    Ive got a firewire card at home on my pc... but i dont have time to mess with it. Im headed to the DZ in 4 hours! once home I could easily network the computers and use the card to export to my DV camera, then i can do what ever I want with it. thanks for the help tho.

    Ive had two injuries that required scopes, and PT, and time off. i used a clinic that specialized in sports injuries/medicine. they were geared towards getting you back in shape, not just fixing the problem. I had two Dr. (one for each injury) and each was sincerely intrested in reparing my injury AND preventing a future injury. you might check into something like that?     I dont like em when they get big. they start to get tough. eeewww. i know lots of people who hunt for horns, but hey, you cant eat the horns.     Ok, so Ive got my vid all done, its huge (uncompressed) nearly 7gig. its in an .avi format, and heres my problem. When i try to export to "movie" on adobe premier, the files are too large to burn to a CD. i dont have a DVD authoring program, and I cant export to my DV camera cuz I dont have a firewire card on my laptop, and premier wont recongnise the camera unless its through a firewire link any suggestions?     I have loads more video to edit, but not today. the video is done, only I dont have an authoring program like I thought so its just on my lap top. Ill try saving it to DV tape tonight, and if Im lucky I wont loose too much quality. its just a bit over 30 min long and it has humping, and skydiving and shenanagins and a pet carrier a swooping and chowing and music. other than that... it sucks!     Yup, nothing like having three deer to process on a sunday afternoon, then finishing close to 10:00 and then go to work the next day. But it tastes so good it is all worth it. crap. thats more than a one man job. I usually try to get some help if I have a large deer. 75 lbs + dressed. but ive gotton to where I strip out the tenderloin, and backstrap, and maybe a piece of a ham, the rest goes through the grinder!

    imagine having to do that for survival, with much less technology... very tough. i usually have loads of deer meat, but I had a slow year last year, so non right now. the worst part is the processing. most folks take it somewhere, but I do it all myself, and you just dont know how much time and energy goes into dressing, cleaning, butchering, wrapping, and cleanup.     Well..........more often than not these deer population issues come about in SUBURBAN areas where gun hunting of any type isn't terribly feasable. That's where bow hunting comes in. Pretty hard to kill someone with a stray round from a bow. Even if the hunter is pretty stupid. true. its like that in Iowa... b/c its so easy to have a stray round, no rifle hunting. Only shotgun and bow. but in a suburban setting even a shotgun could get ugly.
