Not at all what I am talking about.... and I will end with this - as I am getting bored of this one. I said if you increased the gun numbers - right now - the risk of accidents increases. If you increased the number of guns right now - that doesnt mean instantaniously better training / awareness / safety.... it means exactly that. Increase the gun number. So no. I am not considering other factors when I say More guns = more risk. I am talking about now . If gun laws were removed in the UK the number of guns would dramatically increase within a matter of days not years. If that were the case - the education and awareness of the public would not change overnight.... again - More guns = absolutely more risk of accident. If you are missing my point - I dont know how else to spell it out for you. Other factors play a part - yes, as they have over the last 10 years..... But if you add more guns NOW you get more risk NOW Likewise for skydivers NOW - if you suddenly signed up double the number tomorrow.... using the same rigs and training as current - the number of deaths would increase for sure. Get your priorities right guys.... Or it could pay for free skydives for all Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk

Actually, I'll try to make it easier for you.... Do you accept that the number gun owners is a part factor in the number of accidents? (ie if there was only one gun owner you would not have 700 deaths?!) If so, think of it as a simple equation. In those terms it doesnt matter how much you increase the number of guns = risk goes up somehow. You may reduce other factors to compensate... but maths lesson over ... More guns = more risk. I'll copy it again so you can try again.... More guns ultimately increases the risk of accidents :- That would be becuase the ratios are not enough to show the increased probability... Ie.. it you have 90m guns... add a few million... and you have 700 accidents while preventing 10 accidents you have proved your point. However... If I have a million guns in the UK... and next to zero accidents.... was to increase the guns by 50 million... I guarantee you the accidents would increase. Like I said, there are other factors.... but more guns will increase the risk of more accidents for sure (when the appropriate % is added!) Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk

You dont really need more speed than that too often! unless you have a porky guy like me Also, with increased speed comes increased risk (and power cost... lol) better to train on as low a speed as possible, if you are in a perfect head-down... and there is stll enough power to lift you..... your right out of options on what to do! As I am sure there are americans against the war also. And I dont think the same comparison can be made for Germany and the current assault on 'Terror' which to some extent doing more harm than good. I think cowardice cannot be a trait of a nation.... only a perception through the actions of its leaders.... I think the invasion of Iraq is misguided - and not through a reluctance to do the right thing Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk

(Double Sigh) As I said other factors affect the number of accidents... However, I would put money on the fact that if you doubled the number of gun owners and guns by waving a wand... the number of accidents would also increase maybe even proportionally.... as the same influencing factors (ie knowledge culture etc would be the same) Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk

If you increase the number of people with guns, you likely increase the number that are careful and educated as well as the number that are not so careful and injure themselves. It is really shortsighted to think that if the number of gun owners increases there will not be a % increase in the number of accidents. You cant make everyone smart and careful. you can give anyone a gun. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk

Dont agree. If 1000 people had guns, they are more likely to have a larger number of accidents than a single person with a gun. Simple mathamatical probability. You would be right in suggesting that the accident likelyhood also has other factors involved (like public awareness / safety campaigns / general culture etc) but the primary influence still stands..... More guns = likely more accidents. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk

I know I can be acused of bias here, however I have and remain to be a jumper! (inital disclaimer... ) I used tunnel time during and after AFF. For me its simple.... The more stuff I can learn on the ground (or in a tunnel) the more time in my 60 second jump I have to learn the stuff I can only learn in the sky. If funds are not an issue.... tunnel time adds safety not danger IMHO. I think this because if the first time I try to learn a skill is in the sky, my mind is occupied at that as well as normal safety checks. Personally dont buy into the idea that just because someone knows how to fly they will be any less altitude aware than anyone else with equal jump numbers. As was mentioned prior, focus on altitude and jumper awareness has to be easier when you can fly already? I find it easier for sure to learn one thing at a time. However, I have to also say that on limited funds it would be the weather that made my choice Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk

This is simply do not accept. It is NOT that easy to get a gun.... and to this point - I have asked all the 'bad' people I know. Some sell drugs, others are just nasty (note I said ppl I know not like! lol - I used to live in a rough area) And not a single one of them has a gun that they could sell.... or get hold of within a short space of time. Simply put - Yes people can always get hold of stuff.... but It would certainly be alot easier for me to get a gun if I was so minded - If everyone had one. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk

Am I missing it.... or are you saying my statement is false after verifying it with facts? Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk

Thats not really what my theory is at all.. My theory :- . More guns in circulation = easier access for crimnials Hence I agree with citizen right to own in US (which guns are rife already) and think enabling a flood of weapons in the UK would be stupid. . More guns = more accidents Hence a flood of guns in the UK would not help that either . Defence by gun in the UK is not really necessary IMHO As your not likely to meet a criminal with a gun (more likely if you are a criminal) - PS Dont come back with the criminals in the UK are all armed via the black market... yes some have guns ... probably too many... but not every criminal has a gun by a long long way. So... my view Guns for you US people.... Not for UK people. Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk

Intersting in places - and also laughable in others. I love the opening, where as do alot of posters on here refer to independance history etc... Just for the record - I have no rememberance of that or any other war personally, and have certainly 'gotten over it' I think we would all do alot better in a gun discussion if we ruled out History, National pride, and one-up-manship, while sticking to the issue... guns! Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
-
Yes Nate, and I accept all of those points.... but they in no way refer to the post I made! It was about a criminals willingness to use a gun (ie Shoot it) as they would be prepared first Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk

Experience is not needed, all our staff will be provided training. The right approach / attitude and customer skills are essential with ideally a reasonable locality to our site.

I wonder how many criminals that carry guns would be prepared to use them?! I would think a good percentage... after all - they mostly think they wont get caught... Bearing that in mind - Do you think there is a possibility that if some criminals thought there was a chance someone was going to defend with a gun they may just be prepared to shoot earlier? - If I was going to rob someone at gun point.... I would probably be drawn and prepared before they are..? Just a thought Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk

Just wanted to update you with our progress, as the last week has seen some key milestones with our tunnel development. We have been onsite all week with our engineering teams and potential supply contractors, and have now placed our motor order. This means the two key items (The propeller hub + motor) are now in manufacture. As these are the lead time items which really dictate our opening date… we have strived to ensure this work starts ASAP! Our full work team should be onsite after Christmas, when you will be able to see up to date photos / details of our development project. Given our current timeframe we should be on track to start our first flight testing phase in June…. With preview bookings following testing. After Christmas our offices will be in operation with marketing and admin staff etc, with recruiting starting for our flight instructors around March. At 5m diameter (16.23ft!) , 8m flying height and 4000HP we are setting a new standard globally for skydiver training. Feel free to drop myself of the team a call should you have any questions or want to discuss the project. Kind regards Paul Bodyflight Limited : Tel. 0845 200 2960 Bodyflight Bedford www.bodyflight.co.uk
