No, I couldn't disagree more. Most voters will pick through the smoke both sides put out. There are "sheep" on both sides but, I guess I have more confidence in the voting public. You can sure see where certain people stand by the nature of their comments. Many people would rather hurl insults than listen to the facts as they are presented. I am a Bush supporter however, kudos to John Kerry for an excellent debate. Sen. Kerry is an excellent debater, that was very evident. This actually set the stage for the remaining debates to be very interesting. The tone of this debate was spirited but civil. I thought both were strong in their stance but respectful in tone. I disagree with Sen. Kerry on about every issue, but I would say he came out a slim winner. The election will ultimately come down to issues, not the "cult of personality" portrayed by the media. Blah, blah, blah....... Michael Moore just stirs the pot......all the way to the bank. I ran into Michael Moore (almost literally) while I was on vacation in Mackinac Island MI in August. He was leaning against a post on the Main Street, out of breath. I was going to confront him on several things he claims as facts in F 9/11, but thought the better of it. That's exactly what people like him want. By confronting him, it lends a small amout of creditability to him (in his mind). So I just shook my head and walked on by him. He is such a whiney ass that later in the day, another person did yell an unflattering remark about his movie at him from across the street. Mr. Moore responded by getting a cop and claiming harassment. A classic case of dishing it out, but not being able to take it. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

I've got three kids. Two teenagers and a 10 month old. I've taken a break until the little one is a little older. It is a very personal decision. My kids have seen me get hurt, have malfunctions, but mainly they seen me enjoy and challenge myself. They have enjoyed ground crewing at airshows and being around several aspects of aviation. So for me the return is worth the risks. Jumping has made my kids better rounded. They get to meet a wide variety of people that they would never meet otherwise. Just my 2 cents. Not sure what you mean by FEU. We HAD a real nice stainless PPK that was taken from a bag guy. Our narcs used it because of it's quality and concealability. This saved taxpayers because we didn't have to buy that type of gun for that mission. The new law prevents us from doing that anymore (I think). I'm not sure what happended to the gun. That's different. Those are going to be high quality weapons. We traded in our old Glock 19's to a dealer and the price of the new ones factored in the sale price of the old ones, which saved us money. I don't have a problem with that. Guns in property (at least in our case) are mainly pieces of shit. Ravens, Hi-points, etc. The long guns normally are poorly maintained. There are exceptions, but these guns have no reason to be back on the street. Ok, I have to address #7. My state enacted a law to where we have to auction off the guns that end up in police property. Before that we destroyed all our evidentuary/confiscated firearms. The intent was good, the money by statute goes to buy body armor. This benefits mainly small rural departments. The rest of us suffer from the road made of good intentions. The money we receive is minimal, most of the guns are complete pieces of shit, and even "honest citizens" have circumstances where the firearms get out of their hands and end up back on the street. No matter what way we look at it, we (law enforcement) end up with the potential to be the meat in a shit sandwich as always. This time for no reason. I was stationed in Spain for two years back in the early eighties. Going to Pomplona was off limits due to guys getting injured and uncle sam paying the bill. We went to a mini-running of the bulls in the small town next to the base. They ran bulls (small ones) through the streets and into the town bullring. Once in the ring they had railroad ties set up standing on end in an L shape, in the middle of the ring. The challenge was to run from the side of the ring into the middle where the railroad ties provided cover. We sat there calling everyone dumb-asses and watching people get slammed by the bulls (sometimes there were several in the ring). Well after numerous and sundry alcoholic beverages, myself and a friend became dumb-asses. Several stitches, cuts, and bruises later, a great time was had by all (dumb-asses that is).
