I agree with Stacy, her recipe is almost the same as mine, I use just a little less sugar. 1/2 cup and more brandy in place of the triple sec!! If you can find lemon or lime Fanta add it in at the end, we mixed one 2 liter bottle. For an extra touch of class for your party, go buy one or two new plastic gas cans, fill them up, then walk around serving from the spout. Chicks really dig that!!!!! Happy Holidays!! The "MOTHER OF ALL MUGSHOTS"!!!!!!!!!!!! What a coward, he could have done the honorable thing and ate his gun!! His sons certainly believed the crap their father spewed, they fought to the death. Just goes to show his true character.

That's a fact!! But it would be funny to drive it around for a couple of hours just to see the looks!! But I like my job too much!! "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Does that put this into perspective? "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Just a video of me during my canopy class!!
skycop replied to koopa's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Dude, Nice video! Remember fly the canopy all the way until you are on terra firma! Keep your hands even and flare with small corrections evenly to deal with wind direction, don't reach or ouch!! It looks like you're inproving keep it up!! Pretty soon it will be second nature!! Blue Skies "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!" -
Full flare high, causing the canopy to sink straight down fast...............................ouch! If this was grass maybe a different outcome? "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

I put my 2 cents in an earlier accuracy thread about "riding the wire" accuracy approaches. This is an example of what can happen with a steep approach..OUCH!! "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Was that prop on blend or puree??? "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Nope, I SAID I respect Hackworth's service even though I don't care for him. I have my doubts about the entire letter. My comment was not directed at the individual who (may) have written it. If it did happen in the manner described, then I may have felt the same way. I wasn't there, he or she was, and that my friend I DO respect. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Back to work.........plus I just made "Old Hand" I'm somebody now!!!!!!! "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Yea, Those stupid pawns don't know anything about winning wars. Keep sitting safely behind your computer, keep having fun skydiving, while those "pawns" fight a war many people feel they have no stake in. In these times, I'd much rather be a pawn taking a side, than being an armchair quarterback watching from the side, enjoying the things those (us) pawns provide! For 9 months of war, less than 500 casualties KIA is militarily insignificant and does not affect the mission, (unless you're a casualty). Cold hearted but true. I have several friends who are there or have been there. They all agree this mission is important to national security, and the right thing to do. So I guess it's all in who you talk to. Col. Hackworth has turned into a Hollywood style hob-knobber. I respect his combat experience, not him personnally. Read Michael Durant's new book and you'll get a little insight into Mr. Hackworth. David Hackworth has done nothing but bad mouth the military after he left. I understand he is a highly decorated veteran, but he has a huge chip on his shoulder. He is the same guy who predicted thousands of allied casualties during the first gulf war. I have no faith in what states. He has an agenda, what it is, I'm still trying to figure out. Awwwww..........how cute......... Was that AFTER you graduated from Airborne training? Or during the DPS Academy? "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

I'm sitting here at work thankful it isn't busy. BUT.....normally around 1800hrs. The druken family fights, custody battles/disputes, etc. start. It's almost like clockwork!! Ole' Uncle Ted never liked cousin Ned, and on turkey day he gets liquored up enough to tell him on the one day a year he see's him...... Blue Skies and happy Thanksgiving!!! My point exactly, Most military demo teams I've had contact with all jump big f-111 7 cells. I wouldn't sink a smaller canopy unless it was an emergency off-landing type situation. As I stated in my previous post, I sink a 290 Startrac II, not my Triathlon 190. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Could'nt have put it better bro'!!!!!!!!! "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!" -
An effective way to sink a canopy is to "ride the wire". Imagine a wire coming up from your target at a 45' angle. This is done at about half brakes, if you're high and going to overshoot, more brakes, if your short and want more glide, less brakes. This can be done mainly with just wrist and a little forearm. The main canopy of choice for this is usally a large 220-290 F-111 or a large ZP 210-230 7 cell. I use a 290 StartracII. It doesn't work too well with my Tri 190, but did work (somewhat) ok when I had a Tri 220. The whole point being, you should be able to squeeze the last lift out of the canopy by flaring the rest of the way (without going to full flight) just before landing. You normally land coming straight down at the target. This allows for a very steep approach into a tight landing area. The drawback being if you sink too hard in brakes or too soon, the canopy can stall and ouch. It takes alot of practice, but it is very effective "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

We jumped this a couple of years ago during the 6:00 o'clock news, it was a hoot! We got some REALLY funny looks when we were downloading video in the newsroom from my partner's helmet cam. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
