    the French

I know this has been brought up before, but isn't suspitious that the French and Germany have Billions of $$$ invested in contracts with Iraq, and these guys are the ones DEAD SET against a war. I am confused though can someone answer me this: Why did every country in the U.N Sign resolution 1441, with the stipulation that if in breech, military action would be taken. Iraq is NOW saying it found some Chemical weapons. They were supposed to declare that on Dec 8th. Why now? Pressure? The threat of war? See, all these people that think GWB is an idiot for this war threat obviously don't see that it is working. The close to a war we come, the more sadaam gets scared, and the more weapons relealed. I think GWB is a genius, and his plan is working perfectly. Am I the only one who sees this? Chris
  2. Sure it's great, some of us here want to save the world, and have peace on earth, but that is just not realistic. I understand some people give to charities and what have you, and that makes you feel good, but not me. I pay for other peoples medical bills and lawyers and alot of other crap with my taxes. I pay my taxes and I don't complain because this country has given something to me, (freedom and protection the only 2 things it really owes me) and I inturn have to give something back. We all have this strange belief that the Government owes us something. Well, they don't. They only Owe us PROTECTION and our Freedom. All the other programs, and benefits are because they are being nice. We asked and they gave, but just remember they didn't have to. The system isn't perfect, by no means is that the case, but when people get a free ride at the expense of the citizens without our consent, it costs us all just a bit more. I am very welthy compared to people in other countries, I know that. But, I was born here, and I worked for my education, and for my job, and the benefits that allows me ($$$) I intend to keep. All of it except for what I owe Uncle Sam. If Uncle Sam says my freedom cost 50% of my salary, then fine I will pay, so long as the money goes to protect me, a citizen. Chris
  3. Lincoln Laboratory is one the the worlds leading laboratory in MANY fields. A good deal of the projects we work with, I am not at liberty to say, but look through this site, it may answer some questions for you. http://www.ll.mit.edu/
  4. you are right we are different, and we have different views. I am glad to see you voice concern about this. I think you will find that it is actually very few of us who are hateful. However, we are very passionate. It is important to be able to make that distiction. You got my PM's, and I hope you understand where I am coming from. I also hope that sometime if I ever make it to the south west we could do a jump together. That would show you that despite our difference we have a common love for the greatest thing in the world. Chris
  5. WEll, Icarus it will be a shame to see you go, and I mean that. I think you need to step back away from this and understand this has nothing to do with skydiving, but instead about foriegn and domestic policy. See, many people have many view about all different topics. Because someones views differ from yours doesn't mean you can not be friendly with them. I dissagree with many of my friends. I can't speak for everyone, but at no time did I express hate toward anyone. You see, this is the "TALKBACK" forum. A place where we meet and debate, or just talk about anything NON-Skydiving. If this thread is making you not want to belong to DZ.com, then I am sorry. But istead of judging the entire forum based on 1 thread, maybe you should look around. Here's the thing: I am sure there are women in this site who are offended that us guys post pictures of BOOBIES all day, but guess what. Thay stick around, they just don't expose themselve to that particular thread. I don't know you, maybe someday I will, heck, maybe we'll jump together someday, but I get the sense that you are reacting to this a bit too much.
  6. I am origionally from Beantown (just south). But I got a very nice job in NY working for MIT LIncoln Laboratory. So, even though I work for them, I am in NY for now. Chris
  7. I actually work for MIT!!!
  8. The Computer Assisted Passenger Prescreening System II (CAPPS II) is designed to scan multiple public and private databases for information on individuals traveling into and out of the United States. The system will feed the results to an analysis application that mathematically ranks travelers' potential as security threats. A brainchild of the Transportation Department's Transportation Security Administration (TSA), CAPPS II is a quantum expansion of the current system used to identify potential terrorists attempting to board airplanes. In addition to accessing FBI, National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and State Department databases, CAPPS II is expected to spider IRS, Social Security Administration, state motor vehicle and corrections department, credit bureau and bank records. CAPPS II will collect data and rate each passenger's risk potential according to a three-color system: green, yellow, red. The vast majority of passengers will be rated green and won't be subjected to anything more than normal checks, while yellow will get extra screening and red won't fly. We've had CAPPS I since January 1998-instituted in response to the 1996 crash of TWA 800 and the Atlanta Olympics bombing, both initially thought to have been terrorist related. CAPPS I screening is based on address, travel history, criminal records, and other unspecified information about passengers-a few dozen variables in all. Nine to 11 of the 19 hijackers on Sept. 11 were flagged by CAPPS, but weren't searched because the system gave a pass to passengers who didn't check their bags, Hudson said. People without checked bags now are included.
  9. I agree almost completely. I think her right to sue is a bad idea, but at least you see that we should at the very least be treating citizens the SAME as illegals.
  10. Hey, I won't argue that that illegals do jobs I don't want to, but the people working at McDonalds do jobs that I don't want too. I never said every illegal is a lazy non taxpaying person, but what I will say this, and it will be bold so you hear me. Every illegal in this country is a criminal! They are by definition ILLEGAL / breaking American law. And that is what I have a problem with. By making a deliberate choice to break the law, these people should be entitled to NOTHING that America has to offer. I am not generalizing all criminals by saying criminals have no rights, but I am say illegal imagrants should have no American civil liberties. They should be gently escorted back from where they came.
  11. I have only been to 3 DZ's, but the RANCH is my Fav so far!!! Blue Skies
  12. I have to say thanks Bill!!! I am real happy that for the most part this has been a very peacefull and good debate. Though I think some of your views are crazy, it is good to hear them voiced!!! Man I love America, and this forum for that matter!!! Chris
  13. Look free.. I started this debate as a civilized one. Just because you disagree, and have emotional attachment to the subjuct, does not allow you to attack people. Hey, I disagree with you, but I respect your views. I am just asking you to do the same to other people. Chris
  14. They meant send them LEGALLY!!!! Just like my ancestors came here!!!
  15. Maybe you haven't been listening... Maybe you should go back and reread the the entire thread. I am suspecting that you saw MEXICAN and came running. The fact of the matter is, I asked about the Morallity in sueing. Truthfully if I were a cruel SOB, I would have kicked their ass out before the operation could occure. But I digress. The fact is, I have been here bitching for a while about a good deal of social issues in this country, but in my opinion the biggest problem in this country right NOW is our leaky borders from the North and South. I am a advocate of putting up a 400ft wall around the border with machine gun fire, but that is just me. Why though should there even be illegals? THere are plenty of Mexicans here legally. Why is it that they follow the laws and have respect for the USA and other don't have to???? If you wanted to come here and stay what would you do? THink with your mind, not your emotions.
  16. Well, first of all look up irony... this is in no way ironic. secondly, I have been here for 5 months talking about frivolous lawsuits. So, to me this is just another. The USA gave this girl Chance at life... that is it. a chance. She would have died without it. But to turn around and sue is a slap in the face to the help we reached out to give. Chris
  17. I can't help but agree with you... this stupid double stadard. Hey, we in the USA can't complain are prices are low compared to may places. But then again i am in the USA, so I will complain anyway
  18. THank you for your balanced views. I am happy to see someone step back and thoughtfully look at both sides. I am at work right now, and can not go willy nilly through the internet looking for the sources, but will when I get hme. I posted this in the hope of opening some eyes as to what is going on. Conservative or liberal, it doesn't matter. There is saomething wrong with this whole situation. You are also right to notice the only reason you now know Lauren is because I put her name there. In response to many people, a life is worth no more than another. This is true, but when you use my $$$, I should have at least a little say in where it goes. I for one do NOT give any money to charity. Not after 9/11, not after seeing where a lot of it went, but hey that is my choice. I only posed one question, and that had to do with morallity. Some one asked if it was my kid would i sneak into a country illegally. Yes I probably would, but I would not sue when the shit hit the fan. She had her chance, and the doctors tried. SHit happens. Unfortunately a good deal of people feel they are entitled something when things turn out for the worst. This is what bothers me. This woman should be thanking the Hospital, and the American taxpayer for the Chance that her dughter may have been saved, but instead she is sueing.
  19. Honey, I am working on it. If I recall it was on MSNBC (TV). I an searching for the source. THe Question I asked though is: IS THIS MORALLY CORRECT? NOT LEGALLY, BUT MORALLY?
  20. you are wrong... one can sue for loss of property
  21. Mich... I know what you are talking about. 5% of donated organs... that is the the #. My medical info, and the transplant % data came from Reuters, just to set the record straight. I understand your side and view, I do , but so many liberals out there make this argument. Before we police the world, let's fix everything at home first. That being said, before we cure the world, let's fix our own first. Chris
  22. Rev, i don't know you, and I respect your beliefs, but for a minute just stop and think with your mind, not your emotions. I do not deny the Docs screwed up, and I know there intention was not to make a mistake. But, they are human. My argument about her citizenship is this: There are taxpaying people who are also dying in this country, and in this hospital that should have been higher on the list. So what now... America can take all the worlds dying people and cure them free of charge? You know what... I want the Mom to win her suit. Then I want to deduct from that all the expenses from her operations, and then what ever is left over donated to medical research. That way this is not just another vengefull lawsuit. Chris
  23. True, her kidneys and liver... but there a lot more to take. What Liberal paper or news agency did you get that from?
  24. It's good to see someone else out there agrees.
