Booyah!, I am amazed how I have been able to get out of some of the line twists I have had on my Xaos-27 98,I have had to chop 3 times from other canopies in line twists but everything always seems to work out w/ the xaos. Maybe I have gotten better at flying the harness during opening but I generally, have no problem w/the 98. I do think that having it in a TJN has contributed to a few line twists as it was rather tight. The coolest thing is that the canopy opens the same way every time. Slow enough in the box that I can usually clear the twists before the slider even comes down. This is regards to ChilenXaos' question of how the canopy behaves loaded up at 2.5.

Thanks for the responses, I left out of the original post that I have a J1 as well. I was thinking that could be good for a 27 and I could stick the VX in the OJ. My bad! Mish

Hi, I have been jumping the xaos for over a year and the openings are great. The wing loading has increased to about 2.7 as I have gained a few lbs. My swoops are OK but I realize that I am loading the canopy too much for performance sake. I bought a VX 109 and there is little comparison. The front riser pressure was heavy to say the least and the openings sent me to the chiropracter. I dont think that 2.5 is optimum for any canopy. I do want the 27 118 but I am curious about the 21 and peoples experinces with them. I plan to fly alot of camera and AFF soon so I want pure bliss. How does the 21 react to line twists. The 27 is still very forgiving in that regard. I think the real reason for the 21 is that I cant afford a new container and I need to find out if the 118 will fit in the OJ. Mish

I am looking into a 21 cell Xaos, I have been flying a 27 cell for over a year now but I am starting to chill out a touch. Does anyone here fly a 21 cuz I hear the openings are outstanding and they still are swoopy. If any one here has flown a 118 Xaos-21 let me know here or via PM cuz I have an OJ container with a new Xaos written all over it. Thanks Mish

Thanks for the response, I called down to CSS and incase anyone else is interested the doors dimensions are H 50"x L 56". my quest is done. Mish

Hello, I frequent a King Air dropzone, but all of the competitions are out of twin otters, does anyone know off hand, the dimensions of the door i.e. hieght length. I would like to build a crude mock up at the DZ to practice exits. Odd question, I know, but if you happen to have a Twin Otter in the back yard let me know Mish

I was there on that jump, and I am pretty sure that the Troll the person was jumping did not have MDV. I think that he is definetly lucky. The canopy was not fully inflated after a 2 sec delay w/ a 46" pc from 300'. His opening appeared to be normal from up top but you could see the shimmer in his topskin as he went into the trees. The canopy had not yet fully inflated but was starting to surge forward at 40' which resulted in a tree landing 1 sec later. The tree line was very close to the tower itself probably 10' from the structure. I am no expert but the delay seemed reasonable and I went right after and opened much higher. I know the canopy wasn't MDV. Hope this helps Mish

What style booties do you have?

Hello Y'all, Just curious about Tony suits vented booties I am ordering a new suit soon, w/ XL vented booties, and I am curious about the added performance people are receiving from them. Thanks Mish

I love this show, it is by far the best on television! I would like to see Vick smoke the Mom! She's a liability. I also think that Dutch was just trying to understand the Killers mindset so he could continue to learn from him, and this is going to bring out a side of him that he had been repressing for so very long. Cant say enough about that show

I was at a local A last night and I was feeling rather lazy. I took a peek at the elevator and it looked fairly simple to operate. It had some on/off pull switches and up and down buttons. I pulled and pushed all of the buttons and knobs in every different conceivable order but I could not get the elevator to power up. I also checked the numerous boxes outside of the elevator and could not find a master power supply. I am just looking for some input from anyone who knows how to make the magic start

Thanks. Do you know who is in the 4 way line ups of airspeed, now that they have made changes?

Howdy, Anyone got the scores from the Valentines meet in AZ?

Its good to hear from you Brother, I am ready for that canopy, we need to plow a swoop ditch anyway What do you intend to downsize to? Also thanks to everyone for the responses, I appreciate it. Mish

Howdy, I am looking to buy a 109 and I am wondering how big they pack up what containers have you squeezed one into and thats about it, I have a OJ with a 143 in it and I think thats going to be tight. Mish

I would like to withdraw this question because it is a stupid error that I made, though dynamic and cool looking, the rear piece doing a 360 would probably not lend to them having memory. The 180 upfront is where the slot switch occurs. Not only am I stupid I am ugly as well I sincerely do not know what I was thinking when I asked. Thank you for not flaming me, which is what I richly deserved. Mish
-
Howdy Y'all I am enjoying the technical threads, I have a question for the 4-way gurus. Why do teams generally give the memory to the rear piece on block 10? Thank you Mish
-
I guess if you have seen it before....

More BASE More 4-way Longer swoops More coaching Less ego Have a Happy New Year everybody Mish

I think that you are getting the point that all of the other posts are getting at. With that being said, I am sure that practicing flying a BIG canopy(you don't necessarilaly have to have a BASE canopy) would be good for you. If the canopy is a 7-cell that will be even more realistic training for you. If BASE is your goal you should pursue it. I think that are some jumpers who post here, have used skydiving to a means to the end, to eventually BASE jump. Then just skydiving eventually goes to the wayside. Find someone(a BASE jumper at your DZ) to help you. That person will be much better to judge who you are and when you are ready, rather than someone anonymously slamming you with a negative post. I am not saying that you should ignore the advice given here, you should get as much experience as you can, before making the premature and possibly potentially lethal commitment to BASE. good luck Mish

Hello, I am shamelessly pimping Skydive Saulgau again because they are so cool and such a nice place to jump. I get stationed out of Stuttgart once in a while and I jump there. To answer your question. Yes a skydiver is a skydiver wherever you go. This place accepted my uspa membership and almost everyone speaks english. They have everything you need to jump there. Mish
