That was my experience. The only reason to eat rabbit is when you are in a survival situation, and the alternative is starvation. I went to a survival school 100 years ago and the common thought there was that to digest rabbit used a huge amount of water in the body. The gain wasnt worth the water loss. Dont eat rabbit. Pah, phooey. Rabbit caserole tastes gorgeous. Especially when they're freshly shot and go straight in the pot Do you make rabbit casserole out in a survival situation much ? I once had a 21 foot Kachina flat bottom ski boat with a blown 460 Ford engine. It would do 80 mph easy. My skydiver buddies used to do 4 ways off the back, planed out, at about 50 mph. I spent a morning, once, watching them chop the wings off B-52s at Davis-Monthan. They had a crane on either side with a huge sheet of steel suspended on cables. When the sheet was positioned correctly they let it drop. After they got the wings chopped off they went to the fuselage.....four chunks. Sad ending for the old Buff.
