Well, it's kind of hard to not judge Muslims in some ways. Counties like Saudi Arabia, Iran, Afghanistan and Algeria are all places where male dominated culture is forcing women into subservient roles, and requiring them to hide themselves in their clothes, under sever penalties, including death. This issue has already been settled... Suslique said that Hijab is a choice. Billvon said that the U.S requires women to hide their breasts. So there you have it...the U.S is oppressive. It seems to me that the celibacy requirement (among other things) would be more of a deterrent than an attraction. It weeds out the "normal people" thus leaving a healthy pool of social misfits that simply don't have a problem with the idea of celibacy. Same difference, maybe? If celibacy did play a direct role in this type of abuse, I would suspect that it was due to how a celibate lifestyle may effect the behavior of these types of "psychological oddballs." Also, the statement I mentioned earlier seemed a bit peculiar: "BD," woke up during the flight to find the priest’s "hands on her breast, groin, and buttocks." Now I'm not saying she made the story up, but it did make me a bit curious to see what the evidence was against him. Could he have been convicted solely on her word alone? In western Europe it has. Germany's economy is based on exactly that for the last 60 years and it's arguably the most successful on earth right now. No argument there...Germany has invested in education the last 30 years while we were distracted with living the good life on credit... My Muslim neighbors that I mentioned in other threads came to the US from Bosnia...after the housing/automotive crisis in Detroit, they left for Germany. ...it speaks volumes. It seems odd that when one postulates an anthropomorphic entity that just kind of is, but has the capacity to generate a universe for no particular reason, this entity should be massively insecure and spiteful, caring greatly about the opinions of his creations. Vonnegut's idea of a deity involved consummate indifference. Though he very concept of a deity is absurd, at least Kurt had a sense of humor. It's very incomprehensible... Until you ask the basic investigative question: "Who stands to benefit?" I would suppose that they are just wary of doing anything that can have big negative affects on their livelihood. I think they fear that any confrontation of a thug could escalate to the point where they may have to take hostile action or deadly force to the point that may cost them their job or life behind bars...all in the name of racism. So now what we have are thugs running amok...hopefully it doesn't directly affect the majority of good people in the city of Baltimore such as the mother who slapped her kid silly for rioting... Who is speaking up for those people? Who is speaking up for the majority of blacks living in these neighborhoods that don't agree with any of this bullshit? Who's protecting them?
