Ya know....I first bumped into Sparky at the little drop zone at Victorville quite some time ago. He was running the loft and he did me a rigging favor, that anywhere else I would have been charged for. We got to bullshitting and told some old Navy stories. I liked the guy right from the start. Anyway.....Victorville closed and I started jumping at Elsinore.....Sparky was there quite a bit.I reconnected with him....and made some good skydives. To walk away takes courage. Folks.....it was a long time ago. 36 years ago for me. Probably longer ago than some of you have been alive. I have tried to forget a lot of it. Those of you that know me personally know why. One more little known fact. She was being introduced to a lineup of POWs....a couple of them had personal notes in their hands that they slipped to her while shaking hands......she then handed the notes over to the camp commander. These AMERICAN POWs were later beaten, repeatedly, for this., Do your research.....this stuff is all out there for your dissemination. I wont forget Hanoi Jane...nor her actions . By her visiting and supporting the NVA....she gave them the added incentive to carry on.....whether they did in response to her visit will be debated forever. If they did......she was responsible for reinforcing their resolve to fight which directly caused American deaths. A little known fact.....her comment while sitting in the NVA AA gun was..."I wish an Amreican B-52 would fly over right now so I could shoot it down" Why she wasnt prosecuted is anybodies guess, Professor. Those times were so confused and convoluted.....it seems like a blur to me these days. As it is......Jane Fonda does not get a pass from me or many many other veterans. bozo bozo Pain is fleeting. If I had a camera shoved in my face while receiving news like that, I would not be happy. I think there is absolutely no reason for the media to treat grieving families with such blatant disrespect. *** BIGFOOT, WI. I spent a year there one week! I remember at one of the early Freeport conventions, I had just landed and was walking back to my campsite......Roger was just ahead of me with a guy in a suit who turned out to be the Freeport Mayor. A couple of guys hummed one down low.....like 500 feet, and dumped....right over Roger and the Mayor.
