    The Navy and Air Force tested ram-airs for bailout rigs. I don't think they were for egress systems though. The rig I saw them jump was a 310 with a ZP top skin. There were no toggles or steering lines, just risers for control. This rig could be landed hands-off with a stand-up landing, granted you were facing into the wind. These jumps were conducted in the mid-90's in Ohio and i think AZ. I'm not sure of the outcome but, i don't think they bought the rigs. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

    Uh...... Basketball; Short, Stocky (not fat........although I do have a budding "authority belly") Can't jump Packing; I'd rather pay than pack on a hot day, or most days for that matter Swooping my canopy; I just can't seem to hook my 290 Startrac II very well...lol "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

    I was on a load where this chick was doing her first tandem and first ever ride in an airplane. Well, you guessed it, a reserve ride! Now THATS what I call getting the most bang for your buck! I watched another tandem malfunction from the ground. I just happened to be watching this particular tandem in freefall. They got a streamer and they cut away. Once on the ground. this big muscle bound, macho man type student was high-fiving his buddies and generally talking smack about how cool it (and he) was. The instructor pointed to the reserve collapsed on the ground and said, "Ya see that bud, that's plan B, we had a malfunction." This guy said "WWWWWW....HHH.....AAA....TTTT?" He proceeded to turn white as a sheep, his knees buckled, and he almost passed out!. All his buddies and the rest of us almost passed out from laughing so hard!     I've jumped the Spectre and Triathlon, prefer the Triathlon, they are both good canopies. You can't loose either way. The Spectre is a little more fun to fly because of it's quicker turns. PD's ZP material is slicker than snot on a doorknob though, especially when it's new, a total bitch to pack. The Triathlon is rock solid in turbulence and flies good. They pack the easiest of any ZP out there, even brand new. My only problem with the Tri is the occasional hard opening. I blew up a Tri 220 several years ago, I believe it was my sloppy packing and not the canopy. I haven't had anything close since, just a nice 500-750 foot snivel everytime. Aerodyne has great customer service and they are very helpful. The Diablo is a cool canopy but, I think it's a little squirrly for your experience level.     Wow, another thread where I can speak with some authority!! I'm a USAF AMMO guy on the military side for over 20 yrs.(active and reserve). I've never built a JDAM, I've shipped some kits, but never built any. I'm assuming they have coded anti-jamming features like the GBU-10/12's I have built.     I couldn't agree more. There will be a lawsuit I'm sure. Hell, I'd think about it if it were me. But dogs don't understand the use of force continuum. These guys had a job to do and the dog got in the way. I'll say again, I've shot several dogs during my career, and I'm an animal lover. In every case the dogs presented a danger to me or some else. When I had to put my greyhound down, I cried like a freakin' baby but, that doesn't stop me from taking action at work. Four more years of this shit and I'm DONE!!
