  1. You want me to call you? You were refering to me right? DD?
  2. Highly tuned -27s will beat weak -34s any day. -34s CAN NOT pull more torque than -27s. They only maintain max torque to a higher altitude because of the increased heat tollerance in the turbine section. And then they have the 4 bladed props on them which requires a higher idle speed so on descent it can cause them to descend slower than the 3 blade otters. My observations. 3. Was YK converted yet by then?
  4. I think you're a Skinny Puppy. LOL.!!!!!! At least someone is paying attention! LOL!!! OH man....you're cracking me up. But I have to ask: Ain't It Dead Yet?
  5. Mmm...Ministry...'NWO' & Psalm 69. Oh yah!!! You know Jesus built my hotrod. It's a love afair. So you know some REVCO then? Do you think I'm sexy?
  6. Hell, all he has to do is go over to the valley in the summer and he'll have the same effect of jumping at a higher landing elevation. Density altitude will get him because he wasn't expecting a relatively same field elevation to have any performance differences. Keep it in mind. Hot air = faster landings and more altitude loss in a turn. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  7. You think Dad Steve can handle it? Have fun.
  8. Ok, good that you don't want to go smaller for 300 jumps. If I hear you've downsized before 300 jumps I'm gonna bring you back to this post. K? Now, I wish this wasn't true but it is certainly all too real today. People making gear choices because they don't want to by "twice". They go a little more than they probably should (not saying that here but in general) just because they don't want to hastle with selling and buying another canopy. This should never really be a part of our decision making process. I started jumping in 95. I started on 288s and 300s weighing soaking wet 150. At about 150 jumps I bought a Cobra 150. So, loading was about 1:1. I had people on my case that I was being too aggressive with my downsizing. I did have about 1,000 hours flying airplanes so I had -some- aeronautical experience before getting to that point. I did not have people really coaching me with my canopy control because they hardly understood their new Sabres either. (just a little story for -perspective-) Sounds like you are keeping up with your instructors. Don't ever stop that then. Most people would say you are out on the edge of ability and performance right now. You could choose to take a step back. Or you can go forward knowing that many have expressed concern here. My suggestion would be to fly in a manner that you never hear us coming back to say "I told you so." I know I've played that in my mind a few time with flying planes. I start to see a headline written and how embarassing it will be for my parents to read how I screwed up. Learn all you can. And also give yourself time for repetition. Repeatability is better than "pulling it off."
  9. I'll just ask: Are you planning on downsizing from that canopy any time soon? Why did you feel you had to downsize from the 190? Was the 190 rental gear and were looking for something to buy? Was that part of the decision making? Seems you have some background with the Sabre 2s so it's not so brand new to you. How long did it take you to get the jumps you do have?
  10. Lay your hands on the keyboard and say "cliiiiiickaaay". ...and he looked at the post and saw that there was a link and it was good. Now that was funny!
  11. I just ordered a new Ministry (new to me) DVD with all their videos on it. Can't wait to get it. STIGMATA!
  12. So that's whats wrong with you? Listening to Ministry and drinking like a fish (on off hours) LOL MLWTTKK: [industrial music] ...I live for drugs....it's great.....I'm the white rabbit...
  13. I went to an all boy Catholic Highschool. I got none of that.
  14. That's why they pay me the big bucks. Yah well, a lot of guys in my position wish they were still working. It's good to be flying anything right now.
  15. And so concludes our demonstration of gradeschool playground theatre. Girls really do have cooties and if I ever see weegegirl I will walk up, punch her in the arm, and run away.
  16. Ummm...exactly how you gonna land on "overhead"? That deck looks "fouled" to me! Yipes! Or was that not YOUR home? Nice photos man. And oh, I'm sure your views have had some pretty nice things before. You just won't admit it. I think landing on a hunk of moving metal is pretty damn cool! 17. You are correct. Sabre 2 loaded at 1.3 is different than full eliptical at 1.3. And very true that every pilot should be competant on their canopy before downsizing. I have not made a blanket statement that 1.3 to 1 is out of the question for someone with the PROPER training AND aptitude (ability). However, newbie is newbie. And we all will make newbie mistakes. Like me on my first wingsuit jump. I didn't really give myself a chance to come out of my glide before dumping. I got cranked on the opening. They told me about it. I acknowledged that I had to transition from glide to vertical descent and yet I still deployed too soon. Newbie mistake. Now had I been on the ultra high flat gliding winsuit instead of the newbie suit it might have been worse than it was. Maybe not. It's just an example. I learned something from that. It hurt. But I learned. Let's learn things by living through them. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  18. I demo'd a Velocity 84 awhile back. I landed it just fine. Enjoyed the experience. Loaded it at 2:1. And then I thought "Yah, that was fun but don't need that for an every day canopy." Was thinking about those "bad" situations. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
