I have tried using minicom, but only to end up with the same problem. Blue Skies, Jeremy

I am having a bit of problems with connecting to an ISP through my wvdial connection. It used to work up until about 4 weeks ago. My current setup is RedHat 7.0 and I am using an external V.92 US Robotics 56K modem that is connected to the onboard serial port on my PC. When I run wvdial, it dials the number and then it will try to connect. After a short while of trying to connect, it will just give me the message of "No Carrier". I have used a new modem, a different serial port on the box, a different phone line, a different serial cable..... I can connect to it using a Windows box and hyperterminal, but no through my Linux box. Any ideas?? Blue Skies, Jeremy

I am looking for a piece of software that I can use to capture pictures from a live video source. This is my setup. I have a webcam and I want to be able to just click a button and save the image that was just on the camera to a JPEG. Like if I am watching live video of my webcam of my cat or someone in my apartment and I just want to just take a snapshot while the video is going live. Any ideas? The easier, the better. I have been searching all over the web and I have not been able to find anything yet. I guess I am not sure how to word it for my searches. Help would be nice. Blue Skies, Jeremy

The company I work for has had a problem with an update file that is sent to it via cron job. However there is not a process yet that will remove the file after it is installed. I am building a script that I will use as a cron job and have it delete the files that I am wanting to delete because they can be a rather large hog on hard drive space. I just want to make sure with a log file that I can see what files were deleted just as a way of checking it was done. Blue Skies, Jeremy

I am fairly new to Linux and I am writing a shell script and I want it to delete a few files that are recurring. I want to be able to have this script send the output of what was deleted to a log file. Any ideas? Blue Skies, Jeremy

Hey, I will share this one with everyone. It is all about poop. I mean EVERYTHING you ever wanted to know about it. Check it out. http://www.heptune.com/poop.html Blue Skies, Jeremy -
I have actually been running a beta version on Vista for about 2 months now. They are putting the OS installation on a DVD since it is much larger now. I must say that I have not been very impressed so far. I am much happier with my Linux distro's that I have installed and run quite often. I have a Myth TV pc running Fedora Core 4 and another personal PC just running Ubantu. LOVE IT! I love open source much better than MS. Seems that they put out a version of Windows that users all over the world are forced to almost beta test a somewhat stable software while we find all the bugs and report it back to them. How many of you in your job could release a product with problems and potential bugs and still keep your job? Blue Skies, Jeremy

I got home last night and was sitting around wondering what I could do to pass the time away. I got into the movie making mood. Well, here it is. Let me know what you all think. It does have music, so enjoy. http://www.thejumpershack.com/gumby.wmv Blue Skies, Jeremy

Do you like long poll or short poll?
meridianjumper replied to meridianjumper's topic in The Bonfire
So what is your preference? Blue Skies, Jeremy -
If you pee in the shower it will save money on your water bill. You are already using water to wash with, why waste 3 gallons or so. If you just do it in the mornings when you shower, that could save you almost 90 gallons of water per person per month. WOW! What a savings! You should conserve water by doing that. Now if I could just talk my girlfriend into showering with me in order to "conserve" more water, that would be nice. lol! Blue Skies, Jeremy

You could cook in a nice peanut curry shake and bake mix and serve with a side of couscous. That is my opinion and suggestion. Also might want to serve a full bodied red wine to go with it also. Blue Skies, Jeremy

meridianjumper replied to BillyVance's topic in The Bonfire
Yeah, that sucks Billy. I had to go up that way today to do some work and I had to go around the area because they had it all closed off. Blue Skies, Jeremy -
True, however I have gotten into some pretty heated arguments over how something should be setup or fixed. I usually remove myself somewhere like outside if'n I need to holler or get louder. Blue Skies, Jeremy
