
  3. I had already voted when I started reading the forum, but all it did was confirm me in the votes I did make. I think I would have voted for one more ND than the 6 I did vote for, because I learned some good things about one of the candidates. And billvon, you are right! This forum *is* changing the skydiving world for the better. Good luck on the 300 way, I am watching your posts with a little anxiety and a lot of interest! *** DJan
  4. Well, I've been here off and on for almost a year. Since I have tried everything and could not get any way to edit my profile, I've gotten yet another username: Mustard, which came from Dijon Mustard, which was my nickname years ago at Lost Prairie and I'm bringing it back. Anyway, now I've got a complete profile that I can edit and everything. I do understand about "lurking" as well, since I am usually too busy to read DZ.com at work and am jumping most of the rest of the time... I do get a little bit more active during winter when it snows. But glad to have a forum that is easier to read that wreckdot, thanks all of you guys for making this work! Luv, DJS *** DJan
  5. Hi Steve, I'm visiting family down here in Texas (Arlington to be exact) and didn't bring my rig! I believed the weather forecast for early in the week, and it as going to be cold and windy. So I decided to do the "other" relative work -- the kind you do without a rig. Looks like great weather for the weekend in Colorado, so hope you got some good jumps in.. DJan *** DJan
