Don't buy an 85 Mercury Grand Marquis - that was my first car. It was like driving my frigin couch down the road. That's the only suggestion I have...unless you were going to buy newer. I have one older brother (26) and a younger sister (21). I'm 24 - my parents seem to do more to help me out though. I think it's because I always pay them back. The definitly don't have favorites though. I also have half-dozen step-brothers and sisters ages 11-19. I get along great with my brother and sister - we hang out a lot and I know I can count on them for anything and vice versa. Anyway - as I said in my PM that I was just stating my opinion about the joke. In all actuality maybe I should have just kept my personal opinion to myself and taken it for what it was - being that it was posted in the bad jokes thread. Regardless, I thought that my stated opinion would have gone unnoticed under all of the other posts in thread. It was not my intention to spark some sort of discussion/debate about what should or shouldn't be considered offensive to people. I'm sure that I have made jokes/comments to my friends that in apublic forum would have been considered offensive to on person or another. Anyway - that's the last I will say about that. HAHAHAHA - that's one of things I miss about living with my old roomates. Waking up and trying to determine who the mystery person passed out on the living room floor was or where they came from. I don't think that if someone takes offense to one that the offense taken would necessarily be of the same magnitude for all. I personally think that jokes about anything tragic like the events above is tragic. I may take more offense to one over the other for personal reasons - but the same goes with anything. Events of any kind usually affect you more when it either affects/affected either you or someone you love. I take offense to very few jokes too. Anyway - I'm not going to get all sensitive now. I just felt the need to state my opinion on the joke and that was all. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

This helps me to explain why I was offended by the jewish joke in the other thread. I am not a sensitive person and think that I can take jokes pretty well. However, my grandfather's entire family was killed during the Holocaust - somehow my grandfather survived. I'm not Jewish - was actually raised in a Catholic home- and I find those types of jokes to be extremely offensive. I don't think that anything of so horrible as the Holocaust can be turned into any kind of joke. I have talked extensively to my grandfather about his experiences in the concentration camps and it chills me to think that someone could take that kind of horror and joke about it. Nothing against Nubain1 for posting the joke or anything - I was just stating my opinion about the joke.
