  1. The jumper made a violent front riser turn at low altitude, starting from full brake, causing canopy collapse with line twists. The jumper hit a house roof then fell in the garden below where he struck a metal pole.

    Released toggle

During a student jump the jumper experienced a released toggle. This led to a turn that was held all the way to the ground. The jumper did not release the other toggle or take any action to cutaway.

Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be acting on behalf of a "client" or another "customer". Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be from Nigeria or West Africa If you agree to accept a check payment, then do not send anything, gear or "change" before the check cleared. He's registering using all kinds of bogus email addresses and simply enters the same email address into the 'contact seller' form. It may make sense to send the automatically include the email address on a user's account as the reply address when they contact a seller. Safe swoops Sangiro

  8. Nice! So 13 seems to be the number to beat. We've got 2 locations with 13 DZs in a 100 mile radius. The east coast is loaded with places to jump!

  15. Hah! I knew this would be useful in some obscure way... Still, what's the most you can find? Safe swoops Sangiro
  16. Ok - this is one of those stupid things that can suck you in and waste your time! Here's the challenge: Go to the Drop Zone map search in the Drop Zone Database. Leave the search radius at 100 miles See if you can find a location that will give you more than 11 DZs in a 100 mile radius off the bat on the original search. No scrolling after you've done the search (that will give you more results) - there has to be more than 11 on the search results listYou can find 11 in a 100 mile radius in Florida: lat=29.03215782622282 lng=-81.62017822265625 Safe swoops Sangiro

  18. So which page did you open when you were "attacked" by all these cookies? Was there and EBay Google ad on that page? I've never seen an EBay Google ad here but of course the ads vary depending on where you are. Not sure how else EBay content would make it from this site to your PC. Safe swoops Sangiro
  19. Hey Kris, So this DZ doesn't exist anymore? http://www.dropzone.com/dropzone/Detailed/385.shtml Safe swoops Sangiro
  20. Heya all, We've added some functionality to the Drop Zone Database to make it even easier to find a DZ anywhere in the world. In the past, the primary way to search for a DZ was to browse through the continent and country categories. We've now integrated Google maps so all you need to do is move and scroll the map to position the cross-hairs over your location, select a radius and search for DZs in the area. Easy as that! While we've had a ZIP code search feature for a while, that functionality restricted us to searches in the US and some EU countries. Now you can pick a spot anywhere on the globe and we'll show you the DZs in the area. Drop Zone Owners - Update your location information! If you're a DZO, webmaster or someone who maintains a DZ listing on Dropzone.com, update your latititude and longitude information today, or you will not show up on location searches. We've made it easy for you to enter your location. No need to find a GPS or lookup the lat/lng coordinates for your DZ. Login to Dropzone.com. Click on the "Modify my DZ" link on the Dropzone database page. Embedded in the form you'll see a Google map. Scroll and zoom to place the cross-hairs on the location of your DZ. The lat/lng fields will automatically be populated with those location coordinates. Click on the "Modify DZ" button at the bottom of the form. That's it! You can of course still browse or directory, or even search for a DZ by ZIP code or address. Handy Dandy Tips and Tricks Once you've done a search you'll see a map with pins indicating the locations of DZs within your search radius. You'll also see a list with the names of those DZs. Click on a DZ name to visit their listing in the DZ database. Now, try this: Click on any pin on the map to and you'll see a "bubble" with the name of the DZ and a link to the DZ listing in our database. Scroll around the map by using the controls or "dragging" the map with your mouse. As you scroll, new DZ pins will pop up on the map! You can move around the entire globe and we'll continue to dynamically place DZ pins as you move around. Ooh! Look! Something shiny... And finally, a big shout-out to Ross Simpson, who has volunteered a lot of his own time to help build this application. Thanks Ross! Safe swoops Sangiro

  24. Heya all, We've done a major upgrade to the Dropzone Mail application. Beside a bunch of new and improved features and functionality this also fixes some issues that we've been having with the old application (like the address book not working for some users) Take some time to click around, explore and familiarize yourself with the new application. We strongly recommend that you read the Help section. There are a loads of new features and this will set you on your way to getting the most out of this free mail service. One major improvement is that Spam Control is now done not only at the server level, but also at the individual account level. This means, while we still have default setting that will flag incoming messages as spam if it meets a certain criteria, you can now control how "strict" or "lenient" you want your spam filter to be. To change your spam settings go to: Options --> Spam Detection. At the very bottom of the Spam Detection page you'll see a link to: Show advanced settings » Click on that and you'll see a bunch of settings that you can tweak to fine-tune how spam will be managed in your account. For example: changing the "Advanced View" setting from "No" to "Yes" will give you a link on each email that enables you to flag any message as spam or not. You can do this with legitimate and spam messages. The more you "Learn" the system what a spam message looks like and what not the more intelligent it will become in filtering them out. And finally, when you visit the new application you'll see things on the pages look a little different. The global navigation links moved slightly, the header and footer looks different... We're slowly starting to update the entire Dropzone.com template set. Don't log those as "bugs". Any other issues or problems you may find, feel free to let me know in the Error and Bug Reports forum. Read the Dropzone Mail Help section Hope this helps. Enjoy!
