Dont mean to rain on your parrade but a modern Hayabusa is a totaly different animal from what was rolling 11 years ago.

Bikes rock! I ride mine to work everyday. I only use a car if I got no other choice need to shift a sofa or something. Even then I'll wonder if theres a way I can strap it one with a few bungies! Traffic jams make me smile. Rolling passed a load of pissed of car drivers with their misserable not moving for an hour faces. Rember the primary rules of biking - you are invisible and everyone wants to kill you and you will be OK. But start with a 600!

Are you going to die. Yes. When is up to you. I bought a 2002 Suzuki GSX-R1000 having only rode a 125. Thought that was pretty stupid when I look back but getting a bussa is seriously silly. It will bite you on the ass in a heartbeat. A friend of mine had one and was recorded doing a 140mph on his ass as he bounced over the finish line on at the local sprints. I wouldn't even dream of trying to ride something like that in the wet.. too easy to put to much power down to quick. Why not go for a GSX-R 750 or 600. They're fast enough to scare the shit out of you.. lighted and more flickable. Would probably beat a bussa round a track anyone and look the dogs bollocks. least that way you end up with a 50/50 chance of seeing your next birthday.

how far do you live from the DZ?
skydivejersey replied to bunge's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I cant believe how lucky everyone is. It costs me £250 and 4 hours just to get to our nearest one. Its so far away you can get there and find the weather is totally different to how it is back home... -
PC101 - New user - recommendations?
skydivejersey replied to Rainmagnet's topic in Photography and Video
What is the reasoning for number of jumps. Does it make a difference if you are using a system fully enclosed or one with huge great exposed bits of camera gear / sights the whole shabang. -
PC101 - New user - recommendations?

Thanks for that. Does anyone happen to know what the min is in the US for camera jumps? -
I work with people that have never skydived. Then I organised a boogie in April and now 3 have done tandems and 1 is doing an AFF course. Not bad for an office of 24 people! I rock!

Walked into my local computer shop yesterday to see the chap in there downloading the film from kazza.com he nearly fell of his chair when he knew I had clocked him. Now where to get that broadband connection......

I know how you feel. I have lost a friend yesterday and the sister of a friend last week. Only last month a friend of mine lost an ex student of his in Portugal. This sport can be cruel when it wants to be.

Talking to a dead man, part II and a half...
skydivejersey replied to freakydiver's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You can't legislate for a lack of common sense. If someone pitched up at a DZ weighing 300lbs with 50 jumps and a Stilletto 106 (firstly the boss dog should refuse to let them go) but not before that individuals common sense is knocking on the back of there head saying this isn't really a good idea. People need to be aware of there own abilities or it will bite them on the ass. Quite frankly some people are just idiots. Legislation isn't going to change that and isn't going to stop them hurting themselves. Just read the Darwin awards.... -
I was going to download them from Kazza.com Its the german equivalent of Napster. Thanks for all the excellent suggestions. I can do a copy for anyone that wants one. Send me a message with an address and I will do my best! Al.

Hi, I am looking for some appropriate skydiving tunes to stick on at a boogie party. Not being a music efficianardo I thought I'd tap the knowledge in here. I've got the obvious first.... Tom Petty - Freefalling & into the great wide open spring to mind. Any other suggestions....

Very little can compare... except jumping onto the beach in Jersey, Channel Islands. We just had our first boogie - fantastic beautiful views of our little home. Boogie 2 is in May with a Grand Caravan and a chopper if anyone's interested let me know. Al.
