  3. dont worry bro... your not alone!
  4. Lie on the floor and roll over. Then go try in the air. It's exactly the same. Push your arms forward and roll you body in the direction to you want to roll. Don't be coy and it will come easy. Al.
  5. I think this has waivered a little from the initial question. AFF instructors get paid.. why shouldn't Coaches? A low time jumper looking for some fun and basic instruction with a non coach rated individual is a totally different matter to a "formal" coaching jump IMHO. I am doing my coach rating so I can jump with studends just off AFF but I will not be seeking payment, probably not even a lift slot but I certainly wouldn't hold it against nor think it unreasonable that a coach get their slot paid and maybe even something in their pocket. I also don't think it is detremental to the sport provided at the end of the coaching jump the newbie concerned can say "yes I learn't something valuable and improved my knowledge or skills that I otherwise wouldn't". That is worth a ticket and maybe a small splash of cash in the coach's pocket.
  6. A good coach can teach you a lot. Provided they're qualified you can get feedback and improvement from a few coached jumps that are worth paying for.
  7. You dont jump at Netheravon by any chance. Same thing happened to me for 3 years.
  8. yes. as long as you do what James Bond does you will be fine. Basically make sure you carry a laser on your watch, avoid blokes with pointy hats or silver teath, talk loads of women into bed with unbelievably corny one liners and you will have a cracking holiday.
  9. 101 in 11 years. 13 then 7 year gap. 40 so far this year and lots more to come
  10. trying to sitfly makes me look like John Cleese in the ministry of silly walks.
  11. Nice one. Welcome to the sky.
  12. Ain't that the truth. Remember when I was first learning. Used to do to Netheravon EVERY weekend and then 3 months later hand over another £100 for a retrain as I hadn't managed a single jump. Man that sucked.
  13. Rules are there for a reason man. If you want to risk the bends thats up to you. However why not skydive in the morning then go scuba? No problem.
  14. I know that at our DZ you would have a briefing, check out dive, an a debrief with an instructor. Cost would be £70 (for both slots and instructors fee).
  15. bummer. keep your fingers crossed. Happened to me once but turned out some joker had only moved it 500 yards down the street and hidden it behind some bins. Hope you get it back and they crop the thieving bastards hands off.
  16. The view was blurry...lost my goggles at around 7k ft!
  17. Dates are 30/8 to 5/9 to coincide with boogie dates. PM me if interested. Blues, Alun.
