  1. What does that have to do with the title of this thread? The "separation" is usually misunderstood to mean something that it wasn't meant to mean, and besides, the "separation" is not part of the constitution or other documents. 3. You have the show wrong... CSI Miami is all about the red lenses... Right, red, whatever. Other CSI variants have had suspects interrogated in very dimly lit rooms. The opposite of the 'bright lights in your eyes' stereotype. Their offices are dark, even the coroner operates in near darkness. Faces are illuminated from one side only, with the other side as dark as possible. 8. I think popsjumper got it right regarding the purpose. Not many would alter their rig in such a visible way to provide for this small convenience during packing. They should have done it in red to match. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. 9. Please confirm that you think wide risers are too strong. If so, then wouldn't it be a good idea to revise the design somehow to get the strength down to the level of mini risers? I like the idea of having in effect a load limiter, but don't like the increased force on the white loop trying to suck in the cable or the increased cutaway force as a result. I choose to not use mini risers because of this and because I'm heavy enough that wide risers seem appropriate. 10. Someone else brought it up again. The ball is not an explanation for why the cutter didn't work when they don't show details as mentioned. Seems reasonable to still discuss this when it is brought up. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. 11. The ball was never shown in clear close up pics to be able to know if it showed any evidence of being hit by the cutter. That sure seems questionable. Their assertion that tension is needed to get a reliable cut on a loop is not reasonable. Some rigs have the cutter placed between the PC and the freebag. For these rigs there is a significant time where the loop will have no tension after the PC launches. If the cutter jams during that time, as would happen if an AAD fires during a low reserve pull, well you know what that means. Aviacom spent a lot of time trying to convince users that the student leaning back incident doesn't indicate a problem with their product, but that is not true. 12. What you you mean by "designed on a bias/opposite bias"? Is it that the wall is inclined - not perpendicular to the back of the container? 14. Yes, you can clear the memory. Ask for good close up pics all around so you can better see the physical condition. You should get a pic with the unit on, to verify that it functions at least to that extent, showing the data from the last jump - you can see when it was last used. Check out the person's profile, some judgement can be made on the amount of risk you'll take with that data, including checking out posts that person might have made. 15. No, if you weigh 155, then adding 30 pounds of gear is reasonable. That puts you at just under 1.8 WL with the canopy choices you mentioned. Not everyone has the desire to swoop. That doesn't mean I couldn't, just that I don't want to. Big difference that you apparently don't understand. After more than 3 decades of jumping (albeit at a slow overall rate), I can still walk without a limp. 16. Getting right back into things after 6 years with a 1.8 WL. What could possibly go wrong with that? Have at it. 17. They also made a larger 5 cell reserve modeled after the Cirrus main, forgot how big that was, I think they made an Orion 7 cell reserve? Not so many of either of those were made I think. Before the 5 cell swift was introduced, the 5 cell safety flyer (the first square reserve I think) and safety star, both 170 ish. 18. The swift plus were available as a 140 somthing, 170 somthing, 200 and 225 (I think that was the largest). The original 5 cell swift was only available as a 170 something. I have one ride each on the 200 and 225. They worked very nicely, quick smooth opening, had a pretty steep glide angle, but flared well - easy landing. Lots of kevlar reinforcement I think. 19. Then be satisfied with nice, easy, non dramatic landings at a conservative WL that a 150 provides (WL 1.2). Is that compatible with Toby being cool per your user name? 20. I absolutely am guilty of having lots of different tension on my non locking stows. I've never noticed any problem. The overlap/joint of the tube stow should be installed in the base of the larkshead, so that it doesn't get the stress. I wonder if it is common for people to do otherwise, and if this might contribute to supposed baglocks involving tube stows. 22. I've not had a problem with just using tube stows for the locking stows, regular bands for the others. I find the tiny tube stows (really tiny ones needed for regular non-locking stows) are difficult to use. 23. I use them for locking stows because rubber bands break too easily. I would rather face the risk of a tube stow not breaking (extremely unlikely scenario) than a locking stow breaking when I don't want it to (very likely scenario). I make my own tube stows, glue isn't needed. Hi could you please explain this in more detail? How do you make Tube Stows? and how do they work without glue? Cheers Get the raw material, fishermen use it for something, or get it from medical use sources. I've also seen it at some home improvement stores. Use a pair of needle-nose pliers to turn one end over about 5mm (turn it inside-out). Insert the closed pliers into the other end and open the pliers to expand the tubing. Now take a pair of hemostats or similar instrument to grab the turned over end of the tubing and insert it into the opened end. Carefully slide the tubing off as you allow the pliers to close and you're done. No need to glue anything, just put the joined end at the base of the larks head knot when you install the tubestow. I've used my home made versions for about 20 years I think, no problems. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired.
