I've written scientific software for two nuclear weapons labs and the US Navy, and a flight simulator in assembler. I still have to ask advice on fairly simple system level stuff in Windows, which I find cryptic in the extreme. Last time I wanted to render a hard disk unreadable I drilled holes through it with a power drill. We put ours thru a machine that munches the drives into little pieces... and the bin of metal is sent off to recycling... and that isafter the secure removal of data and the elimination of data remanence. Ya...the government takes this shit seriously. We had similar practices when I was working for several major film studios in California. We also had to have security clearances, 2 visual checkpoints to enter the facility, two more card access checkpoints, and then thumbprint access. I was one of 3 people to have a key to the vault, and 2 of the 3 keys were needed to enter...2 people in vault at all times. We also had frequent FBI inspections.... I thought it was a bit over the top, but then you hear about how previous employees are serving 15 years in federal prison for selling the pure uncut shit to India and China that cost the U.S billions in tax revenue. I understand why she liked your post...I just thought her comment was silly and melodramatic...I threw up a little in my mouth. The problem is that when someone in a public forum expresses their opinion on how they find transition surgery a bit disturbing, the PC crowd flips out. People do weird shit all the time...like those lobe gauges. I also saw one guy with 2" diameter holes in his both his cheeks and stuck a branch through it. It's weird...it's disturbing. Some people didn't like my tattoos and previous piercings. Some people think I'm delusional for believing in God. Some people may think it's disturbing that I'm circumcised...but I can understand why they feel that way and don't feel the need to go around treating them like some slope-headed bigot just because they don't understand certain aspects of my lifestyle. (actually, I take that back...I did recently refer to some atheists here as "vengenful bigots," but nevermind that...) Society has nothing to do with how you were born, but I agree that society is a big part of the problem. If it wasn't for societal pressure, maybe a transsexual would feel more inclined to live naturally with a female mentality, comfortable in her own foreskin. It would seem to me that "accepting themselves" would mean accepting themselves as they are with no need to pretend or change their identity. They could be their own unique, independent person that doesn't have to fit into the traditional "two-party system" Now, I know that's much easier said then done, and on a personal level, I don't like to see anyone in pain - physically nor emotionally - so I'm happy you found something that works for you. ...but if you aren't happy, I would hope you'd be honest about it and share your feelings so others wouldn't make the same mistake.
