Freinds in the UK, I'm thinking of shipping my motorcycle to the UK instead of selling it. Need some thoughts on owning a bike and riding in London and the UK in general. The good, the bad, and the ugly! I know there's the north of Italy, the south of France, Spain and the Alps - but that goes without saying if I take it!

Man - some people just don't seem to "get it"..... I'm not going to post the whole story again. For those of you who are still unclear about my intentions for this forum, please read the post called "Here's how it goes" that I made a while ago. PostingWhore - I deleted all your messages. For now, I did not cancel your registration nor did I block access from IP 207.144.178.XXX (which includes all IP addresses, regardless of your username that you've ever logged in from). Hope you stay and decide to honor and respect what we intend to create here. Some threads will either be locked or deleted over the next 24 hrs. Again, my apologies in advance to the innocent caught in the crossfire. I ask again, please do not jump on the bandwagon when someone starts down this path! The easiest way to prevent this from happening is by not fueling it. Let's keep it clean and fun!

Hey all, I'm back from Hawaii. Had a most excellent time doing as little as I could. Never even checked my email or the site.... I'll pop some pictures online in the next couple of days. As some of you know I'm getting ready to move to London at the end of this month, but I hope to move the site to a new dedicated server before I take off. I have 2519 unread messages in this forum only, so I'll spend some time over the next couple of days catching up (and cleaning up it seems). If you sent me an email in the past two weeks, please be patient - I also have more than 400 email messages to try and work through.... Good to be back!

Hey all! I'm in San Francisco for the day. Alaska was absolutely amazing. I took more than 200 pictures and dropped a few random ones here for you to check out. Flying out to Hawaii tonight. More when I get back. Hope you're all having as much fun as I am. Hehehehe!

Ok folks, I'm off to Alaska in about 2 hours. I'll be gone for a week, back in San Francisco for a day and then off to Hawaii for another week. I'll say hi when I pass through town and pop a few pictures on the web for you guys to see. I hope everything keeps running smoothly while I'm gone. When I get back I have about 10 days before I leave for London. I'll try my best to get the site onto the dedicated server during those 10 days.... Keep sending me your stories and news. Zelda - Here's what I would suggest: go to the myDropzone link at the top of your screen and click on "Log Out" - I think it's the last option on the myDropzone page. That should delete your cookies. Then log in again (it will automatically take you to the login screen when you log out) After logging in again...come back to the forums and theck it out! (You can also click the Logout link in the Forums navigation bar...come back to the forums and click on Login) Let me know if this works..... Safe swoops Sangiro

Folks - I'm aware of this. I've purhased a dedicated server - the move will be completed when I get back from vacation. The database is not too large for the forums...my current host is simply a drag! On a dedicated server I should be able to optimize my database tables much easier and run the forum under mod_perl which will provide substantial performance gains. Give me a some time - I'll beat it down. The new forum upgrade should bring some performance gains as well..... Safe swoops Sangiro

Hey guys, Remember that all the Dropzone.com services share a single user database. It's that feature that allows you to have one login for the forums, auctions, classifieds, e-mail and any other service on the site. There are a lot of people who never post in this forum but who use Dropzone.com on a daily basis to post classified ads or use it as their web-mail system. When you look at the user list in the forums you see all of them as well. So, don't sweat the "high" number of registered users. It's in fact still pretty low. That number can go into the hundreds of thousands with no real performance impact. The performance issues is on my server side. I am moving to a dedicated server...but that will probably only be completed when I get back from vacation....

Heya all, As you may have noticed I upgraded the forums last night. Peek around, let me know if you find anything that's broken. Read the FAQ's, there are a few new features - new control panel, the ability to mark and track your favorite boards and threads, your outgoing private messages will now also be saved, you can post pictures to the forums again and a bunch of other features that you can discover for yourselves...... have fun!
