    Rent a Cop.

Uhhhh,,,,,,,,,,, For a fee and a base rig they could rent me.........
  2. I had a freefall collision a few years back ( I have a really cool scar on my nose). My kids were there (at the dz) when it happend. After I landed another jumper saw my blood covered face and without (me) asking, found my kids, I'm a single parent, and explained to them what had happend. This went a long way when I came up to them. Given my line of work, my kids are pretty educated when it comes to dangerous things and events. I take my kids to the dz because i have to sometimes, plus they like it. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  3. All I've got to say is.................. The Liberty Parachute Team ROCKS!!!!!!!!! Twardo and all the other members are not only first class jumpers, but set the standard for civilian jump teams! The Dayton Airshow was the show to be beat all shows. Even an airshow geek like me was spent by 3:00pm, and there were still 3 more hours of airshow. Again, I'd like to thank Twardo and the team for all the hospitality they showed while my son and myself visited the Dayton Airshow. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

    Run Jerry Run

Just another way to embarrass Cincinnati. He's been exploiting the same people he professes to want to help and care about! The sad thing people actually buy into it!! "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

    The Ride Up

OUTSTANDING!!! Thanks for sharing the moment! These kinds of moments should give us all pause, to reflect on whats important. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  10. If this is a small town I'm assuming he has no FOP (Fraternal Order of Police) representation. Small town cops are unfortunately at the whim of the small town government. They normally have no collective bargaining agent or union (for lack of a better word) representation. If he was on probation, sounds like he's outta luck. My employer has always been cool with me jumping. They even put me on light duty while I was recovering from a minor jump related injury. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  11. And from the photo............you're quite a looker!!! "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  12. Sue!!!! How ya been lassie??? (is that irish?) Have a good day out saving the world? "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  13. Holy Shit!!! This thread is outta control!! Someone needs to call a cop!!! Just leave your cell phones in your pocket!! Arguing this is like pissing in the wind, I think we all know who sides where! I'm just sitting here at work (on my lunch, thank you)hoping to become the enlightened law enforcement professional that sue wants!! So I guess I'll never leave the office and stay away from confrontations! I'll use "I-messages" to solve my violent confrontations, give every bad-guy a great big hug, and never speak ill of those rowdy law breakers!! Peace OUT!!! 14. Not a tandem master.......but I play one on TV......... when in doubt, whip it out!! Reserve that is... "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  15. Thought I was done but Phillykev is correct except, it's shot to stop, not shoot to kill. It's to stop the suspects actions, not to kill him/her. If they die in the process then, that's why it's called deadly force! "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  16. I finally saw the video, definitely justified. Some tactical mistakes were made BUT, these kinds of situations are almost never tactically perfect. The bottom line is, this dude would be alive today if it weren't for his own actions. Simply put, even partial compliance by the bad guy and this situation ends VERY different. Street level police work as it regards to use of force, is very seldom pretty or easy to watch. As skydivers we hate the way whuffo's judge skydiving. In that context at least give the benefit of the doubt to the officers. Blue Skies (and I'm done with this thread) "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  17. Like he said, you can be FAIRLY certain. One thing on the media, and the coverage of incidents. We had a situation recently where a guy wanted to commit suicide by cop. He walked down the street with a loaded shotgun in his hand, and two other loaded long guns slung over his shoulders. Our guys responded, got the guy cornered, diverted his attention, and finally an officer snuck up behind him and tackled him, while on the ground the bad guy was disarmed by several officers. The press coverage of this incident consisted of one 5 paragraph small article on page two. No blood, minimal coverage.......... If our guys would have shot this dude, massive coverage, questions, ect. Not to mention a law suit. Even if a guy runs at me carrying a gun, knife, or other weapon, and I use deadly force, 99.9% I'm sued. Even if I am 100% justified. Welcome to my world. My 1st CRW

Congrats! On my first CREW jump i was scared shitless, and that was a two stack!! Very gutsy going for a 5 stack on your first one!! "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  19. That's an easy decision for someone sitting behind a computer. The guy got shot because of HIS OWN ACTIONS. Charging cops with crimes over split second decisions just makes them hesitate more. And the hesitation could come while the officers are trying to protect you or your family. Cops who commit crimes NEED to go to jail to set an example. This guy would be just fine if he would have complied (even somewhat) with the officers commands. That my friend is no crime. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  20. You watch too much TV dude! The real world is not even close to the range. Skydivers by nature know how to overcome fear, everybody on here has a one-up on most cops, their first jump. Imagine the fear and stress of your first jump, thats what it feels like in these shoot or don't shoot situations. Now while remembering those first jump jitters and fear, throw in a split second decision (shoot/don't shoot), then a physical reaction along with a complex motor function (actually shooting). This is done in seconds, alot shorter time than most skydiving malfunctions. I've had two malfunctions, I was way more scared in the shoot/don't shoot situations than the malfunctions. In my 16yrs of law enforcement I've had several shoot/don't shoot situations. Luckily they all were no shoot outcomes. In two cases my mind was made up to shoot, it was up to the suspect and his (and one time hers) actions that dictated my response. In one instance I would have been wrong, these are the kind of things inner-city cops deal with on a sometimes daily basis. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
  21. Ya know, Darned if ya do, dead if ya don't. Hmm...... Would I have shot, the answer would be maybe. Without going into a long rant and getting pissed off, nobody on this thread was there. With that said, several (in this case 8) shots are fairly common in shootings where there are several officers present, it's called sympathic fire, I haven't seen the video (my PC here has the wrong media player and I can't update it) but, if a suspect is uncompliant and turns suddenly after chase with something resembling a gun in his hand, he's fair game. Once I shoot, the other officers are probally going to shoot (sympathic fire). With that said, if I'm able to see in that split-second that it's a cell phone in his hands, I don't shoot. No easy answer here. As far as shooting him in the leg goes, give me a break! Under that level of stress a person is lucky to hit anything, thats why police are trained to shoot center mass, it increased the likelyhood of hitting the target. By the way, you can see for yourself some officers who may have hesitated a bit too long in a situation like this. Also there are some officers on this site that did everything right and still had the same outcome. www.odmp.com "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

  24. Tax cuts encourage growth, growth stimulates the economy. This growth increases revenues in the long run. Simple supply-side economics. It's worked every time in the past. Why should this tax cut be any different. I do by the way, agree the initial tax cut was too robust, hopefully this one (amout) will create the above results. 25. Flight Concepts will set up a demo canopy with a flag pocket. I'm not sure how much extra it is. I've jumped one and it's pretty cool but, I think a larger flag suspended from the jumper looks a little better. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
